Snooker POV: Open Table Total Clearance (No. 4)

  • I tried to keep the head camera pointed at the table as much as possible, but because I was focusing on unnecessary things, I made simple mistakes repeatedly, and it took a lot of time to shoot a clearance video. An example of this is the position on the second red ball in this clearance. You need to stay focused.

      Thank you for your comment❤
      My grip is not standard, so I don't recommend it to others very often. One distinctive feature of my grip is that my index finger is completely away from the cue from start to finish. I believe grip should be tailored to individual physique, strength, and form, so I encourage you to experiment with various grips to find one that allows you to smoothly and accurately swing the cue straight.

    Hello, Your channel is very beautiful, but I think that sometimes when your white ball stops, if there are 2-3 red balls to choose from, you should shoot the angles of all the red balls that can be selected, so that everyone can understand the table Case.
    e.g : 3:35

    • @Sasa_snooker
      @Sasa_snooker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Wai Kam, Thank you for your feedback.
      You’re right; it might be easier to understand that way. However, doing so would make the videos longer and make it harder for me to stay focused. I already try to capture as much of the table as possible by looking down when I get into position and holding my pose longer after finishing a shot so the balls are visible for a bit longer. It’s quite challenging to stay focused with all these adjustments.
      At 3:35, I could have gone for the two reds below the pink as well, so I should have drawn lines to the pockets and explained why I chose that particular red. I’ll keep that in mind for future editing.
      By the way, at 3:35, the two reds below the pink were easier shots, but considering the clearance, I thought it would be better to handle the red on the left side of the screen, even though it was a bit more difficult to position for, to simplify the remaining layout.

      Hello, your explanation is very detailed. Thank you very much. I believe you are British. I am from Hong Kong and my English level is not very good. Please forgive me. My skill level in playing snooker is only average, and of course not as good as yours. I can only get about 80 points per stick at most.

    Can you tell me where to buy cue ball like yours ?

    • @Sasa_snooker
      @Sasa_snooker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you search for 'snooker training ball' on eBay, you'll find some options, but there's a wide range of prices, and it can be tricky to determine which one to buy. The training ball I use weighs only 138g, so I'm also looking for a 142g training ball, but since the weight isn't specified for most listings, it's hard to know what you'll get until you make the purchase. If you decide to buy, just make sure to double-check the size of the ball to avoid any mistakes.

    Brother , how much distance you keep from cue ball to your bridge hand "v" . I think 11 to 12 inches is optimum . Because i wanted to screw down the cue ball but due to short distance from cue ball to bridge hand it's getting hitten below the cue ball which making it's jump . So i think 11 to 12 inch is good . What do you recommend about the distance. ?

    • @Sasa_snooker
      @Sasa_snooker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Regarding the distance from the cue ball to the bridge, it always varies depending on the situation of the cue ball and the object ball, so I don't think there is an optimal distance. For beginners, it's better to learn with a fixed distance, but once you reach a certain level, it's better not to fix the distance.
      As an initial guideline, I was taught by my Thai coach to use 11.5 inches (the same as the radius of the D zone) for shots like a straight pot on the blue from the baulk line, for stop or screw-back shots. However, I might use a slightly shorter distance now.
      For soft shots around the black, I think the distance is about 11 inches or less. I believe the distance from the cue ball to the bridge is slightly shorter than the standard for me.

      @@Sasa_snooker i think that the distance of an indivisual from elbow to wrist should be the optimal distance for keeping it from cue ball to bridge . In was using 9 inch but today for deep screws i change it 11 . As My wrist to elbow is same . But for shorter shots say black screw or pink to black i think 10inch is better. U r right btw

    • @Sasa_snooker
      @Sasa_snooker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't measured the distance from the cue ball to the bridge precisely, but for shots around the black, I think it's probably around 7 to 10 inches for me. My middle finger is less than 10 cm (

      @@Sasa_snooker u r right . I ve long hands and fingers btw . Also for stun , stun screw and top spin 8 to 9 inch is working for me to but problem was coming in deep screw. I was not able to hit it quite below at -4. So i corrected the length and hit it from 11 inches and it worked. I manage to deep screw. Thanks for all the help. what cue specs would you recommend when buying a cue ?

    • @Sasa_snooker
      @Sasa_snooker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is my second snooker cue, but I have never ordered a cue; I always choose one after trying it out myself. I prefer cues that are 56 to 57 inches long, with minimal deflection and good spin potential. When ordering a cue, since you can't try it, it's better to choose the highest grade possible. As for weight, length, and thickness (tip and butt), you should specify your preferences.

    • @Mizoguchi888
      @Mizoguchi888 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Sasa_snookerhow do you check /test for deflection? thanks

    • @Sasa_snooker
      @Sasa_snooker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I have the opportunity to test a cue before buying it, I check several things. I test the top, bottom, left, and right spin by potting the black. Although the amount of spin depends on the tip, I try to avoid cues that are difficult to spin or have significant deflection when hitting side spin. I also check if the cue is straight and where the balance point is. Additionally, I check if the cue remains straight when using a long extension.

      There haven't been any requests to make the line thinner before, so we'll continue with both the current video and an unedited version without the line. If there's a significant demand to make the line thinner, we'll consider it.
