The Halo 4: The Movie (Director's Cut) is the culmination of of months of work. I've really enjoyed working on this edit, spending countless hours trying to find the best angles and action to really give the video a cinematic feel. I feel like we've gotten much better from our Halo Reach Director's Cut. This is certainly not perfect but we feel that if you're a fan of Halo 4 it s well worth your time. We hope you enjoy!.
What is a "Director's Cut:"
The "Director's Cut" is not an official version of Halo 4. It is our personal edit of the story, using theater mode to capture various angles to create our custom version of the story. We have also done a "Director's Cut" of Halo Reach which you can check out here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUbKc...
How did we get theater mode in Halo 4 Campaign?:
All credit goes to Lord Zedd ( / tehbanstick . He created the mod to unlock theater on the Halo 4 campaign. Big shout out to him for taking the time to help us figure it out. We could have never done it without him.
Limitations:
Theater mode wasn't in Halo 4 campaign for a reason. As it is, it is a incomplete version of the Halo Reach theater. You cannot rewind, only restart an entire vid. During quick-time-events the camera goes haywire, and you are unable to capture any different angles. This is a basic theater mode, but nonetheless we feel we can still make an outstanding product if we plan out our angles and take our time.
We appreciate any constructive feedback you can give us. We ask you to keep in mind that while you will have some great suggestions, we are also limited by the theater's abilities. We hope you enjoy the series!

I just wanted to say Thank You, Since My Little Brother passed away I really don't enjoy playing video games anymore. I just can't seem to stay on any one game for more than a few minutes without losing interest. My brother would call me so excited about a game that was coming out and I would buy it so that we could play it together. We would take turns. One of us would watch the walk through and the other would play until we died and then switch. Now that he is gone. I just don't find any joy in the games any more. The best part of the games for me was the time I spent with him and the cutscenes. You making these cutscenes movies are a blessing. I have watched a couple of your videos and have enjoyed them all. Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos.

your right, he is a cosmic being that somehow created the known universe in his image, well guess what chestnut, If he DOES exist, he has long lost interest in humanity, I am a very hateful person, and even I wouldn't let MY creations war against each other, I just wouldn't stand for it, I'd intervene, and don't say "Oh, but he doesn't want to interfere with our development" bullshit, yeah fucking right, If he exists, he doesn't give two shits about humanity anymore, not in the thousands of years we have existed, and I think that there is just one god is also a bunch of horse shit, It doesn't make two flying fucks worth of sense that there is one "Almighty" god, it makes 100% more sense for there to be MANY gods (Notice I said GODS) that have one or a set of specific focuses, like Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Norse religions with groups of gods, Christianity and other religions that have one god are fooling themselves, Nothing is willing to give something else absolute power, not even the universe.

honestly, the amount of work you put into this deserves so much more recognition, some of these shots are professional Hollywood levels of cinematic

Wow that was fantastic. Now I have been able to put all the cut scenes together with extra bits and fully understand Halo 4 without even playing Halo at all. And to put the music to scenes was even better. Thanks heaps mate. Keep up the good work.

Halo 4 was my introduction to the Halo series. While not the best Halo game, It defiantly holds a special place in my heart.

If only halo 5 kept this story going, where if cortana stayed dead chief would be in pain and know what it feels to lose someone he cares about. PTSD and regret could have been the theme for halo 5 where chief went rogue and his team went after him first, only to side with him to try and help him. Locke can then be asked to hunt him but maybe just along side buck, those two other girls never mattered, or if anything they could have eventually tagged along and we learn about them throughout the journey. God halo 5 should have been great
+Darius Gonzalez so much wasted potential, I completely agree about H5. I always felt like Halo 4 was underrated too, felt like fans just piled on because it wasn't Bungle. Multiplayer was meh, but story and campaign we're fun imo

It's a minor nitpick, but it seems like most people miss the Covenant Transmission on repeat right after entering the Shield World when Chief's amongst the reckage at 14:30. It gives a clue onto what the Covenant are after, as it's repeating "Didact" over and over.
I love it how you’ve made it more like a movie by us actually looking at master chief and that there’s actually gameplay in here and man the didactic’s speach is pretty badass😎😊👍🏻 it’s very interesting how he tells chief time was your ally but now it has abandoned you I love it how the soldiers salute to you as you go past showing you respect that del Rio should’ve shown you its so awesome when he stands up to and shuts that dosh bag up😄😄😄😄😎😎😎😎😊👍🏻!!! And to be fair I actually kinda liked it how they made master chief more human in this game I prefer him being his own character instead of being the player’s vessel he’s even more badass now😄😄😄😄😎😎😎😎😊👍🏻!!! I love it how he looks at earth 🌏 one more time and then badassly screams just before the nuke blows up
The amount of flawless editing that goes into videos like this never cease to amaze me. I love how you took other soundtracks(Like Halo: Forward Unto Dawn) and put it into otherwise-bland scenes.

Especially the part where you added in the Chief's memories from that one trailer. Right before the Didact throws him away in their first encounter. Along with the Forward unto dawn soundtrack being added in during the Reclaimer level. Awesome work man. THANKS!

This was my first time seeing it done this way. Other times it's just game play and cutscenes. This really did play out like a movie and was a joy to watch. Great work. Beutiful cutscenes and stitching in the some live action to tell the story better. Will there be a (Halo 5 Director's cut)?

117 is so much bigger than those Spartan IV's.
Well yeah he has way more augmentation done to him than Spartan IV's. Pretty much all Spartan II's are just under or just at 7 feet tall out side of armor and a little over 7 feet in armor. He's also way stronger and has way more combat experience.
This makes me want a 3rd person option in Halo so bad!

Did you create or use a screenplay or shootlist before you put this together? I'm looking at developing a short film using 3D technology and I'm always looking to see how someone put the resources together to produce something like this. I would be very interested in the screenplay or shootlist to follow along with the movie.

Seriously, in terms of game movies and production value, this is by far the bet game movie ever made. Hope you decide to do that GTA 5 Director's Cut. Would be utterly legendary
This was well done, but honestly if you had just done the game play in first person view for more of it, I think it would had been more cinematic. The clunkyness of the movement in 3rd person takes away from the whole experience. Well eddied though for sure.

Question. Weren't the flood the greatest thing the forerunners fought. Not saying humanity isn't kick ass and all, but the flood are pretty crazy. Amazing video by the way!
Pre-Purge Humans were highly evolved, high tech and spread out, Rivaling and almost replacing the Forerunners. Ironically, way back then, they were allied with the prophets' species and Helped the prophets evolve. Current Humans haven't even gotten to the halfway point the Ancient Humans evolution in technology got. But Ancient Humans were also getting beat by the flood as well because the Flood was something much more powerful before.
The Forerunners weren't always the top species, they were Created by the Precursors whose technology was so far advanced that it seemed like magic to the lower species. But the Forerunners eventually tried to steal the Godlike technology and the position the Precursors had: "The Mantle" Guardians to the Universes. The Precursors had lived forever already and didn't want to harm their own creations, they turned themselves into organic powder to avoid extinction, powder on ships sent to various planets, unknown to everyone.
Humans found these powders and put them into their version of wild dogs to tame the animals and also discovered the powder was a psychedelic to the Human species. The drugged Humans and animals became the first flood, causing planets to shut down and leading to every species uniting against the flood, Forerunners had the best plans, like planet sized shields(one of which was left on earth and can still be completed). But only Galactic Nukes (Halo Arrays) + harvesting species worked out in the long run.
During the old Flood Wars though, the Ancient Humans found the Last of the Precursors in stasis and treated it like an Oracle. A group of Humans asked it about the goal, nature and origin of the Flood, most of the group were deeply horrified to the point of suicide.

Wsalavarr- Salavarria At the end of Halo 3, Chief and the Arbiter escape The Ark with the Forward Unto Dawn. The ship splits in half during the slipspace jump sending the half Chief was in into unknown space. He got inside the chamber to "sleep" until someone found them. You should look for the Halo 3 Legendary Ending video to see it in action.

ok so i get that they want to do there own art style but WHY did they change how the Chief looked IN THE PAST!?
they retroactively changed how Mjulnir armor looked when i was a kid just so it fit the new art direction as if the armor has ALWAYS looked like shit!
the only one in the 343 style who looks half decent is Master Chief cause he still looks kinda like the old style!
The flashback with the new armor has been said by 343 that it isn’t canon, or it did happened but with the old armor.
