The Hirciiner: - am aaagh IM GONNA HOONT AAAARGH - Does absolutely nothing else just Hunts - Where is my daedric bow? - Sneak 100 Eats only meat vegetables are for pussies - Wears an armour made from the skin of its victims
It's between Hircine and Sanguine for my favorite Daedric Prince. Hircine's sphere always felt the most fitting for Skyrim. When you're first coming out of Helgen, an encounter with a sabercat usually means death. But later on I actively hunt the beast, slaying them with ease. From the hunted to the hunter. Perhaps that's his connection to Mehrunes Dagon; prey becoming predator is a form of revolution. Sanguine is my favorite simply because his quest in Skyrim is hilarious, and the pocket realm you visit at the end is my favorite area in the game.
"So...you are the one. You have escaped my hounds and beaten back the other challengers. I had rather expected the giant to prevail, but no matter. You have proven yourself a worthy hunter, and you have earned the greatest honor that can be bestowed upon a mortal: you are to be my prey." "I ask you, though: what is it that makes a hunter great. Is it his strength? The speed with which he strikes? Or is it his guile, the ability to outwit his prey? Answer me, mortal, and decide your fate." "What is the hunter's greatest strength?" - Strength? - Speed? - Guile?
In my head canon Hircine is just a bloke whose only goal in the godhead is to get on the beers and hunt with his mates after getting heartbroken at the beginning of creation... and cracks it when some Nord dude starts slaughtering were-beasts like Ysgramor wiping out the Snow elves.
Hircine was my favourite Daedric Prince ever since I started watching Elder Scrolls lore. The Ethereal Hunter was also my first proper build in Skyrim, so that adds to my absolute love for this Prince
@@PiTiDoS If it's fabulously pretty romance type your right but if it's the land shark that hunts only at night type then they have the same coolness as werewolves.
Vile comes in with some dice "hey boys, wanna play a game?" Hircine looks at Vile and shakes his head "nah, I wanna hunt a hero" Mehrunes Dagon just shrugs " I just wanna mess some stuff up and see what falls out...." "see ya next week brothers"
Eyyyy my second favorite Daedric prince. I love the lore, and the primal feel to him. He's not good or evil, he's simply a sportsman. I love his artifacts, his connections to Lycanthropy, his interactions with other gods, and especially his interactions with mortals.

In my opinion Hircine might be the strongest Daedric lord now since he can actually force himself into mundus while the other lords take for example Dagon needed the mythic dawn to summon him. Heck he even has the bloodmoon prophecy which happens every era. No other daedric lord has more direct intervention in terms of scale and frequency to mundus than Hircine.
I mean if daedra get power from their sphere being made manifest, there is A LOT of hunting in mundus. So he might be way stronger than it seems, he just doesn't have the destructive tendencies of the rest. But I choose to believe for some reason the blood moon gives him MASSIVE power for a short time. Plus the bloodmoon prophecy is very much typical of him, it's not like Molag Bal or Dagon where it's like "I will kill and subjugate you all, flee or die mortals!". It's more like "Here is a challenge, a great hunt, survive, fight, take part or die".
Just to add to the primordial links to Hircine, i saw a theory that talked about his influence in the criation of Nirn. Basiclly it goes about the fact that Trinimac hunting down Lorkhan could've had the hand of Hircine. Knowging that you could also add the whole ceremony with ripping the heart of the prey (Lorkhan) and how that mimics what we see in the Briarheart rituals and so on.
Hircine is pretty cool. So I chose to be a hybrid for him and bal. and walk the infinite library of knowledge while also using the skeleton key to come and go wherever I please.
a word for him instead of moral might be principled. also, glad you brought up the potential problem of loosing some of the immediacy if you know there is no finality in the hunt and you will respawn. I think thats an insightful observation. I agree, that mortal peril does seem like it should be an essential aspect .
Random thought: as much as Bethesda likes to use pop culture reference Easter Eggs, it's kind of a surprise they've never (to my knowledge) done anything with Hircine and the Predators/Yautja. Both are *all* about honorable hunts and whatnot.
Umbra Build(Requires Umbra CC content) ===== Skills: -Conjuration; Master Conjuration, Mystic Binding, Soul Stealer, Oblivion Binding -Enchanting; Enchanter LV5, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter, Extra Effect, Soul Squeezer, Soul Siphon -Block; Shield Wall LV5, Block Runner, Power Bash, Deadly Bash, Disarming Bash, Quick Reflexes -Heavy Armor; Juggernaut LV5, Cushioned, Conditioning, Well Fitted, Tower of Strength, Matching Set, Reflect Blows -Smithing; Steel Smithing, Dwarven Smithing, Orcish Smithing, Ebony Smithing, Daedric Smithing, Arcane Blacksmith -Two Handed; Barbarian LV5, Champion's Stance, Devastating Blow, Great Critical Charge, Sweep, Warmaster, Deep Wounds LV3 Gear: -You'll want to get yourself a full set of Ebony Armor along with making your goal to obtain the greatsword Umbra, should you also have the Alternate Armor Ebony CC content you may use that as well or mix it up with your standard Ebony Armor set to make it look a bit more unique such as using the Alternate Ebony armor and helm but use the traditional Ebony Boots and Gauntlets or vice versa. To start this character off, you'll want to go where you can get the Ironhand Gauntlets, not only will you get yourself a pair of steel nord style gauntlets that fortify your Two Handed skill by 15 points but you should also be able to get yourself a full set of steel armor along with it. Just expect a possibly difficult fight. As for your weapon, you may want to use the Bound Battleaxe spell to help keep yourself light on your feet but also help increase your Conjuration skill to help soul trap enemies early on as well as your Two Handed skill to get those perks and increase its damage overall. You can also use Bound Bow if you like to reach those long distance enemies but this character focuses mostly on up-close-and-personal approaches. If not interested in using Bound weapons, you could instead invest on summoning or in this case reanimation thanks to conjuring Wrathmen by which you'll need Summoner, Necromancy, Dark Souls, and Twin Souls to have better use for it. You can also summon Mistmen and Bonemen for magical and ranged support should you like as well. For your enchantments, you'll be wanting to focus on enchantments that increases your Health and/or Stamina, fortify your Heavy Armor, Block, Conjuration, and/or Two Handed skill, and possibly your Magicka regeneration. Don't worry about your Health and Stamina regeneration for Umbra can cover that easily with it absorbing 25 of both attributes per hit. Mainly with your enchantments you either want to be a mixture of a heavy duty slaughterhouse, or a warrior with a soulless undead army behind him. As for your race you have your options; The Breton which comes with a 25% Magic resistance which is great should you deal with mages and their damned frost magic or against Umbra himself and it comes with a daily power to instead absorb 50% of any offensive spell into your own pool of Magicka for 60 seconds and you start off with a good +10 to Conjuration so there's also that as a boost. Another good race is the Nord where you instead have 50% Frost resistance which like I said about frost mages can really suck, you can perform a Battle Cry once per day to cause enemies to flee for 30 seconds once per day, and you gain a +10 to your Two Handed skill and a +5 to Smithing which is twice as good when it comes to skill gain. Finally for your Standing Stone, you'll be starting off with the Warrior to help boost your warrior skills, or you could go for the Mage to help with your Conjuration and Enchanting skills. Once you're comfortable with your stats, we're either going after the Lord Stone for that extra protection, the Lady Stone for that quick Health and Stamina regen, or follow the ancient ways of the FudgeMuppet and go for the Atronach Stone. Not like you'll be doing much spell casting other than possibly soul trapping, bound weapon or soul cairn summoning since after all your attributes will be focused mainly on 50% Health and 50% Stamina.
It might be different after you start the quest, but I'm pretty sure that unicorn only agros if you have a weapon out or attack something. I was able to ride it around, get off/on just fine as long as I let the unicorn do all the fighting.
so you like waking up and go around killing animals in the woods? the gods in elder scrolls are cool af but the way their portrayed aren't that good play hellblade because they way they based their game off the real Norse gods is fucking sick
@@ciaranmck4469 I think if you strip away the surface Hircine is a good of constant higher challenge. To Hircine this is rather literal "Hunt the strongest and succeed in killing them, and enjoy the process." But you can take it to mean constant challenge and conflict to prove yourself if you apply it less literally.
Good point about the princes not always following their spheres. I think a lot of people forget or don't know that the spheres the princes inhabit didn't exist when the princes were born. There was no nature, no forests, no wild beasts to hunt when Hircine came to being. Dawn and Dusk only exist because Magnus created the sun. Daedric princes merely claimed facets of existence and reality, they didn't create them. These princes had their own personalities before their spheres existed and merely claimed the spheres they liked the most, they are in no way bound to embody them. They are like real Monarchs who try to represent the laws of the land.
I imagine the killing of Icehammer was less about revenge and more along the lines of “Oop, some dude just hunted the hunter. I’m taking that as an invitation to the hunt” in the sense that hunting were creatures without the permission of Hircine is a challenge to Hircine in which you and he take the roles of Predator and Prey (Though Hircine surely would have the advantage)
Interesting how Hircine and Nocturnal don't want to be prayed to in the traditional sense like other Daedric princes, since they both have interensic value in man/mer's daily lives via the desire to challenge oneself to the hunt, or wish oneself luck. Seems like they have more of a "natural" way of manifesting themselves *within* man or mer. It's almost as if they are only receptive to the will of the people they interact with, rather than seeking out man for their bidding.
Sorry I am late team you are the best Fudgemuppet and cyberpunk so not far away mmm can’t wait to see it on Series X. Amazing work on every video and love the podcasts. Also when money a bit better I plan on buying a mug and merch too thank you 🙏 💕
On the Companions: I feel like the curse they suffer from is a perfectly fair consequence when you look at it from the perspective of an infinite being like Hircine. The Harbinger who bargained with the Glemoril Witches for the beast-blood thought that he would receive something for nothing; a concept that could be seen as an affront to Hircine's teachings. So instead of just cursing the man who offended him, he curses the whole organization so that they never forget the price one pays for crossing the Lord of the Hunt.
Hircine is my favorite Daedric Prince...and not just because my Dragonborn/Vestige/Neraverine are all werewolves (my champion of Cyrodiil was a vampire)... Anywho, take my thumbs up and like it gentlemen ✌🏿

Random thought: as much as Bethesda likes to use pop culture reference Easter Eggs, it's kind of a surprise they've never (to my knowledge) done anything with Hircine and the Predators/Yautja. Both are *all* about honorable hunts and whatnot.

Gear:
-You'll want to get yourself a full set of Ebony Armor along with making your goal to obtain the greatsword Umbra, should you also have the Alternate Armor Ebony CC content you may use that as well or mix it up with your standard Ebony Armor set to make it look a bit more unique such as using the Alternate Ebony armor and helm but use the traditional Ebony Boots and Gauntlets or vice versa.
I think Hircine is the only Daedric prince I would worship IRL, he's super cool.
Best part of my week hands down (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤ and Hircine is probably my fave so I'm excited to settle down and watch!
I've always related to Hircine the most in the philosophy of his form and function
so you like waking up and go around killing animals in the woods?
the gods in elder scrolls are cool af but the way their portrayed aren't that good play hellblade because they way they based their game off the real Norse gods is fucking sick
@@ciaranmck4469 I think if you strip away the surface Hircine is a good of constant higher challenge. To Hircine this is rather literal "Hunt the strongest and succeed in killing them, and enjoy the process."
But you can take it to mean constant challenge and conflict to prove yourself if you apply it less literally.
Greet the new day brother! Is there any chance of an episode dedicated to daedric cults?
Last time I was this early the Dwemer were still on Tamriel.
Oblivion NPC: By golley you must be as old as Alduin himself
Yes
personal favorite prince
Good point about the princes not always following their spheres. I think a lot of people forget or don't know that the spheres the princes inhabit didn't exist when the princes were born.
There was no nature, no forests, no wild beasts to hunt when Hircine came to being. Dawn and Dusk only exist because Magnus created the sun. Daedric princes merely claimed facets of existence
and reality, they didn't create them. These princes had their own personalities before their spheres existed and merely claimed the spheres they liked the most, they are in no way bound to embody them. They are like real Monarchs who try to represent the laws of the land.
I know this is an episode Drew was waiting for lol
Hircine is essentially the domain of competition which is as old as change itself
Wereboars would sound like a slam death metal vocalist.
Whenever I think of the name Fudgemuppet I always mentally silence the T so that it rhymes with café. Fudgemuppé.
It might also make them more powerful, hence their more common manifestations.
Fucking love this new series so much
And the spear of mercy.. is that what the goblin uses from the creation club? I’m guessing that’s why he won’t give it up.
21:43 u forgot about Skjor he died too amd he liked being a werewolf
Hircine is def one of the best daedric princes, loved Bloodmoon.
Edit. Hircine is even better since he don’t like vegans.
I’m a vegan so I’m a wereboar
Pretty sure Michael’s *always* the one to bring up Thane Icehammer whenever Hircine is the topic.
Drew That Lorkahn Video.🔥 🔥
You guys should try to get Kirkbride on for the podcast at some point. :D
Hell yeah bois! Happy Sunday :)
I think the blood moon during sindings hunt is the lesser moon iirc
And here i was missing these podcasts, until i got the notification.
May Shor bless you all
5:32 the reach man belief text is manly AF
Vykosa is a Werewolf Lord. I think she is a Khajiit who has lupine features in her base form. I'm unsure if she can transform, though.
21:41 "None of the other Companions who liked being a werewolf died" unless you count Skjor ;) Or are you talking specifically about when the Silver Hand attacked Jorrvaskr?
