Little Tommy from Cleveland, you have lit a fire under my ass. Been playing almost 40 years and getting TH-cam starting almost 6 years ago gave me what I needed to get better, but Uncle Larry you have been a revelation.Right after seeing your Rig Rundown you started HomeSkoolin' and I'm a student for life now.The CAGED system opened up the fretboard and taught me so much. The main thing that you have taught me is to work on being tasteful and letting my emotions flow through. So much I don't know but that's part of my love for guitar, the mystery of it.Endless possibilities and the vessel that gets me through. You have a charmed life and I can see why, you have heart Tommy.People love you because you're the real deal.Look forward to many more years of Home Skoolin, tasty licks, your pearls of wisdom, good health and happiness. Thanks for sharing your soul with us.

Tommy boy, I’ve gotta say you’ve completely changed my playing. As a kid I loved the feel and groove but at some point I got lost in technical nonsense for years. You’ve brought me back to the light. I feel like I’m actually enjoying the music coming out of my Amp now more than ever. I can’t thank you enough. No level of production beats a true professional with a cell phone camera in his garage.

    Hey Tom,
Just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you for consistently reminding me that I'm here watching guitar videos on youtube because what I actually want to do is PLAY. Your videos are the only videos that guarantee a guitar in my hands before I'm even halfway through. Thank you for reminding me to maintain curiosity about the instrument I too often assume I'm thoroughly acquainted with. Thank you for reminding me there is ALWAYS more to explore. Thank you for just being a real cool ass dude with gnarly chops, great stories, and random nuggets of wisdom. I'm so thankful for your home schoolin'. It's because of you that I'm excited to play again... all the time. Thanks Tom.

Hey Tom, (that's how I'm supposed to start, right?)...just wanted to let you know that me and a few buddies are starting up a new band and we are paying homage to you and the way you have inspired us with the name of our band. We're calling ourselves Uncle Larry's Lawyers. "Uncle Larry" in honor of you and the "lawyers" part is a reference to the term "blues lawyer" which I understand to mean a guitar player that has gear that is of much higher quality than his/her skills on the instrument. Just a bit of self deprecating humor there. We're just getting things rolling, but one day, the dream is that we'll have our own t-shirts and we'll be able to send you one to wear on the old Homeskoolin' show. Keep up the great work!

"Hey Tom" Been following along since quarantine... Long time listener, first time writer... Always finding inspiration and thought-provoking sounds in your playing and hoping that an ounce of that shit sinks into mine. I may not be able to practice as much as I really want or need to (especially with 2 children) but i truly believe that playing an instrument is the gift that keeps giving. Music is not my career, but music and guitar has been absolutely key in getting me through some of the hardest times in life.
There's always something to learn even after 31 years of playing. Depends on how much you want to push yourself... Hearing the sounds and seeing the chords you put together are so great and will continue to push me to refine my playing, to find those special sounds that hit someone square in the chest and ultimately produce sounds that move someone to tears as they hear that special note that evokes emotion in the special moment in time. You seem to find those notes pretty regularly...
So here's my question... and I'm not sure on how to ask it bc it's so individualistic. I don't think I believe there's a special emotional note or phrase for EACH chord in a progression, but there's likely special note/phrase that depends on its placement in chord progression as a WHOLE. Are you aware of these situations in your playing and if so, can you talk about your thought processes?
Thanks so much Tom. Super can't wait to hear that record/CD or whatever people are calling it these days.

Someone is not paying attention in class. Uncle Larry was playing a beautiful Taylor 12 string and a beautiful custom PRS with one pickup and they both sounded great!

I've seen you play a strat, tele, les paul and yes ,a single pickup PRS, and many others, and it always sounds like you, Tom Bukovac, just like Beck sounds like himself no matter what guitar he's playing. Keep doing that.👍.

Enjoy your vid's and you are a very talented musician with a rich understanding of triads and their inversions. I also notice a strong Gilmor influence in a lot of your riff construction. So good to see someone who dives deep into tonealitys and their relationship to each other as opposed to "who can shred the fastest" all the time.

I always look forward to your intro jam. I have my guitar in hand. I see how fast I can pick up the key and play along. I am fairly quick to get it. Then it's 2-3 minutes of "Jam time with little Tommy from Cleveland". Makes my whole day. Thanks!

Thanks for the chords to Night Owl - I was going to figure those out during my lazy saturday but was happy and bummed at the same time when you went over them in this lesson - no problem but fun to figure out from loops, I'll go back and grab some lines you used over these chords. Thanks for all the material this week Tom. Too Much ;)

I saw you on Tim's channel and really liked what you do, and then I heard what you on Blue Collar Logic's video. Today, I watched Dave's show and hope that you can work things out with him. Keep up the great work. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit and share. Love your stuff.
