  • If your Audi R8 doesn’t allow people to hear you when taking a call this video should help with one way of fixing the issue. There are other ways to fix this issue (like disconnecting the seatbelt mic in the system) but I haven’t tried those solutions nor have the device to do so.
There is a short version for a quick fix and then the longer explainer of my experience afterwards.

Good video. Question, I'm in the process of replacing my OEM seat belts with some colored ones...meaning ill lose the seatbelt mics. When you had cut the seatbelt mic wires...did you get a fault on your dash display? I assume not...and it's only a fault stored in the ECU and the fault only appears when a full report is pulled from the OBD2 diagnostic port? Thanks!

Hey, no light or fault code for me. I ran diagnostics a few weeks ago and it didn’t show up. If you have the time and patience it’s best to disconnect the wires but I had neither 😂

Did you know if you plug BOTH seat belts in, it will work perfectly? Audi don't tell you that tho. I had the same problem but worked it out. Audi make cars for a world market not just L or RH drive, so sensors are on both belts. Sorry you had to damage your car pal.

Hey Andy, so your fix is to plug the passengers belt in when no one is seated there?
The problem is the mic on the belt no longer works but the roof mic still does. When you unplug your belt it switches from belt mic to roof mic. The removal of the sensor is to simply trick the car into thinking you don’t have your belt on and need the roof mic

@@TimMyExperience hi. Yes. As Audi make basically the same car for lh and rh drive the electrics are the same. So if a US or UK driver is sitting in it the car can't differentiate, so plugging both belts in makes it work. Very relieved as could have been a complex and expensive trip to garage. Belt mike's are more muffled tho, but they do work
