These Dark Knight Movie Masters figures have a special meaning to me...

With recent news and leaks surrounding McFarlane Toys releasing their own 7 inch figures later in the spring, I got a bit nostalgic and dug up two of the Mattel Dark Knight movie masters figures. Aside from reminiscing of old times, these two additions to my collections also have a personal meaning to me unlike any other toy I've collected.

I used to collect only 3 3/4 inch Star Wars figures, but this line got me into collecting 6 inch figures and even though at first I only wanted the Batman and Joker figures, I ended up getting most of the other ones too. And I still have all of them to this day, nicely displayed together in a glass cabin. They hold a special place in my heart and I gotta say they still look great next to each other 🤩

Bro, movie masters were the shit! Back in the day, always wanted em jut they were never available in sweden. Love em though, led me to getting the hot toys figures in the end but will always have a special soft spot for these & the new mcfarlanes give the same vibes

I was amazed at the amount of Mattel sculpting on that bale suit in 2008, but the proportions of those Movie Masters didn't age well.

The articulation and detail might be dated, but these figures helped spark a collecting craze I haven’t let go of.

I had basically a collection starting with these two and the Rise wave since they had that BAF bat signal. I remember begging my dad to order me the Batman and it was a snowball effect after that. I hated that they didn’t come with accessories but luckily I had the Batman begins kid line Batman that came with gadgets, a Batmobile and the movie masters batpod. The batpod was killer and for 19.99 no less? Probably my favorite part of the movie masters was that batpod, always wish they made an in scale tumbler Batmobile.

I don't collect 7 inch McFarlane dc figures, but to this day I'm trying to collect the movie masters line it's been fun trying to hunt them down at antique/collectible shops
