  • These photographs were taken by the Engineer's Office as part of a road survey. The Race Road survey runs from Bridgetown Road, north to West Fork Road. We believe this survey was done in the late 1920s. Homeowners and motorists that travel Race Road today should enjoy this presentation.
The Race Road Time Machine was compiled using materials gathered by the Hamilton County Engineer's Office by Ric Dexter in November of 1998. This material is public domain and may be distributed and exhibited freely.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing it! I'd much rather have gone to Moore Coney than Walgreens

I grew up on Race Road and still drive it every day. Most of what you see here is gone. One old house that's in the photos was just torn down and is being rebuilt as of July 2022.

The Well you see at 2:38 on the left still stands with a house just behind it.

Very nice to see this, all farmland and few houses, my house is one of very few farms at all intact in the area.

Very cool - not sure if any of those houses are still standing today, but a lot of them looked familiar to what I remember from growing up.

One of them is! The big white house you see at the corner of race and Boomer I drive by every day. It even has a stone in front of it that says it was built (my memory fails me) around the mid-late 19th century, I think.

The house at 1:00 on the Right is still there, even the driveway on the left with the car on it is there, and the house its going to is there as well at 0:53, but the look of the house is a bit different today. The first right house at 0:57 is still there as well.
