With all the bullshit going on in the world, it's so nice to know when you tune in here, it's one of the real and honest things in life. Thank you Tom!
My first night ever in Nashville my friend Daniel brought me to see a gig at 3rd&Lindsley and it was there I heard Tom play and his wife Sarah sing for the first time. This must be da place. Goosebumps and a tear in my eye . Such greatness🍷
"Country Boy Can Survive" - easily one of the greatest country songs ever recorded IMO. Every bit as awesome today as it was the first time I heard it.
If anyone was looking for a master class in guitar playing; this is it. This was the best playing I've ever found on TH-cam. No competition. Pure perfection.
Hank Williams Jr album Tom played on is It’s About Time. I love the casualness that Tom says, I played on an album with Hank Williams Junior one time and it was awesome, I forget the name of the album though.
I'm just gonna say this. I kept watching ya Tom because of your playing and attitude. Then I googled you after all the session guy comments.. Congrats Tom on a great career man truly blessed to have you on you tube teaching and giving all of us a huge insight on the session profession. Free lessons from a master.
I've been on Hank kick all week, thanks for that opening. My wife says if she rides with me one more time and hears Dinosaur she is going to strangle me! Anyway killer as always Uncle L your voicing are amazing.Would love for you to make a melody album of your favorite tunes. I'm sure it would be a master class in song arranging.
Mesmerised by the opening tune, watching you play takes me somewhere else, amazing. Hope you realise that you make this ordinary player dream of bigger things. Please keep this channel alive!
Hey Tom Been watching and enjoying for a quite a while. You make the day better, no lie. In addition to the often invaluable guitar info you present, your observations/opinions are often instructive as they open doors and give me ideas about different music to explore (such as Hank Williams, Jr.). Also, I have heard anyone else mention that Ian Anderson's acoustic playing (on songs like 'Wond'ring Aloud') is distinctive and excellent! You are unique and you really do make me chuckle with your casual, direct manner. (BTW, I was a HS choral director for 40 years up here in Long island , NY, and have three young kids who have asked me about my Homeskoolin' shirt and, as I'm watching the show, have taught me to subscribe, hit 'like' and all sorts of other basic internet stuff of which I was woefully ignorant).
Wow Good God son, that wasn’t a class that was a clinic. Thank you Tommy, I’m off to the woodshed now, see you 6 months. Awesome! You’re a Beast Uncle Larry
Some of the best playing I’ve ever heard. Damn. Went and learned the drop d acoustic version right after I watched this. Thanks for the inspiration and great lessons!
So I was just working on a part and I couldn't get right. I took a break and checked my phone only to see your thumbs up. I put my phone down and tried the part again and nailed it. Thanks for the Devine intervention. Now I'm ready for your sermon. 😉
Yeah Man You Definately Lit it UP ! I agree Hank & Hank Jr are amazing. Love it when you get lost my friend , Outstanding Vibes ! we Love you out here in the wild !.
I only saw the side shot of your mug when you took your first on camera sip and I thought of “selling England by the pound” and then I freaked when you showed the whole mug!! I have to find one too!!
Saw your rig run down at PremierGuitar. That intro you are playing there probably is the best guitar piece I`ve ever heard, man that was gorgious! At the level or better than Little wing by Hendrix!
My man! That riffing into Uncle Tommy's version of Country Boy Can Survive you win bruh you're my favorite guitar player that was Filthy McNasty! Thank you you made my night! WOOOOOOOOO!
Thanks so much, Uncle Larry for putting a smile on my face and fire in my soul. You can tell a teacher is as good as you if he makes you want to have a beer woth him. Have a real Good week
For later 0:00 Hank Williams Jr intro jam 5:09 hello class 7:17 tuning 8:32 record dry? 11:03 lapsteel 12:32 cup of tea 13:45 Funk ’49 14:54 intro lesson (V-)
For me, that Strat shaped guitar you just played had the best tone I've heard on your channel... WOW. The intro on this one was definitely out in orbit. I'm not a modern country music fan, but Hank and a few of the guys from back in the Country & Western days are still on my playlist. Thanks for the Trip!
Reggie young! I helped a friend with a demo last week, totally used drift away as the “inspiration” or reference for the guitar fills and solo. I love his playing.
So Uncle Larry, I am not usually one to comment on TH-cam or any public forum but damn buddy, that intro was fabulous. I could listen to that all day. Inspiring! You are indeed the Session Man! Keep it on up.
What a birthday treat to see a new vid of yours pop up! I just wanted to say thank you. This will probably get buried these days now you are hitting the youtube bigtime! But, really. Thank you. I'm glad a lot of these negative idiots are getting washed away in the crowd, they obviously have never had to pay for guitar lessons. You completely fixed my string bending problem I've had since day 1 (been going 9 months) by saying "smush your fingers together!" Now I'm practising bend vibrato with the little finger.. never thought I'd say that! Really dude, thank you so much.
Every Uncle Larry video I can hear the ‘wood’ in your guitars, and I listening on my iPhone, if that’s even a thing. Like on a song with intense vocals, the joy, love, anger, angsts, jealousy... all that I hear in your playing. Anyway, I sure dig your HS videos
Dear Tom.. Just reflecting on this: maybe the fact that you re grown with British music gives you a certain coolness to approach your sessions and fit in it so well ever. And we talk about real american rock. You put a perfect balance of creativity and codes. A kind of dialectical process, a back to back, side to side that make u so prolific in terms of searching chords, lines..It's like write your song in a song of someone else. Feel like that! Regards from the old world.
Hey Teach, First and foremost THANK YOU for your generous insights, honesty and your soul-filled ability throwing notes in the air. Thank you for that. Just wanted to put in a request for you to play and sing the whole song. I'd buy a ticket to that show... just putting it out there, you have a great, natural tamber that lends itself to the song. Again, thank you for you.
Drop-D masterclass over the iPhone, in the garage. Little Tommy doing Hank Williams, JR the right way. With tone out the wazoo. A meditation for a winter Saturday. Gracias!
Tom, I’m somewhat new to this channel of yours but I gotta tell ya brother You are always throwing down some great fucking sounds. I love this opening jam That open/drone string is fantastic ! Cheers 🍻
Could it be that I’m first? Great job Tom
Thank you my love!!!
Brilliant! ❤️
I was late to Tom’s video because I was watching Tim’s video...
Mighty fine playing going on right here! As previously stated - gr8 job!
I was late because I was in a session!
Man, those opening five minutes must rank among the best in the entire series. Love it!
“Whoa........I was just gone.”
So was I, brother............so was I.
After 89 of these it still blows me away that 1) a top Nashville session guy is doing this on TH-cam and 2) has a garage messier than mine!
Name a player that can move as freely on a guitar as Tom... Truly a master of the instrument
Jack Pearson may be the only guy anywhere close. Buk is in a class to himself for sure.
Best take on a Country Boy can Survive I've ever been privileged to witness. BAD ASS!
I scanned the comments to see if anybody else picked up on that!
For real. I love how he let it develop from that slowly meandering swamp thang.
That “Law and Order” guitar tone.
Loving that strat!!
With all the bullshit going on in the world, it's so nice to know when you tune in here, it's one of the real and honest things in life. Thank you Tom!
That jam turned me into a coyote.
Spot on!
Although he is light years away ... this guy gives me back the desire to play the guitar again
The only TH-camr I get excited about seeing a new video posted
Choosing my favorite intro is like choosing which child is the favorite, but this intro is my favorite- jaw dropping!
My first night ever in Nashville my friend Daniel brought me to see a gig at 3rd&Lindsley and it was there I heard Tom play and his wife Sarah sing for the first time. This must be da place. Goosebumps and a tear in my eye . Such greatness🍷

Whoa.... That intro, was incredible. One of the best I've heard on all of youtube
I find myself coming back to this one. Tom's a bad man with a strat in hand.
Thanks for the tip about pulling on the string if you’re slightly sharp. I’ve never heard that one. Pure gold, worth twice the price.
What a sound!!!!!!! And that playing is just killer.
First 5 minutes is the best original music I have heard in several months!
Hank Williams Jr album Tom played on is It’s About Time.
I love the casualness that Tom says, I played on an album with Hank Williams Junior one time and it was awesome, I forget the name of the album though.
I'm just gonna say this.

One of the wickedest riffs since this channel started.
What a gift these videos are to be able to watch you play up close like this. Your fluidity in chord work and melodies is something to behold!
Tommy! You just made my Saturday much better. Lot of "smear" going on there. Enjoy the weekend Homeskoolers.
Oh Lord, that intro was just SICK 😮
All time favorite country song. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Wow Good God son, that wasn’t a class that was a clinic. Thank you Tommy, I’m off to the woodshed now, see you 6 months. Awesome!
You’re a Beast Uncle Larry
Man that intro was a journey, incredible 👌🏼
You make all of us better
That was fantastic a song from my childhood thank you
"Country Boy' is one of the greatest country songs and you just upscaled it. You da man!
Some of the best playing I’ve ever heard. Damn. Went and learned the drop d acoustic version right after I watched this. Thanks for the inspiration and great lessons!
I love watching your videos on Sunday morning. It feels like I'm going to sonic church, with uncle Larry preaching the musical truth.
Thank you man very kind words
So I was just working on a part and I couldn't get right. I took a break and checked my phone only to see your thumbs up. I put my phone down and tried the part again and nailed it. Thanks for the Devine intervention. Now I'm ready for your sermon. 😉
Somebody in the last episode was asking your thoughts on the blues. That answers that. Great playing as always!
Yeah Man You Definately Lit it UP ! I agree Hank & Hank Jr are amazing. Love it when you get lost my friend , Outstanding Vibes ! we Love you out here in the wild !.
Dang it ... now I gotta go get my Strat out ... you're a total inspiration man.
Never fails to lighten my mood when I see Tom’s uploaded
Uncle Larry is the GOAT!
Agreed
I actually think u may be correct. No person is even close to this guy on TH-cam. With all due respect to the others, of course.
First time I've heard the parts organizer rattling. Dig it.
I only saw the side shot of your mug when you took your first on camera sip and I thought of “selling England by the pound” and then I freaked when you showed the whole mug!! I have to find one too!!
Hi Tommy, always a pleasure the alert of a new video ❤
Saw your rig run down at PremierGuitar. That intro you are playing there probably is the best guitar piece I`ve ever heard, man that was gorgious! At the level or better than Little wing by Hendrix!
The video I look forward to most on TH-cam. Thanks Tom.
I've already requested a Session Man from my closest Duesenberg dealer. Can't wait!
My man! That riffing into Uncle Tommy's version of Country Boy Can Survive you win bruh you're my favorite guitar player that was Filthy McNasty! Thank you you made my night! WOOOOOOOOO!
That was music!!!!! Very inspiring. Greetings from New Zealand
+1 for the coffee cup and the love you've given to the fabulous Selling England By The Pound LP
Well SOMEbody was feelin' it this morning... Damn, DUDE... Talk about being in the ZONE?! 👊🏻🥃😉
You’re a master man 🙏
Sunday morning here in Australia. Waking up to the Buk, life can’t get much better.
Thanks so much, Uncle Larry for putting a smile on my face and fire in my soul. You can tell a teacher is as good as you if he makes you want to have a beer woth him.
Have a real Good week

Tom. That was completely amazing. Just perfect. Tone was absolutely killer.
There are your average axemen who inhabit the shadows of TH-cam and then there is Tom Bukovac who shows you where it's really at!
Even the average guys can show you something they discovered. It’s the beauty of music. We all stumble on cool stuff that other people don’t know.
Your left pinky deserves its own channel!
INCREDIBLE TAKE ON THAT SONG!!
Reggie young! I helped a friend with a demo last week, totally used drift away as the “inspiration” or reference for the guitar fills and solo. I love his playing.
If I could put that tone in a bottle I would drink it no questions asked. Pure gold.
Incredible feel and tone. As Tom Dowd said about Clapton and Allman on Layla....”it’s all in the touch “
Gracias Tio Lary!! Super soulful. Fkn goosebumps
So Uncle Larry, I am not usually one to comment on TH-cam or any public forum but damn buddy, that intro was fabulous. I could listen to that all day. Inspiring! You are indeed the Session Man! Keep it on up.
Put a record out bro! I could listen to that all day! 👍🏻

Awesome opener!
Most expressive take!
Orbiting at it's finest! So glad I had a few minutes to tune in today. Thanks Uncle Larry!
I've been tuning wrong for 20 years! Thanks for that piece of information and for the show. I hope to teach most of this stuff to my kid one day.
Thank you man that warms the heart....very cool
Great performance uncle Larry. For all us gear heads it cool when you tell us what you're playing through. Thanks for sharing the music 🎶
What a way to start my sunday here in the snowed under Netherlands, I take my hat of sir!
Knowledge through demonstration, it’s a genuine gift to the faithful Tommy ❤️
Five minutes in and I can tell you that if this was a vinyl record, I would be wearing it out
Nice jams! love your playing Uncle Tom...
Strangling every conceivable tone out of six strings. F@#$ing beautiful.
Awesome musicality & groove. Why not have it all!
Well damn son!! that was awesome Hank Jr should be so proud really gr8 playing

Absolutely stellar as always!! Never cease to amaze!! Thanks Tom!
The opening jam, that sound is the sound of just before sundown, anywhere the town is small and the skies are big.
Tom,
I’m somewhat new to this channel of yours but I gotta tell ya brother
You are always throwing down some great fucking sounds. I love this opening jam
That open/drone string is fantastic !
Cheers 🍻
Great sounds from the Home Skoolin’ garage! 🤘🎸👍
Hank Jr.! An unexpected surprise, and I couldn't agree more.
My Saturdays good to go now. Thanks Tom.
Don't worry Uncle Lar, I'm working on watching all your videos. Awesome, awesome stuff!
Okay, this is tone, touch and an overwhelming musicianship!!
