Formula Atlantics Race for The Leinster Trophy- Mondello Park 1981

The biggest race of the year at Mondello Park- The Leinster Trophy. In 1981 Formula Atlantics competed for the famous trophy with UK visitor Ray Mallock the favourite in his state of the art Ralt RT4. He didn't have it all his own way though, as he was beaten off the line.....

The last great Atlantic race at Mondello Park bringing down the curtain on nearly a decade with this great class. For many people seeing a Formula Atlantic was their first experience of a real racing car. Seeing Mallock's futuristic Ralt RT4 as a lad of 15 at Mondello Park had a lasting impact.
