Vintage Hutch Redecorate Using 1970’s Corelle Dishes

- I’m at it again, I decided to do a late Summer hutch redesign to hold me over until I can decorate for fall. This time I’m using all the Corelle dishes that I have collected over the past few weeks. I truly intended to use some of them to eat off of but that changed when I realized how beautiful they were mixed together. Hope you enjoy!

Yes! The white is startling until all the pretty things get placed with it!
The hutch gives a feeling of standing just inside an aspen park in the fall with a slight breeze making the aspens sing. White, green, and gold sparkling in the light, drawing your eye all around. It’s amazing what our chosen physical pieces can trigger in our feelings. If you can’t tell, I love it! I am not just cra cra! It gives a feeling of being in a cool place when it’s really 105 degrees!
I now have the perfect accessory to go with my golden butterfly collection! A late 70s camper! Ohhh this is going to be fun!
I love the yellow pot set you passed up. I have never seen the yellow. My mixed color set has a golden mustard type color in it.

@Kim Alonzo. Thank you so much Kim. I always get chatty excited when I see how to use my items in such a pretty way. I seriously kept my pretty things in a cabinet hidden until I started learning from Becky how to display them. It triggers such emotion! I reciently moved from a place where my aspen park was my own yard. No I can have that same feeling on a shelf. It’s cool right? Thank you for such a sweet reply💛💛
@My Little Vintage Home. It was a shock and surprise to me. I have the best son in the world! This camper has great bones and won’t need a lot of physical work. Mostly paint and floors and decorating. It will be My vintage hideaway for sure! Happy times to come. The right one will be there for you too!💛

I don’t know why I am drawn to the older things. I always have been. I was always an Elvis fan and he died before I was even born. I guess I am an old soul. I am glad you are enjoying a trip or two down memory lane. I’ll keep looking for goodies to share.
@@MyLittleVintageHome I groaned when I saw the price on the Johnny Cash Album!!!! I have it somewhere in much better condition. And the Elvis collection!!! Yes you need to buy a "record player" 😁. I ordered a Crosley a few years ago and love it. It had a CD player, radio and turntable but looks like a 40s item!!! Sometimes ya just gotta dance😁🎶

@Kathleen Robers. I thought that was cool too! I have a lot of espresso cups of all different shapes and sizes. Probably a ridiculous amount but I like small things like that. But they also take up a ridiculous amount of space for their size. Becky to the rescue in my home again! Those little cups and mugs should look pretty in a wire basket. Fingers crossed. 💛💛
Love your style and your colors. My colors are totally different, but I enjoy your style. I was taught that when decorating; three or odd numbers are best and your eyes should travel. Meaning a zigzag pattern when possible. You have given me a new appreciation for golds and greens!!! Thank you so much! Also Daisy is a sweet dog and she must need lots of love and security. Our fur babies are an important member of the family.💕

I find myself dog sitting quite a bit here lately. But she really is a good girl. No problem at all other than I have to sweep after her every day to keep up with the shedding.

My grandma has the whole set of the butterfly gold , bowls , plates , tea cups, and she still uses them :) I just recently got into collecting vintage and have picked up a butterfly gold tea cup , and some other correlle, I also collect vintage pyrex ! I am only 28 but I am obsessed with the vintage
My daughter Lily is 26 and she loves vintage too, I'm so glad the younger generation is getting into these old pieces, otherwise they would just get thrown away.

Love the video I received the butterfly gold pattern as a gift in the early seventies. Still have them and still using them
They are tough little plates aren’t they? Honestly, I rarely find them chipped like most stoneware dishes. They also stand up in the dishwasher.

The hutch came out just beautiful. I love your dishware collection and your Indiana glasses. I like the way you displayed the coffee cup in the egg basket. Thank you for teaching us the patterns .I own a total of four dishes. I have 2 of the little green flowers pattern and 2 of the of blue flower pattern. I think it’s a new pattern but I ‘m not sure. Corelle dishes have always seemed like "new dishes" to me rather than vintage. I guess it's because I was a new bride when the dishes first came out, but that was way over fifty years ago. So the dishes ARE vintage...and apparently so am I...lol. Love your combination of green and amber glassware. Winner, winner! Looking forward to your next video.

I love all the variety of dishes you have used on your hutch..I have a set of the green n brown glasses..lol..I'm like you, I love to sit n watch other you tubers decorate n craft..I love getting to go thrifting, and finding treasures n used them differently than what they should be used for..lol..I love to think outside the box, and create different styles n vignettes..you do such an amazing job at decorating..you seem to have calm down 100%, since your first videos..I'm so proud for you..keep doing the great work...hope you have a blessed weekend..looking forward to the next video...tfs..

Becky your hutch looks beautiful; I love the combination of white milk glass, the amber and green; I have always liked amber glass in al its beautiful varieties but i was never brave enough to pick up and commit to a full set because i thought it would blend to much with the color of my hutch (I am enemy of painting real beautiful wood 😋) , but now that i saw yours I really want to start collecting depresion glass amber dishware; i have a few pieces like drinking glases and different candy dishes that i decorate with on fall but now I really want the whole thing because it looks gorgeous.
I would like to know how you get your ideas and inspiration to mix in patterns and different types dishes, what's you thinking process before putting together all your beautiful decor. I love your style, the colors you use and the way you combine them to complement each other. It is just lovely!!!!
I try to mix patterns, textures, and colors. I really don’t have a thought process other that staying in the same color family. My house is autumnal colors so I don’t typically add blue or cool colors. I like to add wood and baskets and even ceramic dish ware to break up all the glass and of course greenery to soften all the hardness of the glass. I hope all that makes sense.

We own that full dish set of Corelle Butterfly pattern. I happened to find this looking for how to decorate our built in hutch
I watched a Pyrex video which came up randomly & decided to search "Corelle" since that's what I've got. Lo & behold, this vid was near the top of the search with my own "Butterfly Gold" pattern in it! BUT THEN! My surprise when "Woodland Brown" came up! It's the other design I HAVE!
...My kitchen that I'm getting to decorate myself is green, like the other design, as a bonus lol :)

Hi Karen, I have a short little video showing some of my storage in my video list. It’s the one that says “what’s inside this closet”. I’m not sure what color my walls are. I was supposed to check for another person and I never did. 🤦🏻♀️I don’t LOVE the color because it reminds me of makeup but after I painted the everything it was a little too late and I have learned to like it more.

I have the butterfly pattern set. It was gifted to my husband, who is an internist doctor by a grateful patient, about 40 years ago or more.😊😊😊😅 The interesting fact is that we do not live in North America.😅😅😅
They will last forever. I love using mine as everyday dishware. They are surprisingly hard to break considering how thin they are. You have a vintage treasure.

Hi Kim, Yes there is lighting. I forgot to turn it on for the final reveal. I work at a cardiology practice full time. I have worked there for 11 years. I do billing and coding, I place patients, do some simple testing, and I learned everything through on the job training. I am not a nurse. I have worked there for 11 LONG years. Lol!
Do you eat off your dish wear?
Yes I do but I don’t eat off of my depression glass just because I don’t was to risk a piece getting broken. I use my Corelle, my stone ware, and my Fireking bowls.(and probably more that I can’t remember right now) If it’s not on display it’s in my cabinet.
