You have put a lot of money into that truck! Everything you’ve done yourself has saved thousands of dollars!!! Great Job you’re a true owner operator!!
Got my commercial class 1 license in 1975 took many years to get to drive nice trucks hung it up in 2010 I miss it a lot usually ,a lot of good days some not so good I enjoy your channel stay safe out there dude 👍
Hello Bandit, there is a tool that replaces the nut on the tie rod end so you can strike it, a little bit of pressure up under the steering arm also helps. If no tool then strike the end of the steering arm. But you got it done, so good job.
Whenever you're doing ball joints hit the part that it goes through hard on the side and they'll usually fall through💯💪 Hazel Prickchard doing? give him hell bandit!!! LmmfaO!!!😂
In our shop that pickle fork would have been use for on the campfire. A way bigger hammer and pickle fork would have helped. I was proud of you though no swear words when you hit yourself. Ive done it before and even ended up with a broken thumb. Mechanics is not easy on a persons body at all. Congrats on another Bandit did it video.
Oh for sure but I think it also doesn't help that the truck is sitting on its wheels which I'm sure it's putting some pressure to it also compared to it being jacked up and some pressure is relieved from the suspension
@@OTRBandit hell yeah especially if someone's gonna be bullying u I hate bullies I've been bullied in school because of me being slower learners than others have a good day my friend
You need to add a tool to your kit, a truck-duty torque wrench, so you can tighten critical fasteners to the proper torque. The good old days of 'good-and-tight' are gone. A lot of fasteners are now 'torque-to-yield' specification. I would highly recommend that you have the shop properly torque those drag link ball stud castle nuts, as I'm pretty certain they aren't even close to properly torqued. When torquing castle nights, never back them off to line up with the cotter pin hole. Tighten them to the next opening only. Enjoy the beach!
Good job, tackling this with limited tools💪 But watch out with heating those ball joints. They can explode on you as there is an enclosed air pocket below the ball that can build pressure.
Another awesome video Buddy, learning tricks of the trade watching you repair Big Blue. For whatever reason I’m just glued to ur vids with all the travel and country side you show. Another awesome job. I know ur Vacation is already over but hope you enjoyed it. Still hotter than hell down here. Thank god for A/C’s. Peace ✌️ Buddy………. Prrrrrtttt………..👍🏻
You are real getting good at fixing big blue. Another great video and you were real on a roll talking about Richard mom like that make me laugh till I cried good job! Like to talk about my ex like that can real be a jerk! Well hope your Vacation was a good one never are they long enough. Well be safe till the next one.
Thank you my friend for another of Bandit's Truck Repair, brought to us by Da man himself, Big Blue, Ms Jenny & sponsored by Modelo, Da beer of the hard working driver !! Get R done Buddy. Great video, thanks for showing this and really hope the problem finally gets fixed.. After this I reckon you will have a big ol juicy steak, cauliflower, and of course the sponsor of this video, to wash it all down. Bprrrrttttt..
Hey Bandit nice job on replacing the center link. Yeah need to get a longer hammer handle on the mini sludge hammer. Helps alot with delivering more powerful blows and keeps the hand away from smacking knuckles on truck parts. Take care relaxing and having a nice drink my friend.
@OTRBandit my father watched me smack my knuckles with short handle mini slug hammer and quickly snag that hammer and put in vise knocked out the old short handle and stuck a good 2 foot oak handle in my hammer. Now you can wack something without banging up your knuckles. Nothing hurts worse for days and weeks bleeding knuckles from metal. Takes forever to heal up good. You can buy them from like TSC Tractor Supply company or farm store. Some good hardware stores will have good long handles and swedges. Take care my friend.
Gday Bandit Good job Mate, not easy to do on the street with limited tools but you got it done ! Hope the holiday was good and well deserved Take Care Mate
Thank you very much, buddy. Vacation was very good and much much needed. I met a big group of guys and ladies from Australia and New Zealand, when I was in Panama City Beach.. they are touring the United States in Mustangs
Make sure they are the same length and your steering wheel is straight you could put a piece of rope around the steering wheel and brake paddle and make sure it’s straight then shut the truck off and take it apart. Good luck, buddy.

I don't believe it happened in this video but it has happened in previous videos. I'm talking about using playback that is 2 times as fast as normal speed. Whether it is scenery or repairing the truck, I like to watch and listen in real time. The rest of the videos are great.
that's actually the preferred method for amplifying torque on the adjustable wrench.. hit the arm the ball joint (tie rod) goes into.. it will jar loose. The pickle fork works but I hate using them... especially if I have to reuse the part.. thet tear up the grease boot.
the difference of 1 side tie rod & the other is 1 is left hand thread, the other is right hand thread. It's OK if you put it on backwards if the joints are straight.. the only problem will be if you have one go bad, and it's backwards, the part you get will need to be the opposite part # or it won't thread in, like Richard's mom
