    Does Tesco sell bags of frozen fruit or veggies? I'm in Canada and our store brands usually do. Defrosting some frozen fruits in the fridge overnight then straining out the water might help with the fresh food cravings. I get frozen berries for my smoothies and will sometimes thaw them and eat them with a spoon when I want fruit but can't be bothered to go to the store.

    • @TheSimplicated123
      @TheSimplicated123 7 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    • @WhyMe4747

    17p for 2L of cola! That's cheaper than the value WATER from Sainsburys, which is 25p for 2L. Surely the bottle costs more to make than that!

    • @professortbag
      @professortbag 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      "Bread stored in the refrigerator will dry out and become stale much faster than bread stored at room temperature. For longer-term storage, you should freeze bread. Soft-crusted, pre-sliced breads will keep fresh for up to a week at room temperature; be sure to keep the original packaging tightly closed after each use" That was just a google away but what I see the general consensus is bread bin or freeze it, never put it in the fridge

    I always see a Tesco value Swiss roll for 15p and wonder to myself how a company makes that product, sells it for a profit and then Tesco add their profit and tax and it's still only 15p. The answer is Palm Oil. If it's Tesco value brand and it contains fat I guarantee it will be palm oil or "vegetable fat"

    Just an FYI. The uncut fresh baked small bread in Tesco is only 60p. I know it's not technically the value stuff, but it's what 15p more expensive and anyone who is buying value stuff should definitely go with the fresh baked. It also lasts way longer and the taste difference is amazing

    So is Tesco value the cheapest brand sold in Tesco stores?

      KA HE Yep

    • @Robert_B_445
      @Robert_B_445 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Pretty much. Although there are two types of Tesco own brand goods - (everyday)Value, and Finest. Of course, as the name suggests, the Finest range is higher quality than the Value range. And of course Tesco sell branded goods too.

    I've tried the slightly more expensive tesco cola (perhaps 60p I don't remember) the one with the red label out of curiosity and can say that it's quite nice! not as good as Coca-Cola or Bar's cola but still nice

    You'd be amazed how many people I've seen in Tesco with a trolley load of stuff containing probably 70% upwards of everyday value products.

    That's a rarity. I never see frozen stuff that recommends frying let alone deep frying anymore. I don't think fish fingers or the other type of processed frozen food we used to eat fried as kids list it on the back now, it's all oven baking and the grilling.
    I did buy some frozen thin cut fries I noticed in the shop the other week for the purposes of deep frying because I want to see if they turn out like burger chain ones. They recommend oven baking them only. EXCITING STUFF THIS!

      A tonne of frozen stuff I buy don't suggest frying or deep frying, but they fry up just fine. Doesn't really matter as long as the thing gets cooked.

    Store brand bread can be hit-or-miss. Maybe it's fine, maybe it's garbage, maybe it has a short shelf life before it gets rather green. Someplace I used to live had Save-a-lot and their bread would last 3-4 days before it started to become penicillin. I moved a hour away and at the Save-a-lot there the bread was good. So who knows?

    I'll be very disappointed if there's no Tesco Value Gin or Wine by the end of this.
    And the meat content of that ham is perfectly normal (if not slightly above average) for pre-packaged ham.

    That package of cooked ham would cost at least 6 dollars for the cheap no name brand if I could find one that size. They usually come in a package about 1/4 the size for 3.99.

    • @zentaidesign952
      @zentaidesign952 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Also, it’s branded as bread not toast, so it should be good by itself

      More like "bread". Technically it counts as bread, but chemically it's more like a really crappy piece of cake.
