Okay of course, it’s kinda embarrassing though. Years ago I had a seizure while walking my dog to the beach. I was passed out and he stayed by my side barking for hours until someone found me. He was the best and I truly owe my life to him. Thanks for asking. I miss him very much🌺

I've had 2 Saints, and they are the breed I'll have for the rest of my life. They are just the best in every way. I would add that Saint Bernards are VERY quiet dogs. Unless neighbors see you walking your Saint, they won't even know you have a dog. I even have to search my home for my 200# Saint! He's like a cat - likes to go into quiet tight quarters and lie their silently for hours. With both my saints, they can go days, even weeks, without barking. And when they bark, they will bark ONCE, not incessantly like many other breeds. They will bark if they want something like coming back into the house.
My husband and I have 2 Saint Bernards. JJ he is 4 & GG she is 3. They are the sweetest dogs ever!!! They have 2 couches in the living room & we have one lol. They basically took over the house but I would'nt have it any other way=)

Our Saint Bernard hated snow. He put up such a sad face when he had to go out in the snow, or cold rain to do his business!! :D And we always found him as far underneath the fire place as he could get. I think our dog was broken.....

I've had 2. They are true Saints. All dogs are amazing and I've had other breeds but it's hard to describe what it's like to have a Saint Bernard, all they want is to love and to be loved.
I had two, one die young a few months ago 😭😭 and the other one is as lively as they said!!! Even though for me all dogs are the same: loyal and full of love and protective of their master😇❤️
We’ve always had a Saint! We had one named Urho which means bravery and he was a Saint literally. He barked maybe once a year if even that and loved kids. He was gentle and wouldnt hurt a fly. We got a new Saint after Urho died and his name is Ramon. And its completely true. Saints need a LOT of training to behave. We have ground rules fir the new puppy and he respects them. He is way more energetic though. He has stopped biting and understands, what ”no” means. He knows a lot more already than what Urho did. He is also very shy aroynd new people. But despite his size he loves everything and everyone, although hes a bit shy.
I have had 4 Saints so far. I usually get them in sets of 2 (Male/ Female for companionship). I do not breed them but feel they need their own kind -along with our human family. They slept on my bed with my wife and I and they were our children. The sad thing about Saints are they only live 8-10 years. I did have a male (Buddy) who lived to be 11. I went to German Shepherds this last time. I love them dearly but when they pass I am going back to my Saints. They are GREAT family members and all 4 loved and protected our son. My Saints hardly drooled. Love this breed.

growing up my friends family had a fenced in yard and they also owned 2 absolutely giant St. Bernards… they were very nice and playful dogs but my god they were massive especially to a little kid. We used to play this game where all the kids would stand in the yard and then they would let those two dogs out and we would all run for our lives… they would get all excited and basically tackle and drool all over whoever they can catch lol. That family were the only people I had ever been around who had St. Bernards.
We rescued aSt.B/Labrador mix who was abused as a bait dog for fighting. I’ve been working with him and he’s knocked me down but only in defense and he sits right by my side and will even bear my weight to get back up. So loving tending to me Best Boy!

She was quite friendly which I think was kind of surprising considering she’d had a hard life as a stray prior to living with us. Some monster had actually shot her in the back with a beebee gun and when she got older, that affected her ability to move. When she lost the ability to stand in 2016, we had to put her to sleep. I still miss her.
I love my st. Bernard! Funny how I got her too. In 2016 My ex wanted a st. Bernard so bad her whole life that when a breeder near by popped up online, she went against all her values and principles of never buying a dog from a breeder as she was an ACO. I did not want the dog. She had 4 kids already with a dog and cat living in a trailer in Texas and was hectic enough lol so she obviously wins on getting her eventually and gets the puppy. I ended up having to do all the training and showing the ropes of not chewing etc. So 3 years pass and it's 2019 now and she's trained kinda except she will bolt out the door at any chance... and I'll tell ya her kids always failed to keep the door shut no matter how much we told them. My ex got sick of her after the puppy stage and I always had to be the one to deal with her because she got to strong to quick for my ex. So it's 2019 and we split up and she completely insists that I take honey (my dog) with me back to ohio with no hesitation lol so it's 2022 now and she is 6 now (oh and she was the runt but still ended up kinda big) and I am 110% her human and she knows it. Crazy I didn't want her in the first place and she ended up being the best thing to happen to me after the breakup.
I remembered when I watched a Disney cartoon wherein Pluto made friends with a Saint Bernard who saved him and they got drunk from the barrel the Saint had brought afterwards

I had to take one of my daughters St Bernard's. They got two of them again but these 2 started to get aggresive with each other. I guess they found that when getting multiple ST Bernard's you are only supposed to get 2 brothers or 2 sisters not a brother and a sister. They get aggresive with each other. This is what my daughter found, I didnt confirm it. He is definatly a needy animal and always has to be right by me. If i run to get the mail, when i come in he acts like ive been gone all day. He is great with kids and woman, but hates certain men. Some he is their best friend but others he goes after them hard. Only thing I can think is my ex new boyfriend wasnt nice to him. Why just random men like that. His name is Bob and I like it
They don't droll that much if ppl would stop stuffing them w/ sweets and ice cream(and technicly any type of dog w/ this tipe of mouth).A had 2 and got this advice from the breeder and i never had issu with the shoe lace thing :)
