Hello, I'm Sasa (nickname).
This channel primarily showcases snooker practice sessions.
Originally, I used this channel as storage to review my own practice. However, due to many requests to watch the videos, I started making my snooker practice videos public.
I can’t speak any language other than Japanese, but I’ve been adding subtitles in multiple languages using tools like ChatGPT. Feel free to leave comments in your language; I’d be happy to receive them.
I hope these videos can serve as a reference for your snooker practice.

Snooker POV: Stephen Hendry's Tough Table Challenge
Happy New Year 2025!
This time, I took on one of the most requested challenges: "Stephen Hendry's Tough Table Challenge."
It's the video I struggled with the most during filming in 2024.
In @stephenhendryscuetips videos, he aims for high scores with just a few attempts.
However, I have the opportunity to try multiple times, so my focus was on achieving a high break (total clearance).
At the start, I don't mind making mistakes and instead prioritise clearing the most difficult red balls as early as possible.
With this approach, it's challenging to even score 20 points with just a few attempts, but with a bit of luck, achieving a high break becomes much easier.
Given the high level of difficulty, this strategy is essential at my skill level to increase the chances of a high break.
If I were to take on this challenge for the first time on an unfamiliar table with only a few attempts, I probably wouldn't score more than 30 points.

Snooker POV: X'mas Tree Total Clearance!

Merry Christmas! I happened to find a website featuring many snooker drills, and I decided to try the "X'mas Tree" drill and post it for Christmas. Looking back, I regret not wearing a Santa hat, but there wasn't enough time before Christmas, so it couldn't be helped. This drill gave me valuable insight into breaking the second pack of reds. I hesitated when playing the 14th red (9:40), which made the next four shots incredibly difficult. However, I managed to achieve a total clearance in the end. I'd like to cut down on these kinds of mistakes, but even when I'm aware of them, they're hard to eliminate. Snooker POV: Snake Total Clearance!
มุมมอง 3.8K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
This drill was attempted based on viewer requests. If you have any requests, please leave them in the comments! I'm not at the level of a main tour player, so I can't manage very difficult clearances. Since I'd never tried this drill before, it took me quite a while-about 3 hours-to complete the clearance. If the red balls were arranged in a straighter line, it might be possible to go for a 147...

Snooker Century Break with My Non-Dominant Hand - Practice Frame (Right-Hand vs Left-Hand)

On this day, I wasn't in the best shape and was struggling a bit, but I managed to complete the total clearance. I didn’t have much room to focus on the camera angle, and when I was lost in thought, I ended up looking up, which resulted in a lot of upward shots from the head camera. I 2ant to see your exact aiming points
I think it’s probably impossible to make the camera show something closer to what I actually see with my own eyes. Attaching a camera to the cue might be an option, but it would get in the way and make it difficult to play properly.
Plz try mouth camera
That’s difficult. My face is slightly tilted downward, and the cue is touching my chin, so there’s no space to attach a camera around my mouth. I believe it’s impossible to play snooker with a camera positioned lower than my head.
Is it my impression or 90% of your shots has a bit of helping side ?
You're right! Almost all of my shots that aren't straight have a bit of helping side. It's all unconscious, though.
@Sasa_snooker the coach Barton snooker also mentioned this helping side can be used and helps a lot. I am applying this too. Your videos are helping me improve my break building. Many thanks.
Nice final black! Great POV again
PapaidoDeki e Kin, thank you for your comment! The final pink was a shot where a kick seemed likely, so if it were a match, I would have had to ask for the ball to be cleaned. I'm really glad the final black went in. 😓
What is the tip and trick when potting the object ball by side shot?
I’m not sure what’s the most efficient way, to be honest. I think the only way is to practice a lot of shots using side spin.
Excellent recovery shots.
I really struggled with the red ball furthest from the black. It would have been much easier if I could have dealt with the distant red first.
Congratulations..this is extremely difficult!
This drill is really difficult, as expected from one introduced by John Higgins 😓.
mannn …..i just love you videos…..it makes wanna grind harder…..Would love to see a video on stance ,grip and shot alignment techniques……🩵🩵
Aliasger, thank you for your comment! I appreciate your request, but since I don’t speak English, creating detailed technical videos would result in text-heavy content, which might be hard to follow. There are many coaches who have already uploaded great videos on these topics, so I think watching those would be more efficient. Also, my stance and grip might differ from the standard techniques, so I’m not sure they would be a good reference for you. Thank you for your understanding!
Chapeau Sasa! I hope Stephen Hendry sees this and invites you on his show. You made a lot of great recovery shots, even though you were getting nrevous.
Thank you for your comment, Brian Booth! Unfortunately, I don’t speak English, so that might be difficult for me 😅.
What snooker cue do you use, what brand?
Thank you, David Salagean 147 for your comment. Here are the specs of the cue I'm currently using (2025/01/05): Manufacturer: Asia Cues Grade: Signature Length: 56 inches Tip: 9.5mm Butt: 28mm Weight: 490g Tip: CENTURY PRO CUE TIPS (G2)
Very good!! Sasa, Which cue do you use? And which cue tip do you recommend?

😁
Very very good! I know the pros only get a few attempts with this and no doubt you've tried this many times but to do it all in one take with a total clearance is very impressive. Great to see your channel doing so well 👌
Thank you for your comment, Daniel Cartwright! I tried countless times to film this video 😅
Excellent clearance showing good cue ball control but the best part was how you managed to finish all the reds and then open up the closed ones! Congratulations and I think you should contact someone from Stephen hendry’s team to show him you clearance.
Thank you for your comment, Nakul Gandhi! It's true that starting to open the reds early is crucial; otherwise, a clearance becomes very difficult.
Hi sir..can you make tutorial how to apply side shot as such your videos
Thank you for your comment, Khairul Anuar! I don’t speak English, so it’s difficult for me to create such a tutorial. If I come up with an idea that can explain it clearly without speaking, I might make one.
Very nice How many attempts was this?
Thank you for your comment, Amir Mohammad Torkamandi! I restarted countless times whenever I failed in the early developments and other parts, so I’ve tried this more times than I can count. At the very least, I’ve done it over 1,000 times.
Amazing recovery shots!

@stephenhendryscuetips #cuetips #snooker #stephenhendry First clearance for The Tough Table Challenge
Thank you, SPM310! There are others who have made a clearance as well, like @madaboutsnooker147. However, this might be the very first time someone has recorded a clearance for the Tough Table Challenge with a camera mounted on their head. 😅
I felt that satisfaction with that sigh in the end.
I missed several times when I was so close, so I felt really relieved the moment I managed to make the clearance.
that's excellent work from you, you should play some tournament as well
Thank you, Muhammad Zayd! Participating in overseas tournaments can be quite expensive just to travel from Japan, so it's a bit challenging for me.
@@Sasa_snooker I understand that but i really hope Stephen Hendry saw this video
If that happens, I would be really happy.
Amazing stuff bro congrats!
Thank you very much, Jonathan Konoi!

hi Sasa, happy new year! May I ask, why you use side for almost every single shot? is there any particular reason for it? Thanks
Hi Mang Ning, Happy New Year! I often get asked about my frequent use of slight side spin. The following is purely my personal perspective on side spin, so it might not be entirely correct. There are four main purposes for using side spin, listed in order of importance: 1. To alter the angle of the cue ball after it rebounds from a cushion. 2. To curve the cue ball and change its path. 3. To slightly adjust the cue ball's path after it strikes the object ball. 4. To slightly adjust the object ball's path after the cue ball strikes it, controlling the amount of "throw" (Helping Side). When there’s no cushion or curve involved, I use side spin (e.g., left spin when the cue ball needs to rebound to the left) on angled shots because: It allows me to aim at a thicker contact point. It slightly reduces the amount of throw, which can make the potting angle more stable. This technique is called "Helping Side." Here are a couple of videos explaining it: Barry Stark Snooker Coach th-cam.com/video/Dfo_2qAXnaw/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BarryStarkSnookerCoach Michael Holt Snooker Coaching th-cam.com/video/WS7wtFQyf5g/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching However, I don't consciously use Helping Side; it’s entirely subconscious. Depending on the angle, I naturally find myself aiming with that cue point. I believe this habit was developed over years of playing billiards. In fact, even players who think they’re striking the center of the cue ball often unintentionally use slight side spin depending on the angle. Because of this, I can’t recommend any specific practice methods for it. I suggest not being too rigid about always striking the center of the cue ball in the beginning. Instead, focus on understanding which impact point works best for certain angles to make potting easier. As the coaches in the videos mention, not all professional players use side spin. Some prefer striking the center of the cue ball. This technique isn’t universally recommended-it’s important to experiment and find what works best for your own style and preference. Lastly, here’s a pool channel that dives deep into the effects of side spin, which might interest you: www.youtube.com/@setach_eng
@@Sasa_snooker Thank a lot for your helpful explanation, the 'helping side' is quite interesting, I will dive into more about it. Thank you again and wish you more 147s in the new year
Thank you very much! I’ll do my best!
Excellent cue ball control mate 😂 HNY from Thailand ❤️
Thank you for your comment, Ladkrabang Bored Pile! And Happy New Year from Japan! 😊🙏
Happy New Year bro! What a way to start it by doing the Tough Table Challenge and getting the century clearance!! And yet you don't become a professional after that??? 🤔
Happy New Year, Mzz Zzz! As I mentioned in the description, I was able to do it after countless tries. It's not at the level of the Main Tour.
@@Sasa_snooker I know, but I'm sure you still beat the scores of some of the other professionals that attempted this such as Williams and ROS lol.
@@mzzzzz2179 If top players took it seriously, I think some of them could achieve the clearance within 10 attempts. It took me over 1,000 tries though 😭.
@@Sasa_snooker 😂😂
@@Sasa_snooker I think you should still push to become a pro. I wish I had the same talent as you. Keep your videos coming!

At 11:26, using this technique makes it easier to cue because it's hard to swing the cue with a normal rest in that position. If it were on the yellow side, I would use a normal rest shot.

Hi sir for line up training we use back spin or center ball?
Hi Khairul Anuar, There’s no such thing as a cue point you don’t use in any practice. However, it’s important to position the cue ball so that you don’t have to rely on extreme cue points or hard shots as much as possible.
I've watched him against hendry, and he was average.
I've never played a game against Hendry.
That white did not end up there on 25
Thank you for your comment, Matt Whiting. Regarding the red shot on the 25th point, I've attached the URL to the same shot scene in the extended version of this video. Please check it out: th-cam.com/video/FpaP530RcJo/w-d-xo.html
By the way, for this shot, I wanted to position the cue ball a bit thicker on the black, so it was a misposition on my part.
Very nice. Love the detail.
Thank you so much, Tasty Chai!
