Evri insurance doesn't cover your vehicle if you are in an accident and your insurer may void your insurance as you are using your vehicle for business use and not domestic. You need goods of carriage/higher and reward insurance if you want to deliver parcels/food legally. Not sure if you have a yodel where you are but they pay a better parcel rate at £1 per parcel compared to Evri which pay difference rates for different weighted parcels. Yodel has a customer who only pay 75pence on their parcels but could still be better than Evri.
Feel ya man, I’m a lifestyle courier … 6 months in and I’m averaging 1.7k doing about 2000 parcels per month using a Vauxhall crossland (small SUV) The downside is that I’m doing different areas most days and they are usually 5-6 hours on average. Delivering in the dark is the world’s worst too. I sense you are doing a similar gig? Re, eating and drinking - like you to trying to get the calories in but when on route you find yourself stopping 2 or more times which eats a bit of time depending on where you are. I find myself either drinking minimal amounts and then sufferings with headaches in return which really needs sorting. Are you still with the flex? I applied but yet to jump on it. Also, are you setting your own ETA’s? It takes the edge off massively in terms of getting each job delivered on time (in your own time) vs keeping up with the speeds set by the app. Anyway keep up the grind man. Half the battle is in the mind and if you can convince yourself and your mind that things will work then you need not worry. God usually had a plan … trust the process. Peace.
Can they not give you a permanent round? As trying to increase the efficiency and reduce lost time is going to be impossible when the route/round changes. Which part of the uk are are you based in? Yes, trying to deliver in the dark was defiantly increased the time it was taking me as most houses dont seem to have house numbers on them!. yes flex took around a day or two and then they wanted me to come in to do the training which wasnt really much training as i was hardly there and the next day i was out delivering. Yes, when i was setting the etas i increased the delivering rate to i was never late but the biggest thing i found is to increase efficacy alot was insted of nocking just put the parcel in the safe place as its better to run the risk of them saying they not recived it because if the parcel dosnt get delviered you dont get paid and when the next day comes im never short of parcels and hardly anyone complained. The small extra ecentive they give you to deliver on time and get high custmer service is BS. They dont care about customer service because if they did their custmer service wouldnt be all automated. Hope that makes sense and if any questions feel free to ask and i try and help where i can. Notifcations dosnt seem to show when someone leaves a comment. Also thanks the kind words brother.
Go by draft, get a list of postcodes put them in google. That will show you which roads that should go in order. The postcode closest to you set as start point and the furthest set as finish. Then before you set off manually put them in order. Takes a little more time but if you got the same round you soon get the speed of it and that will reduce the amount of times you drive down the same roads.
