I had a similar experience with a Yamaha cruiser that had a crooked swing arm, which caused damage to the rear end... weeks went by with no new swing arm. I contacted the owner of the dealership. He took one off of a bike on the showroom floor, removed the swing arm and installed it on my bike. I got lucky. I have had too many bad experiences with HD service. The last one was a poorly machined rocker box cover that was leaking profusely. Two weeks later, I finally picked my bike up and road it home only to find oil all over my pant leg and the side of my bike. Fortunately, it was just oil residue that the tech failed to clean off. I had to do the cleaning. The second problem was a leaking master cylinder on the bars. They took a week to fix it. However, same problem. The tech did not clean the residue, which ate some of the paint on the frame. The turnover is very high. And many of the techs wear clown shoes. Your experience and my experience with HD is the service manager's fault. It his job to satisfy you by pushing corporate HD. HD quality has suffered significantly over the years. And it is shameful.
I can’t say I disagree with you. Harley would be well served to treat their customers better. Especially those who have been with the company for years.

Well in some states if the dealership can not fix the issue after 3 times, it’s considered a lemon and are required to buy it back. Get a lawyer. Not sure if Canada functions the same like that
Unfortunately, we do not have that option here. Canada does not have a “lemon law”. In theory, the dealership could keep the bike for years as long as they still consider it under repair.
I noticed I had issues downshifting. I had to lift up on the shifter lever first before I could down shift a gear. So rather than just shifting down, down, down, it was up down, up down, up down all the way from 6th to 1st.

Your transmission problem seems to be a long term issue for Harley Davidson. I have a 2020 Lowrider S and I had a downshifting problem from day 1. If I lifted my foot up quickly it would engage the next lower gear. If I lifted my foot slowly like I was rolling to a stop, it would not and would feel like I was stepping on a spring the next time I pushed down on the lever. I had it looked at 4 times at 3 different dealers and each time they told me that their Tech said no problem with it and that I was not lifting my foot completely off the peg when I was down shifting. It wasn't until my factory warranty had run out and my extended warranty had kicked in that The dealership I bought it from actually had the shop manager ride my bike exactly the way I ride it and then ride a different Softail the exact same way that they actually could recreate the problem and agreed yes I was correct. After submitting it to the extended warranty company the company replied that they had seen a few vehicles with similar symptoms and agreed that they just needed to put a new transmission in it. I'm disgusted that it rook so long to get my issue resolved. If I buy another motorcycle it will be another brand, probably a BMW R18 Bagger.
That sounds like something they would do. I did hear from the service manager that Harley had a transmission problem when the M8’s first came out. He said some would come in actually missing parts.

@@canadiansa1nt309 It sounds like their track record isn't getting any better.
I got a used Honda 1300 vtx for 2k with no issues, after they were going to charge me 29k with 540$ payments after 7k down For A USED BIKE😂🖕 and I bought the bike up there as I middle finger too them after they tried to rip me off.
harley should give you a new bike
That would be nice but highly doubtful. We’ll cross that bridge when I find out if the problem actually gets solved.
I agree. Especially because the bike you bought is new they should just give you a new one. Look at yours, fix it and sell it for less
@@kaistewart3397 lmao , get a life , Harley a shit company , they make money off the dumb fuks that drink shit beer, and have a fat wallet, , lol, Harleys a cult,,, money, naked women , and cheap beer, lol, bikes are shit cost a price of a home, all about marketing , hmm,, brainwashing,😎
I am confused, you've been a rider of Harleys for over 20 years...and you started in 2021?
Sorry, I must have misspoke. 2001.
You have been riding Harley for 20 years and you started in 2021 it doesn’t make sense??
Sorry, 2001.
If Harley keeps this up the future for them them don’t look good
That’s for sure. They haven’t done very well so far this year.
Fuck that. I be 0 to prison real fucking quick
Hi from UK without doubt gearbox exchange
Or a new bike like for like big companies are turning into shit they say they care words are cheap HARLEY f***king prove it or continue looseing your core customer disgusting. Hope all gets sorted soon ride safe
Thanks boss 👍
Actually what I would have done mystery said I want my money back and I'm going someplace else. I'm on the money back from motorcycle because you guys can't fix s*** and to go from there and I would be very adamant about it.
Indian scout bobber much better and the service is good😊
👍
I’m really sorry to hear that they’re not getting their f’ing act together and simply either fix the transmission like right away or give you a new bike.
Whatever happened to customer centricity?
How you feel about Indian Motorcycles?
Stay relaxed with a nice beverage 😎
Thanks. Their service has really gone downhill. I’m not a big fan of Indian. I can’t get into their style. I’ve been looking more toward Triumph.
You know it's the Fat Boy Gods getting back at you for leaving that bike! I am joking obviously but your experience is no joke! It is brutal and disgusting. I would demand my money back and the old Fat Boy back and do a "undo" on the whole thing. A brand new machine sitting in the dealer's shop waiting for parts and service, sucks big time. Sorry Man! I wish you the best and "hopefully" it gets fixed this week. My 2021 Fat Boy in Black Jack Metallica is sitting in my garage, because the weather blows! May and June were/are damp as F, and cold. Cheers, back to my beer!
It could be the gods. Unfortunately, the Fatboy was sold long ago. If I could get all my money back and just leave the bike there I would.
Too bad about the weather. Ours is pretty good but I can’t ride in it.
You sure paint with a broad brush, All HD dealerships and all Harley’s are not bad so don’t group them altogether as one.
I have worked for HD for years and can tell to most of the time the a bike sucks because the rider sucks as well JS
If you watch until the end of the video you will see that I said that not all dealerships are bad. This is a company issue. The issue is not the bike being bad as this could pretty much be a one off. My issue is with the service.
@jefffinley5655 Another clueless marble..you obviously haven't dealt with HD before.
the wait on the transmision is month and a half......so they send you a transmision cluster to try....and if this work your on the road before the transmission would arrive....thats not really a problem to me.... they try....
Ah man
That’s the way the company works.
Ohhh sportster Pete, lol😂
It may be leaky, but it’s been more dependable that the 2023.
Hey Sporters 1200 is bullet proof , the best Harley Davidson engine ever made
👍
Moto 🦅 Guzzi
There bikes suck too. So many other better bike manufacturers out there.
Go with Indian
I’ve heard that a lot.
You should get a new bike
If I could get one, I definitely would.
Whati seeon the trans, vedio, after you got you bike the reveiw, you said the shifter wasnt right, but you still rode it, hmm,
Yes. I could ride it. It was an annoyance
It's a brand new bike..why the F wouldn't he ride it??? Duh
Short story ,,dont bad mouth a company,,when your bike is in there hands they watch you, there lawyers, will send you a letter, slander is big affence, ,
I’m not concerned in the least with their lawyers. Canada is not near as litigious as the US.
@dennispatterson3085 You sound as sharp as a marble.
Said its newer dealer, techs probley dont know much, mayby outta MMI, why they haven't figured out the issue, lol, dealer dont want to pay techs, if shop manual job payes for a 2 hr job, and tech take 4 hrs, hmm, get my drift, why they havent, taken trans outta bike, yet,
Heres the deal, your forward foot lever, hangs, forward, put weight on the shift lever go in to the trans, pawl lever inside has a spring keep it center on your shift drum, witch has pins, that pawl grabs and turns the drum, i think, spring that centers not strobg enough or damaged to center, pawl with the, extra weight of the forward, foot lever, why you have to lift a little to get pawl to grab the pin on the shift drum to rotate, now heres why harley not on that side of trans, have to move engine forward take off swing arm off ,to take the trans, case out of bike,, they just been working on the right, side, to take all the internal gears forks, all, shift mech. But pawl side, need to pull the case, maybey those MMI newbys read this, at your new Harley dealer
Harley a high end bike, like A vett, lambo, porshe, those people dont care the car in the shop, they got others just sitting, lol, it the price of having money, , going to grip about a 50 grand bike, just saying, you should stay with the 10 grand bikes, that are made better,
Im 66 , rode a 012 zx14 r Ninja for 7 years, then bought 018 flfbs,, Fatty, slow and low, lol just a toy , best harley made, you can fuk up people , Fatty a sleeper, lol, think a fat tire bike strait line, bike, lol, shit fatty good as my Ninja, gotta know how to ride,😎
Trying to compare A 14r Njnja to a Fatty well same shit if under 80 mph, thats all Harley good for , sad cost twice as much 86 hp to 208 hp 580 lbs to 690 lbs, 6 grand to 12 grand rpms, hmm, 14 grand to 21 grand in price lol,
There watching, be careful, 🤔☠
Not concerned
Sad but fun, lol, saint never have a bike he can ride, he done ,lol, lowrider just burn to the ground, hope he has insurance , hatley junk, but brainwashed to be good,
Your 22 grand bike is in a harley dealer, lol, all tore apart, hmm, yea lawyers wont bug you, your paying on a bike, thats shit, ,hmm,
Youve been, slammin, Harley for awhile, , there lawyers, going to have a fun day with you, get rid of your lowrider, start over, looks like you have alot of money, you let dealer, do everything, 🤑🤑
Their lawyers won’t do anything. And I’m far too small for them to waste their time on.
