To the people who don’t get it. There’s a viral TikTok of a lady who was asked out for drinks by a guy and she proceeded to slurp down 48 oysters AND still ordered an entree lol when the bill came the guy said he had to use the bathroom but ended up leaving. When she texted him he said he’ll cash app her for the drinks but not everything else because he only invited her out for drinks. That’s where the bill joke comes from 😂
@@ItsMaricruz she says in the video the happy hour price is $18/dozen. And again, it says ½ in front of ALL items, not just the ones marked HH. Showing they got half off the already sale pricing. Nothing wrong with it, just an observation. You're not a very good detective 🧐
Men are supposed to pay for women that they are dating, not for friends just because they are men. A female-male platonic friendship is exploitative if the man is supposed to somehow provide her with free meals/ experiences.
Oysters should not be that expensive right near the ocean!!! In Australia (pre-covid and price hikes) natural oysters were rarely more than $3 each. If you go flavoured like kilpatric or something of course price goes up. & if not at a restaurant $1 each ($12 for 12) Now I’m a restaurant $4-5 is kinda normal but usually the more you order the less you pay kinda deal.
I have never seen someone eat oysters with a fork before because everywhere I have gone we all have polietly just slurped down our oysters and what I mean by polite is we do quiet slurps we slurp without that dramatic nasty noise lol
I went to an all-you-can-eat seafood dinner a couple years ago for a family members bday, and was just inhaling seafood lol they informed me later that I had eaten 16 blue crabs, on top of several plates of steamed clams and shrimp lol it's so good!!!
That lady was so entitled I can belive there are women older than me acting childish and expecting a man to pay the bill when he only asked to get drinks.
After seeing that bill, my own oyster eating ambitions have been put to rest. The day i spend nearly $200 on oysters is the day i win the powerball lmao
I know this comment is 3 months old, but I have to respond. Whole Foods sells oysters $12 by the dozen on Fridays! Aside from the few times a year I order them in restaurants, it's the only way I'll buy oysters.
I’ll try pairing with a French 75 tomorrow when I go to my favorite oyster bar. I normally get a Manhattan because the opposing flavors go really nicely together.
I live in the Power & Light District and am a big fan of Pierpont’s $1.50 Oyster Wednesdays. I’ve only done 2 dozen over there but wouldn’t mind trying 4 one of these days, especially since oysters are mostly water. The bluepoints that they sometimes serve are pretty tasty in my opinion.
They come from the ocean already salted naturally. I like a bit of mignonette dressing, or lime, or a dab of horseradish, or a splash of hot sauce on mine.
Adam from man vs food had 180 oysters and he said in an interview it was the worst challenge for him.. took him years before he ate another oyster. The challenge ruined one of his absolute favorite foods for him.

I had only had them cooked at Christmas in stuffing but once I moved to Florida and a friend said you gotta try them raw or steamed I was hooked. But its a hard texture for most people. Like imagine how hungry the first person to eat them was😳 cuz let's face it. They are a giant booger on a shell. And a greenish/grey/black slimy booger 😅
Okay but hear me out. I live in a state where it’s really easy to get oysters and have unjokingkly downed like 12 plus a huge chunk of prime rib and some sides. Definitely one of the best meals and memories because it was with someone special. 24 sounds amazing (btw the oysters were 1.50 a pop for three hours. Otherwise they’re 3 bucks so it’s definitely not as cheap if you don’t attend during those hours but I don’t wanna say where bc of safety. But always check for hours like that in your local restaurant! Seriously it can make date night cheap and super filling and fun!)

I was scrolling through the comments for this!
So now it became a trend/challenge on TikTok to try to eat 48 oysters ?
@@msunje9862sorta kinda
thank you
same@@Croatican
The bill at the end is actually wild🤣
Ikr? I'm surprised it was so cheap. 😂😂
$40 of us was drinks 🤣
That's the usual bill nowadays 😢
That’s a steal for 8 dozen oysters and half a bottle of vodka and other apps
@@neotokioboi5152 that's what I was thinking too, pretty good deal for all of that.
No Lisa you were supposed to slurp them and eat some potatoes and crab cakes yourself...😂
BAHAHAAH NAHH
Like the girl that did it on a date and ended up having to pay for the food herself??
@@DaisyAppleJuiceshe deserved to pay for it herself LOL
😂😂😂😂 I just screamed
$6 lemon drops and $4 French 75’s? Sounds like my kind of happy hour!

@@CJayG37 that could make sense
Lisa you’re a hoot! This video has me tickled 😂
I literaly saw the title of 48 oysters and thought "is this a coincidence". Then the bill comment at the end solidified it for me 😂
Don’t know why it took the bill comment for you to see it was inspired by that video. You know when stuff goes viral ppl want to try it.
Love the subtle shade 😂
You noticed it too, huh? 😂😂😂
@@ayisolajohnson6741 I sure did 😭

I was low key thinking the same thing
He’s married.
No, no, noooo the 48 oysters are the APPETIZER 😂 The melted butter looked amazing on them
Oh was that butter? I thought it was a vinaigrette! Either way it did look delicious 🥰
I was there with Lisa that night, but she kept ordering oysters, so I "had to go to the bathroom" 👻
Batman 😂
Did you cash app her the total of drinks? ;)
Here in California, that would cost $500+ lol
She got the happy hour prices. Oysters cost more when you don’t order during happy hour.

I've never eaten oysters but if those were clams I'd be right there!
I eat oysters when cooked with some hot sauce and lemon
I can’t eat it cold…just tastes alittle weird tbh
Does it really count if you didn't slurp on every single one and try to make your friends pay when you're the only one eating them?
I know. I was sad to see the oyster liquor go to waste. I would never eat them with a fork.
You are good on your zinc requirements for a month or two!
That's really impressive! Well done
