Do you paint trim first the cut in ceiling and walls

We painted the walls and the ceiling so they were completely done. Then we painted the molding with two coats before we put it up because it’s easier and faster. Then we put up the molding covered all the nail holes and painted final coat on the molding. If we had the molding on the wall already we would paint it first let it fully dry maybe even as long as 48hrs and tape it off to paint the walls so there is less chance of painters tape pealing of the wall paint. If you do get some paint pealing on the molding it’s easier to fix and most likely have a smaller effected area. Hope this helps. @@DIYwithMAX you answered my question! I’m a carpenter but don’t do a whole lot of painting. Doing a full renovation 6 bedroom house and there’s crown already in place throughout the house so in my head I wanted to paint trim first then cut in but my 2 apprentices disagreed lol
