It’s so interesting that if anyone else reviewed this, everyone would be angry over the 7. But this dude spoke so enthusiastically that everyone let it go lmao
This is a game that is definitely more about the journey than the destination. You are supposed to play and get lost in this world and soak in the inhabitants and their lives. Every play through will be different depending on what you choose to do. Using a guide to rush to the end is completely missing the whole point of this sort of game in my opinion.
Don't be fooled by the cartoony visuals. Some of the side character's backstories portrayed in their individual questline are depression inducers, to the point it could give Bloodborne and Dark Souls a run for their money in terms of storytelling. Vaatvidya might want to take a closer look on this game to tide him over until Elden Ring is out.

Yeah, unfortunately he probably did not have either the time or the patience to actually delve into the game entirely. No mention of the crafting, No Future, the way the land system works. Nice enough review though.
I've played for 2 hours now. 80% of the playtime spent on idle-ing on Domina and just listening to the music... EDIT: 6 hours in, 80% of the time is just idle-ing in pretty much everywhere on the map listening to the music.
He didn't talk about pets or golems or crafting magical instruments, either. He didn't talk about the two player systems. Honestly the dude played this game like 1 hour and crapped out a fakely enthusiastic 5 minute review. People giving him a break because of the energy in his voice, but this is tremendously disappointing. LoM is easily one of the greatest, and most slept on JRPGs ever, and this dude didn't even give it the time of day.

Don't listen to this review, Legend of Mana is meant to be played without a walkthrough. It's designed for multiple playthroughs. Seriously what kind of reviewer burns through the game using a walkthrough rather than enjoy.
Just to let others know, on the PS1 game, you could raise the game's difficulty after beating the game the first time. (Wouldn't recommend Nightmare mode too soon.)
Somebody missed the point. Overall story? Not it. All the side stories and characters? That's the thing. Sure, you need a guide to do everything. But you can barrel through without as well. And he didn't even mention the soundtrack or characters.
Such a shallow review, masked by an enthusiastic and mostly optimistic voice. No mention of the soundtrack, all of the interesting systems, 2 player mode, etc, that the game has to offer, to just talk about gorgeous sprites and the fact that the game is a non linear 20 years old JRPG.
There is hard mode on NG+, as well a mode of all enemies Lv 99, forcing maximization of the various systems. Story opportunities and outcomes can also differ, so there's replays there too. Multiplayer can be through the NPC characters you meet and acquire, or an imported alternate character file character. Only local though.
Never got around to playing it originally, which seems like a crime considering gow gorgeous the sprite work appear to be.. Definitely won't miss out on the chance this time!
nice review, but you totally missed the point of the story. It's supposed to be slow paced and episodic with more of a focus on side quests than overarching plot.

No, most people aren’t going to complain over a 7 because it’s a 22 year old game. And it wasn’t all that great back then either.
