    Great stuff! After your pond video, I found a cheaper version of a plate with a blank space image and ordered it to try my hand at some of this stuff. Your work and sharing really are appreciated so much!

    This is beyond brilliant. I love wearing darker colors, but have trouble finding polish that stamps over them. I am definitely going to give this a try. I don't have the blank space make your mark plate. But i can try the smushy method or using a nail mat. I can't wait to give this a try!! Thanks for sharing this!

      I tried this tonight and have a problem. The colors get stuck to the plate with the white. Am I moving to slow or not letting it dry enough when i try to pick up the white. The white just isn't picking up fully. Only part images.

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try moving faster. Only the non image portions should stick to the plate.

    So cool! Question: why didn't the stamp pick up white polish on the portions there weren't red/yellow, instead of all over? That's the desired outcome, but why does it work that way?

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The white is usually too dry to pick up.

  • @iamsheileen
    @iamsheileen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What tool are you using to clean the plate? Also what are you holding the 2nd nail with when you are comparing the two at the end? They are probably something really obvious but whatever it is I don't know it so I'm asking, please!

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using a large plastic clothes pin from the Dollar Tree to hold my cotton round/lint free wipe. I used either clear nail sticks like these: www.ebay.com/p/2212166708?iid=272825615519&rt=nc Or a magnetic nail stand with blue tac www.ebay.com/i/253494067507?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=253494067507&targetid=537215823568&device=t&mktype=pla&googleloc=9029013&poi=&campaignid=6470546568&mkgroupid=81274342447&rlsatarget=aud-762207186714:pla-537215823568&abcId=1139336&merchantid=110907870&gclid=Cj0KCQiA0ZHwBRCRARIsAK0Tr-ouRTGIDJgr0vvybazDkeBVeyj6-RvyoKJWxsgaTAM-w_W7uDjsBPsaAib0EALw_wcB

    OK. Now that's cool. I'm a bit behind I s'pose in that this is the first time I've heard of the term double process stamping. How interesting. Would you have to do this using a mostly negative space image, or would it work with any design? I've done several manis where this technique would have definitely helped with the color pay off of the stamped image. TYFS :)

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're using it for color payoff you need the blank space like image first. If you're doing more traditional double processed stamping, you can use any two designs but in my experience it's difficult to find two images that look good together.

    • @lindadonegan2853
      @lindadonegan2853 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Couldn't you use the smoosh technique using various colors then the white over the actual design you want on your nail ? That might work for those who don't own that plate with the blank square.

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you probably could. Good idea!

    • @jenniferhogan7347
      @jenniferhogan7347 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the Lina plate with the negative space, as well as another with several shapes which are blank. I was referring to the actual image that is being stamped. Would it need to be a negative space image, or could any image potentially be used? Thank you both for your help and interaction. I get so much useful info 😊

    • @KyongLee
      @KyongLee  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, any image will work. Because I had a specific combo in mind, I needed a negative space image but it doesn't matter.

  • @juwster
    @juwster 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    What type of material are you using to clean your plates? I find most lint free wipes to be too thin. I also like the fact that your "claw" appears to be a clamp. The other type can easily scratch the plate.

    • @KyongLee

      This one is my favorite but it's got ammonia so it's stinky which a lot of people don't like. www.amazon.com/Kangaroos-Professional-Grade-Liquid-Makeup/dp/B011X3C8CK?keywords=Liquid+latex&qid=1537478349&sr=8-8&ref=sr_1_8
