I love how at 02:58 the "burger expert" says says that burgers need to be simple without extra over the top ingredients like truffles or mac and cheese, but later on nick tries both those burgers 😭😭😭
Gordon Ramsays burger also has a twist with the glazed patty, but overall is also simple. I think simple is the way to go. I want to taste a few simple good quality ingredients, where every ingredient gets a chance to cut through and adds something to the overall picture. All these "fancy" burgers just throw stuff on there thats fancy on its own, but the burger is all about the composition. Why the fuck would I eat a mac and cheese burger when I can just get mac and cheese? My perfect burger is a nice patty for flavour and substance, salad for freshness, fresh onions for crunch and tomato slices for the juice. Add some cheese or pickles to taste, perfect. Finish it off with a great mayo sauce or ketchup and mustard, and I'm happy.
I had to pause just to say that I really admire how kind, fun, respectful and appreciative you are Nick, towards all the chefs/owner's and towards all their methods and creations and it was really nice seeing them reciprocate by being very welcoming and warm towards you.
