    0:00 Bulky islands spread out
    3:04 Small=medium islands spread out
    5:55 Sprawling dense islands

      :)
      It is a pre-release because as soon as I was like "Alright I need to upload this, let's test" it worked fine but also spawned me above the void. There are ways around this using cheats, but in the future I'll add a spawn circle so you don't die instantly while playing survival 💀.

    I love the first two! And the infinite skyblock one as well!
    I've loved the theme of floating islands for what feels like forever. Not sure where it came from. But my longest played steam game was an mmo called "Worlds Adrift" that unfortunately had to shut down due to insane server costs that came with the experimental server software they were using.
    That game just increased my love for floating islands more. So every so often I go looking for a new floating islands world/mod preset to use that doesn't stray too far away from the base mechanics of minecraft. Nice work!
    I love the more spread out islands the most. Since you're not overwhelmed with what's nearby. You want to feel like you're actually isolated on the island that you reside. While still having opportunity to travel if you desire. I also actively use LOD mods. FarPlaneTwo for 1.12, and Distant Horizons for everything else. With those. You can see far away islands anyway regardless. So generation that's has more air in-between is even more required to get the isolating effect.
    Also love the effect that the new cave system in the latest versions of minecraft gives to the underside of islands. Didn't think they'd be able to be utilized so well without mods!

    I love the second one! I was curious if you would be able to put a datapack up for the second option (at 3:04) if its not a hassle? Would love to play survival in that worldgen!

    Aaahh, these are so neat! I love the second one and the "Dense" one at 5:55 especially, the skyblock one is also really cool... Worlds like this must be amazing with flight mods like SimplePlanes or Simple Hot Air Balloons. I can hardly wait for Create: Aeronautics to come out. Does this world generation work with modded biomes and structures?

    The bulkier swiss cheese world is awesome. I'd love to play on that one.
    Actually, the less bulky one... It's hard to choose! But I suppose if I had to, I'd choose the less bulky swiss cheese world.

    Is it possible to give different biomes different noises like these examples? So that there can be parts of the world very thinly spread out with lots of tiny dots and other parts with larger connected landmasses?

    • @Klinbee
      @Klinbee  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's difficult to say, but I think it should be. It's something I'm vaguely looking into.

  • @blizzaricity7521
    @blizzaricity7521 ปีที่แล้ว

    couldn't you add most of these in a single world generation as a subclass of a biome? (superclass is probably better word for it). you could have all of these types of generation but still retain the random biomes that would spawn in them! it probably is a but more complex to do though, but it would be a cool feature in theory.

    • @Klinbee
      @Klinbee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol that’s literally why I started this in the first place!
      Minecraft’s default “floating islands” (which you have to be clever to get access to, because you cannot access it through the GUI but by changing the world file data) was only single biomes! And this seemed boring to me, so I looked up how to make custom generation with biomes, and made several datapacks with it myself.

    I feel like each world you show is kinda' tiny from bottom to top. Are these vanilla generation heights? If you ever decide to release these, can you make an option to quadruple the height please? Like, have the generation be unique still going vertical (not just place more of the same to stretch it out). Like your "swiss cheese" world, the top of the terrain should be ground zero where stuff should still generate upwards still. It seems like everything below that would be the mining area; caves, mining shafts, ancient cities, etc. What should be on top (where your top surface area pretty much levels out) should still continue upwards with what would normally be above "ground zero" but with your unique world generation still.
    And by quadruple the height, I mean with what you show should all be below ground (with all normally generating structures like caves and all that). Just do it again but on top with swiss cheese "above ground" generation on top.
    I dunno' if it's a limitation, but all your worlds seem to be "short." Is this all that you can do in Minecraft world generation? Not YOU, but like is this THE limitation that we are only allowed to do?
    Sorry... this is a lot, but I'm very enthusiastic about what you've shown me, and I've always wanted to see things like this in Minecraft, and I get inspired so I put my hope in creators like you to continue to experiment and create so that I may one day enjoy what I've always wanted to play Minecraft like.

    • @Klinbee
      @Klinbee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most of the world heights are from -48 to 300, giving you room to build at the top. There are mods that allow you to extend the world height, like the cubic chunks mod. Unsure if it would be compatible with a datapack, but yeah it's a vanilla limitation.
      As for your description of the terrain layers, I think I understand? You mean like the swiss cheese world, but with floating islands above it or something? If so yeah you would probably need an extension to world height but yeah I think that can be done if I understood you correctly.
      Nice to see others enthusiastic about these things :).
