This is cool, I have a nebula solar that I use to project onto my ceiling. That way I don’t even have to lift my head to watch TV. Am I lazy? Yes, is that a luxury I fully enjoy? Also yes.
I had the same set up on halo plus. Big problem that you overlooked is fan noise when it is right above your head. I moved projector to side and manually adjusted keystone. Then optional but I added acoustic panels around projector with some air gap. (no adverse effect on cooling). Hooked up with 5.1.2 Dolby soundbar. Boom done.
i used to live in a caravane that was 7.5 m2 and included everything you listed, plus much more (laundry machine, water heater, frige, cooking zone, oven , library, hifi , various voltage converters in both ways ... )
That's a really useful and easy to replicate project. If someone already has a four-poster bed or is willing to sleep with their feet towards a wall, this would be incredibly quick to set up.
When i worked in agecare we had these beds, nicknamed the 'princess bed' it was basically a bed + toilet that could also transform into a rather clunky wheelchair, made with all memory foam, it was meant for people who were overweight and unable to move anymore, so the idea of combining things into a bed has been around before and even used
I've been inspired to make a big black cube canopy at a trip to IKEA with my girlfriend who suggested buying a canopy frame, I just then was struck with the idea that if I'm basically surrounding all four corners and ceiling with thick black curtains then why not just add a projector, some RGB lights on the roof 4 edges and to top it off one of them big tables to eat or be on laptop that require rolling the bottom part of it under the bed....it's a paradise! No need to ever leave the bed only to just go to the bathroom.😅
Would be nice to make the beams foldable 90* inwards each without taking of the the screen to store it fast at the bed frame. A simple lock mechanism on both end positions would be enough.
For a V3 of the projector mount you could consider one that has a ball head on it. It looks like the projector has a quarter inch screw mount on the bottom which would allow you to mount the projector to any standard camera tripod head or ball head. Would make for easier projector positioning.
i was thinking about making the sticks retractable, the sheet would fold u. There won't be a giant sheet blocking the view and you wouldn't ned to deconstruct said setup.
@@sword0115 3d printers aren't as expensive as you would think like i did.. I bought my Ender 3 v2 for like £250 which for what you can do with a 3d printer is an incredibly low price 👊🏻❄️
Hi! May i ask why you didn't just simply import your scanned picture into Fusion and traced the edge in Fusion instead of having to use Photoshop? Is there any benefit that way?
If you bring the picture straight into Fusion you have to manually calibrate the scale, plus i have an easier time making challenging paths in illustrator. It is an option though!
Devin: describes a tiny room that squishes everything into it Me: that looks like way too apartments for rent in my area. $1000-$2000 usd per month, excluding bills and furniture.
I had been turned off from projectors for a while due to my work in IT. The bulbs were very expensive and were good for 15,000 hours of use give or take. I get that my own amount of usage would be much less per day that the university classrooms. It kept me cautious about hidden expenses. Sort of like the cost of replacing batteries for electric vehicles. More research is needed to say if it’s still cost effective, so I have no input on that.
And yet every time you move or shift your weight, your bed or head board shakes a little and so your projector does as well and your image then shakes. So you have to lay perfectly still. Fun gimmicky idea but the practicality is lacking. I put an Xgimi Horizon Pro on a projector stand behind my headboard between it and the wall which does not make contact with my headboard so no matter how much I move around in my bed it does not cause any shaking to the projector. It's also raised up high enough that I can sit up in bed without my head blocking the image.
To make it even quicker to put up and down, instead of bolting the wood directly to the bed, you could make a case that stays bolted to the wood and then keep the screen and poles wrapped up together. Then when you need it you just unravel and slide it into the holsters
What I did was use the ceiling as the screen (flat and white), mount a portable projector onto a music book stand and tilt to the right angle. Advantage being no loss of brightness, image is suspended from any vibration in bed, lower fan noise etc. I much prefer lying in bed watching movies/TH-cam than sit up. Hope it helps your next version of this project 😉
You should have used a better projector, and definitely used a better screen. People underestimate the difference a high quality screen makes. Also, a 100 inch screen is huge for a TV, but it's tiny for a projector.
The higher end projectors do things like offset and keystoning optically and not digitally. To do these effects purely digitally, an image processor must distort the image in real time. This means that your displayed resolution must be lower than the projector's native resolution. So if you have a 1080p native dlp chip then using these digital effects means you cannot display true 1080p video (it would have to be downscaled to lower res first). This introduces lag and also tranform distortion due to quantization error. So basically get a projector that does these things with mechanically adjustable optics and not digitally.
These projectors are meant to be placed on a low table in front of you that's why it's tilted up... that said he could mount it upside down on the ceiling too
I don't know why he didn't just opt for one of XGIMI's many other projectors that have the Intelligent Screen Alignment feature. I mean, the Halo+ model does. I guess this was a sponsored segment, so beggars can't be choosers.
The remaining wall would have to include an entrance, no? Although when you think about it, it'd probably be an exit, and we *don't* want _that_ there…
You NEED to have a popcorn machine AND a popcorn butter-er
I've thought the same, see my comment 😀👍
One that throws the popcorn straight into your open mouth.

As someone who is bed bound a lot of the time, this all-in-one bed contraption would be so perfect for me 😂.

This is awesome. I think the views you get is proof that the TH-cam algorithm hates high quality content!
Can u share any link or smthng of that mount u designed for the projector?

What about eye-straining?
With screen so close and big, would you get a headache?

Hehe yes! One of my favorite thrift store finds while visiting Sweden :)
Thx for answer! If you want more info on Nils the look up the book by Selma Lagerlöf
Nice job bro 😮😮😮😮
Another Incredible video!!

Started out cheap by wearing my shorts from the 80's ;)
3d printing has become my new obsession. Thankyou for all the great videos on the subject 👊🏻❄️
3d printing is so cool, sure the printer itself is expensive but once you have it you can make almost anything you want.

Amazing video!!Fun to watch!Halo projector looks super easy to use!I think bring it to camping is a good idea too!
you should raise the bed up and put shelf's and droors under it for storage or a 3d printer
I love your videos
This is a DREAM! so cool!!!
Community? Nice!
Sound should front front !! Just like a real movie theater would !! But other than that...awaome project !!! Good job !!!
Really nice Idea

Hey man, you've become so successful that your comment section is being targeted by bots that promote "investing guru" or something.
Haven’t watched this channel for a minute now, great video!
What's the name of movie in 13:32 ??
It's a TV series, called "Community"
On the fourth wall you definitely won't need a door because we won't need to go anywhere

the idea of the bed just blows my mind! good work!
I love it!
Malm-tastic !!
You could have print something that could be mounted on a wall, so you don't have to move the bed. Other than that all looks great
I would suggested to not use a translucent screen because you loose light and brightness out the back.
Proper projector fabric is opaque.

Going to recommend a rethink of the toilet position. Do you really want to hold hands with your partner when their on the throne?
Let's hope that nothing breaks when you are doing grown-up things 🤣

The other wall has to be a full blown gaming and streaming setup
Yesss streaming from bed! :P
Maby print dove joints that you attach both to the bed and the poles so you don't have to bolt and unbolt the poles every time?
Maybe you should build this all into a cargo trailer.
in the 3rd world your utpia it's called "a home" or "a house"
Where are the cabinets, 3d printer
Wish I had a 3D Printer, I’d love to mount my Halo + like this…..yea I could buy one but seems like a waste to buy one just to make one thing lol

You can’t adjust the X and Y digitally!? It Has to be adjusted physically. That is a very lame equipment.
