I was a young bride in the 70s so all of this is from my era of housekeeping and colors I used...yes avacado green & harvest gold appliances!...I have the green & amber glassware even now!!! 😊
My first home had avocado appliances as well as the sinks and tubs. I remember being devastated when they finally needed to be replaced. My husband and i still threaten to replace all our new pieces with avocado green one day. 😉
I was married in the 70's and those were my colors, I have moved to more of a cottage theme, but your home brings back so many memories. My mother made that afghan and I still have it. I also have a dessert set of Taylor Smith Taylor, they were part of my grandmother's everyday set. Your home is exquisite!
Becky I was a teenager in the 70’s. I painted my bedroom bright yellow. I had floral curtains. My mother swore she would paint that room when I moved out. It’s still yellow. Lols
The six little gold plates you are using in the kitchen corner as a riser for a creamer, are a set we purchased about 1974 from a Safeway grocery store each week with my groceries. Almost 50 years ago now! We were newly married and not much money, so we purchased a few pieces each week.
That afghan sure brought back some memories ! I had forgotten about making those !! The flowers were done on a little loom wrapping the yarn and then crocheted together!! I was a teenager our neighbor and my mom did a couple of these !
Gosh, could not help noticing that you have 5.52K subscribers and your views, 5197. That is really great! I am one of your early regulars but was busy spring cleaning so could not view until today. Glad Summer enjoyed doing the video and still reads the comments. Beautiful afghan! Hobby Lobby has some disc style hangers that I used for all my State plates that I have in my stairwell and not a one has fallen! I used the same glue-backed disc on some Coca Cola trays and they all fell and gave me a heart attack in middle of night. The wire hangers have been the most universal and reliable for me.
Hi Diane! I know! So many new friends on the channel. I hope all the new people are as positive as you all. I know that the more channels grow not everyone is your friend you know! But so far so good. I will check out the disc shaped hangers at Hobby Lobby, always looking for a good reliable way to hang plates.
I’ve started collecting the 70’s plates as well because it brings back fond memories of my beautiful mama we lost last April. The 70’s were my childhood years. I was so curious how it would look displaying plates on walls in other rooms, but it is absolutely beautiful so thank you for showing how that looks.
Oh my, that afghan does take my breath away too. So bright and cheerful wherever you use it. I can't wait to see what Lily does with the treasures you are passing on to her. I think it is wonderful that y'all share similar tastes. I love all your ideas for plate displays. I keep my dining room table decorated also. It is close to the door we use to enter the house and if it wasn't decorated it would end up as a catch all table. But because it looks pretty, even my hubby refrains from setting anything down on it. 😃
Love all your vintage dishes. I got married in the 70’s and had a lot of dishes with the bright flowers on them. Brings back beautiful memories. Love your decor and how different yours is compared to the others I watch that their homes are all white. 😊
My attention span just gives up on me with all the neutral content out there. They all have such beautiful homes but I feel like they all look the same. My soul needs all the colors.
Oh Becky I love all of your ideas. I must say I Love all of your dishes. That quilt is absolutely Beautiful. Thank you for sharing this video with us. So until next time God Bless you and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend.
I love watching your videos! I graduated high school in 1975. Looking at your dishes, glassware, etc... brings back pleasant memories. Blessings, Brenda in Arizona
Thank you for this video! All 6 places in which you incorporated plates were super inspiring to me… even as you mentioned for other collectibles that give one joy! My favorite plate display in your home is the vertically hung plates on the wall to the right of your hutch… so beautiful! BTW~ Your scrapbooks are absolutely beautiful & reflect creativity & most of all, your love for your precious family! P.S. Meeting your daughter was joy! I was blown away by her multiple gifts as an Artist, Designer (etc.), & more importantly her beautiful personality; who she is! Her house is absolutely beautiful as is her taste! I was touched by the gorgeous pieces that her father made for her & the pieces that her father & husband collaborated on together. The plates above the kitchen sink definitely are living there best lives there! I loved that subtle charming touch… stunning! (-Hope she keeps them there & hope she keeps her floral pieces right along with her newer pieces! It all works beautifully together!) More fun than seeing your daughter’s home was… meeting her! 💐
Finally found someone who loves dishes and displays them like me! I decorate my dining room every month with dishes. We have people over so table is always set. I collect transfer ware, Brown ironstone ( Hull) Fiestaware, ( bright colors) Homer Laughlin, and have other just to decorate table or shelves with. Love your home. It’s very cohesive. - watching from Lake Wales, Florida
I love that! Changing things out is so much fun. I would love to share my sister in laws collection of blue and white dishes. You may like seeing that.
Per usual, you shared some creative ideas for sure! However, I must say, now when I go thrifting, I can’t find any dishes I’m looking for but can always find a plate I think you would like. 😜 That afghan is perfect. It definitely had your name written all over it. You have some of the sweetest followers.
What a breath-taking video . Those yellow, browns, beige, colors are for a bright sunny person as yourself, and I mean it as a compliment. You sound happy, full of life, and your whole house is so inviting. I love your video and hope to see more. Jane
I remember them as a child in the 80's. That's why they are so nostalgic for me. I don't have anything of my mother's so little things like that just make me so happy to have in my home.
What a great video! I love the way you decorate and I love all of your vintage pieces and all of the items you are giving your sweet daughter! Vintage is beautiful and yes that sunflower pillow is glorious! I also love that beautiful daisy afghan on the back of your couch behind you! Thank you Becky! 💖💕💗
Thank you so much Becky for the shout out and link to my embroidery shop. It is greatly appreciated. The blanket looks beautiful and perfect in your home. It was made to be in your home. Enjoy it and I will keep my eyes out if I see other things I think you would like. God bless you. Erika
Becky love the throw on your couch . You were blessed to have it gifted to you beautiful . I was looking at vintage you may have in your home . Your plates were in the collection of growing in value . I thought of you . I've enjoyed this video . Till next time have a great upcoming weekend .❤❤😊
I know Kathy, I have been pricing them online and good grief. One plate with shipping is around 20.00 a plate. That’s why I am so excited to find them while thrifting.
I love flowers and decorating my home with them. And I have always loved those floral stoneware plates, picking them up , myself, at the thrift stores. Thank you so much for your ideas. I know I'm gonna love your channel !💗(this is only my 2nd one so far) The blanket or Afghan over the back of your sofa was an awesome gift!!
Hi Rebecca and welcome to the channel! I am a sucker for floral patterns. That quilt is the most amazing gift I will never get over how much I love it.
Becky, I think it is fine to use plates in any room of your home. All your vignettes look nice. I love all your plates. Thanks for all the different styling options.
I hang plates in the bathroom too !🤗🤗🤗🤗. I love your vignettes. I love using plates in vignettes and on my mantel and my hutch ! The amber glass in your hutch looks great ….what a grand collection 🎉🎉 celebrate ! Your table looks super 🤗🤗
First time watcher, I absolutely love your dishes and decor!! My grandmother used stoneware dishes with the orange colors…she passed them on to my daughter… wonderful memories of eating delicious meals at her house. 🧡💛
Welcome to the channel Trisha, I believe that is the reason I was drawn to them in the first place. They remind me of a simpler time and being back so many good memories.
I Love All your dishes . I collect the Stoneware that is Hearthside Prairie Flowers , The green glass and the Amber glass also. Also the Anchor Hocking that has green flowers. My kitchen is Avocado Green with all vintage metal Canister's and Bread box. I Love your different ideas for decorating. It gives me inspiration to display mine now. Thank you
Love seeing your collection! I like to collect hand thrown pottery, both new and vintage. I like unique plates, so I really don’t have much, but I live what I have!
Becky it's always a joy to see you!!!!Your dishes and glassware are beautiful!!I like the look of the plates on your wall vertically next to your hutch!!!Everything looks really pretty and cheerful!!!!Have a lovely weekend!😁🌷🦋🌼🌹🐞🌻😊
I recall that plate pattern. Stoneware is strong and always lasts. I loved the stoneware mugs of wildflowers from the 70s. You are always cheerful and sweet. I get excited to hear your welcoming voice.
Hi Becky, so enjoyed watching this video, thank you for sharing your creative ideas. I have been visiting my youngest son and his wife who live in coastal Maine. It was a great visit including trips to thrift stores and antique malls. I had to keep to very tiny treasures to bring home in my carryon. One of the antique malls, 1A Relics in Ellsworth Maine was incredible!! Think the Winchester Mystery House meets the Antique RoadShow!! Over 12,000 sq ft over 3 floors with 125+ vendors. Take care.
You have to be careful with the metal plate holders! They can chip your plates! I couldn’t tell if yours had the plastic protective tubes on the end. Some come with them. I agree I don’t trust any stick-on type. LOVE the idea of mixing, layering plates with wicker! Love your kitchen counter vignettes! You’ve given me a new appreciation for that color scheme of dishes! Thx!
I just love your dishes and the colors in your home are so perfect. It is all so cohesive and calming. I am also in love with the sunflower throw! I also have many dishes I use for decor in my home. I have collected a number of Currier and Ives plates to display and I love the blue and white. I adore flow blue too so have some of that in a curio. I have my eyes out now for some stoneware or ironstone pieces like you have in your home. I display some amber glass in the fall and even though I can't change my whole house, I think it would be perfect to find some of the pieces you have to put out in August until I get ready to put up my vintage Christmas decor. I can't wait to see what Lily thinks and does with her new pieces. Thank You so much!
That all sound so beautiful Kathy! I have been begging my sister in law since I started this channel to let me film all her currier and Ives. We just can’t get our schedules together. I think you would love it.
The ones in the introduction….I sold those as a cashier at a Colonial/Big Star grocery store in 1976/77. You got a free piece with X amount spent on groceries. I won a set for selling so many pieces.
This is a great video, all of the different place setting are wonderful ideas thank you for sharing these awesome displays and vignettes. And very affordable. Love your channel
Your straight in a line dishes can be put up like a zigzag layout from top to bottom. Use your other dishes and try it on the ground. You can put them closer together but from right to left because they are round it will fit more on this wall try it you might like it. ❣️if you don’t understand what I mend me a message👍🏼
I love that you enjoy all the glassware and dishes. My sisters and I do as well. My mother loved amber colored glass and I do as well. I have not collected a lot of anything but love crystal and do have a lot of that. Crystal and silver is my love! Wishing I had a closet to put all of my things in but I do display in cabinets and hutches and on the sides shelves of my grandfather clock. I need to purge and share with my daughters and granddaughters but it's so hard to let go. They will get them someday I am sure. I love listening to you......your voice is delightful and very calming. I feel peaceful after watching your videos. I want to go and check your daughters apartment video as well. Thank you for sharing and I would love to see some of the woodworking your husband and father have made. The bedroom is almost identical to me I couldn't believe it but mine is glass top one long cabinet in which there is underlighting and glass shelves for display. Your father did a beautiful job on that bedroom set and the talent is amazing. How blessed you are with those craftsmen in your family. Have a blessed week. Ty for sharing all your lovely items with us. Just lovely!!
Thank you so much, I am so thankful that they are such talented woodworkers. We have made quite the collection of family treasures that will hopefully be passed down to our future generations.
Just found your video and love the way you decorate. I also collect the amber glass. started out with a candy dish my grandmother gave me, then it just grew from there. I usually put mine out in the fall, I like to switch out my dishes and collections.
There is nothing more beautiful (decorating wise) than amber glass in a fall Tablescape. Glad you found my channel, always glad to welcome a fellow amber glass lover around here.
Omg becky I'm so excited to see the title of this video 😍😍 I also have a love for vintage plates, and I've started hanging them around my house 🥰🥰 Love your channel, thank you for sharing ❤️ 🤗
I have nostalgic dishes, very similar to your dishes above your bed and in your bathroom. They were in my cupboard for many years (some I use) but thanks to your channel, I now have them hung around my house because they are definitely pieces of art and now my eyes are drawn to dishes when I'm out thrifting to add to my collection 😂 You have inspired me and I truly love seeing these plates hanging up now and making my heart happy 🤗🥰 Thankyou becky for the lovely idea for sharing your home with us, and now i patiently wait every Friday (in Australia) to see another video pop up 😊 🤗🥰
Those metal plate hangers are notorious for damaging plates, so be careful when using those! I love vintage dishes, but stoneware is a little heavy for me. I still use my vintage Pfaltzgraff Yorktowne stoneware, however. I just try to deal with the weight. But I have some Corelle that I use for every day that are much lighter, lol! Your vintage dishes are awesome!
Hey Becky, I’ve been following you for a little while. I love everything you do! It’s so much like my style and it’s hard to find wonderful people like you and your family. I also love that you talk about your faith. Keep doing what you do, girl! Much love, Renee
I love your home and video I I love the 60s and 70s and iv spent the last year doing every room in in my 3.bedroom house a had new kitchen and I'm still looking for vintage stuff but the charity shops hear in England are not that good. Carol in England
Wonderful ideas. That ONE plate you have that you are showing displayed in your kitchen I have 4 of I would love to give you. I wish you were closer to me, I'm in East Tennessee & I would love to pass them to you. They are in a box getting ready to go to the thrift store. I am trying to purge alittle & I found a vintage Syracuse China set I love. Service of 6 with cup/saucers & serving bowl, 25 pcs for $12. Anyway it made my month. Know anyone near me that could pick them up for you?
I'm so in love with your style of decor. Hubby and I (60's) just moved into a very modern condo but I still want to decorate it all vintage but how????
My house is modern, (I mean as modern as a 20 something year old home can be) I just use warm colors, warm whites, lots of wooden pieces, lots of layering, and lots of textures. Hope this helps!❤️
Just found you on my feed. Love your taste. I am also a fan of 70s and earlier decor. Are your gold /amber glass kitchen canisters from Anchor Hocking ? You made my day.
Thank you Sandra, I have always thought the canisters to be LE Smith but sometimes it is hard to identify glass because different males had the same mold so I could be wrong.
Becky, you sound like me n my daughter..I will buy something at the thrift store, and say...I'm not giving this piece to her..lol..it really has to be something I'm searching for, or really love, or I will give in n give it to her..and some times we will swap up items..we worked on a home today, trying to finish up getting it decorated, but still gotta find a few more items, before we call it done..lol..I enjoyed the video..alot of the plates you have in your hutch or on ur wall...we had growing up..I sometimes wish I would have held onto a few pieces of them, but I didnt..😪...tfs..
I bet you and your daughter are having so much fun decorating together. I don’t mind giving them anything I have but I guess I do get stingy with my vintage stuff. Lol!
@@MyLittleVintageHome we do, but some times we but heads..lol..but in the end, we get it done..lol..looking forward to Lilys decorate "with her goodies"..
Welcome to the channel Carol, you’re going to see me at my worst if you go all the way back to the beginning. Lol! I am definitely not technologically inclined. 😂
Thank you so much, the Taylor Smith and Taylor plate are all so pretty. I am just drawn to them for some reason.
Becky I was a teenager in the 70’s. I painted my bedroom bright yellow. I had floral curtains. My mother swore she would paint that room when I moved out. It’s still yellow. Lols
What a sweet story, she probably couldn’t bring herself to painting all those precious memories away.
Wow love the afghan on your couch behind you! Your so lucky Becky love it. Love your stoneware dishes too. 🌻💛🤎..
I would say 70s..yellow plate on back wall my mother-in-law had .some of those plates are getting valuable 🎉😊
You’re not kidding. I have been looking online and these plate plus shipping are no less than 20.00 each. It’s crazy!
The six little gold plates you are using in the kitchen corner as a riser for a creamer, are a set we purchased about 1974 from a Safeway grocery store each week with my groceries. Almost 50 years ago now! We were newly married and not much money, so we purchased a few pieces each week.
That is so interesting, why can't they still do this? I barely remember green stamps but that quickly died out. I would be collecting all the goodies.
I collected dishes that way to get many different sets...that was great to do and did not break the budget! Good memories!😊
That afghan sure brought back some memories ! I had forgotten about making those !! The flowers were done on a little loom wrapping the yarn and then crocheted together!! I was a teenager our neighbor and my mom did a couple of these !
I just missed the era where everyone knew how to crochet. I have always wanted to learn.

I love that afghan behind you. Looks like a field of sunflowers behind u.
Isn't it glorious! I just keep looking at it and smiling!
I remember that afghan from the 70’s and the plate, too!! Thx for sharing! It’s like a blast from the past but and updated version, love it! TFS! Xo ❤

Hi Becky love the plates love your amber glass i love everything you do you are very creative.POPI.. 🌹🌷👍
Thank you so much John! 😊
The one you glued to the candle holder is most likely ironstone. I consider the top of my hutch another shelf, so I decorate it too.
I think it is ironstone. It has some beautiful crazing in it.
Becky, I once own your dishware in the 80’s. I loved it. I think I gave it away in all my moving.
I remember them as a child in the 80's. That's why they are so nostalgic for me. I don't have anything of my mother's so little things like that just make me so happy to have in my home.

Thanks so much Gayle, I definitely own the most glorious pillow and afghan in all the planet. Every time I look at them I get a big smile on my face.
Your plates in the bathroom become more like flower tiles than plates so they are not weird to me..i like!😊
Oh thank you Sherill. I am glad they went over well. I didn’t know if people would think I was crazy. 😉
I love all your stoneware and the beautiful ways you display it. And the Castilian is GORGEOUS!! Your videos are great!
Thank you so much Lisbeth! ❤️❤️
We never called this a blanket. My mother made this exact piece and she called it an afghan. I still have it.
I can see that with this particular design because it's so open. it would do a really good job of keeping you warm but it sure is pretty to look at. 😉
Thank you so much Becky for the shout out and link to my embroidery shop. It is greatly appreciated. The blanket looks beautiful and perfect in your home. It was made to be in your home. Enjoy it and I will keep my eyes out if I see other things I think you would like. God bless you. Erika

I need to put that bucket back out again. I haven’t used it since 4th of July.
Love the blanket on your couch! Looks like you love yellow!
I love yellow and brown and orange and all the colors. This afghan is a perfect reflection of me. 😉

@@MyLittleVintageHome Tell her an admiring fan can't wait. 😂
Enjoyed the video, love the afgan,so beautiful ❤️😊
I am so in love with this afghan, I just keep stairing at it and smiling.
Thank you Miss Becky❤️ So many great ideas to display🧡💛🤎
So glad we touched Summer’s heart with 💗 & positivity❣️
You all truly did Betsy, she was so nervous and you all just made her feel like she was the best decorator in the world.
You are like a breath of fresh air
Awe thank you so much Betty! ❤️you just made my day.
The ones in the introduction….I sold those as a cashier at a Colonial/Big Star grocery store in 1976/77. You got a free piece with X amount spent on groceries. I won a set for selling so many pieces.
How cool! ❤
This is a great video, all of the different place setting are wonderful ideas thank you for sharing these awesome displays and vignettes.
And very affordable. Love your channel
Thank you so much for all your sweet comments my friend❤️❤️
O.g that was so nice the blanket !!! Awesome
Right! It’s bringing a smile to my face every time I look at it.
Beautiful. Love it
Your straight in a line dishes can be put up like a zigzag layout from top to bottom. Use your other dishes and try it on the ground. You can put them closer together but from right to left because they are round it will fit more on this wall try it you might like it. ❣️if you don’t understand what I mend me a message👍🏼
Thanks Terry, hopefully my collection will grow and I can try this out.
Nice video! Loved the antique plates this were my fave fs☺️😘🩷
Thank you Mia❤️
You have wonderful ideas for decor, you’re very inspirational TFS 🌺🌺
Thank you so much Dora! 😊
Great Video Becky!!! ❤
Beautiful
That is so exciting to me. Do you collect a certain color palate? I’m just curious what others are drawn to.
I have nostalgic dishes, very similar to your dishes above your bed and in your bathroom. They were in my cupboard for many years (some I use) but thanks to your channel, I now have them hung around my house because they are definitely pieces of art and now my eyes are drawn to dishes when I'm out thrifting to add to my collection 😂 You have inspired me and I truly love seeing these plates hanging up now and making my heart happy 🤗🥰
Thankyou becky for the lovely idea for sharing your home with us, and now i patiently wait every Friday (in Australia) to see another video pop up 😊 🤗🥰
@@kristysmith8286 oh thank you so much Kristy that just makes my whole day! I am so glad that you are enjoying your beautiful plates. ❤️❤️❤️
I just love your videos 😊
Thank you so much Cheryl! 😊😊😊
I use my Corelle every day too.
I really did enjoyed video thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Mehri! 😊😊😊
Hey Becky, I’ve been following you for a little while. I love everything you do! It’s so much like my style and it’s hard to find wonderful people like you and your family. I also love that you talk about your faith. Keep doing what you do, girl! Much love, Renee
Thank you so much Renee, and thank you for saying such sweet things. Xoxo
I love your home and video I I love the 60s and 70s and iv spent the last year doing every room in in my 3.bedroom house a had new kitchen and I'm still looking for vintage stuff but the charity shops hear in England are not that good. Carol in England
I've often wondered if the thrift stores and antique stores in England are full of much older items since England is so much older than the US.
Hi Becky! Love your beautiful amber glass and dishware absolutely love!! New subscriber 💕💕
Oh thank you so much! Welcome to the channel!
That is so sweet Brenda, I appreciate the thought. I know someone will see them in the thrift store and be as happy to find them as I would.
@@MyLittleVintageHome Thanks so much Becky! I will try. You're the greatest. My favorite you tuber 🤗
I have the exact same lamp!
Great minds think alike!!!❤️
New subscriber from sommers video. Bingeing now.
Welcome to the channel Carol, you’re going to see me at my worst if you go all the way back to the beginning. Lol! I am definitely not technologically inclined. 😂
Where is the beautiful blanket on the couch from?
That beauty was a gift from a subscriber. I am LOVEing it so much right now. My son in law even came in saying how pretty it is.
Your dishes are beautiful have you thrifting the majority of them?
Yes ma’am I love thrifting and the dish section is my first stop. 😉
I love you
I love you too Janet!!!xoxox
