Yep this is still true especially with the new Xbox players cominh in, if you have a lil gil to spend, i buy from the dyemonger and from the beast tribes then resell on the marketboard for like 5x the price. And I sell 2 at a time. I found most people maybe only need 1 or 2 of a dye for their glamour, so that's what I resell. I can see 40 of a dye on one retainer at a time and set it up so the retainer will sell in twos.
Thats not a problem at all lol crafting is a crap way to make money, especially with patches. Too many impatient people and crafting is too easy, people undercut things today to a quarter of the price. Now that is ridiculous and annoying. I made more gil selling mats than selling these new items
To me, Crystals are the most foolproof way to AFK farm gil. You just get your gatherers to at least level 26, give the gatherer jobs to your retainers, and just farm crystals all day long, and sell them in bundles of 1000. They'll always sell because demand is infinite, and it's such a low barrier for entry that you can do it super early on in the game.
You don't always have to undercut! If an item is selling frequently I sell smaller stacks at the listed price. The total will still be lower than someone undercutting the price by a few gil, and I make more gil per unit.
In fact, I over-cut. I find the highest price the item regularly sells at over a week period and go for that. In some cases, I make twice as much per item (or more) and don't have to worry about checking my retainers over and over again. Yes, your volume goes down but you work less and make more (per time invested).
right, particularly hq, if i need a few ingots for crafting, if the only hq stuff on sale is in way larger increments than i need, ill pay more for the convenience of just getting the stuff i need.
I never sell anything in 99 stacks. I always do them by 20 or 30 at least if not fewer. Not everyone needs a massive stack, but only a few to make something. I hate when I am looking for something on the MB and only see stacks of 99.
If you wanna earn gil, and also wanna dive into RP. A good way to get gil is to make a Miqo'te and go to the Quicksands.... not that I know anything about that.
2:40 Go back here and read the tooltip of the lumber. "Shop selling price" It means that a vendor sells it for that price. Always, always, always look for this when you buy things on the market board. You have no idea how much gil I make from people not knowing this and who buys it for sometimes 30 times the price. You know the hempen camise chestpiece that catgirls really like? The one you are wearing in this video. It is often on the mb for 39k. I buy it from a merchant for 57 gil right next to the Gridanian Aetheryte.
as someone who has bought some of that before... I didn't have access to the area yet. My crafters are way higher level than I was in MSQ, still are. They are all maxed, I am at lv 72 now in MSQ. A good reason that this works sometimes, other than just pure laziness.
@@MagdaRantanplan When I still played I renamed a retainer to "Buythisfromavendor" and flooded the white partition market with prices that just costs the tax above the vendor cost. It used to cost 19k on Loisoux
Something I use all the time for easy, lazy gil is drop into Eureka Pyros for the bunny farms. Its a bit of a process getting to at least that point in the side content, but every coffer will garaunte net you a certain amount of gil (bronze is 10k, silver is 25k, gold is 100k). And the non-100% drops from each variant can net you stuff that can be typically sold on the marketboard for 30k to up to 4 million with the rarest drop. You also want Pyros specifically because Pagos, the second of four zones, is hell... and Hydatos is so wide you can literally get chests at the far corners of the map. Pyros is so centralized and the southern variant of the fate as a max elemental level will never send you to packs that will aggro you since it's the bottom half only. And people get back so quickly that the event retriggers fairly consistently - which means more coffers per time you spend.
Made about 50 million from hunt trains. Was almost getting millions from selling materia when the prices where so at beginning of tiers when people wanted to penta meld. I also made like 6 million Gil selling iron ore I would buy from npcs across 3 characters. That was always funny cause I would up the price so much.
One very easy way to make slow but reliable money, is to resell NPC dyes. Yes, dyes, especially the beast tribe ones. Most of them will cost you anything from 5-250 gil each, but on the marketboard will usually sell for at least 500 gil each. Just check the history beforehand, not everything has worthwhile returns, and some dyes aren't very popular.
I've never seen my husband's face light up so quickly for a mount, but adores that Silkie so much that he IMMEDIATELY walked over to me and said "Where?!" "Where what?" "Where can I get that? It's so fluffy!" "Oh, uh, complete every path in the dungeons underneath Ul'dah." "Oohh..." "Looks like you'll have to take a vacation from WoW, babe." "...How far d--" "Endwalker, I think!" "Alriiiight, gotta work on my Garo achivements anyway." 🤗❤
Its kinda funny that I dont use any of these tips to make gil. I couldent be bothered with the market board so I just dedicated my subscription to learning to decorate and now I decorate houses for the fabulously wealthy
I just sell for Data Center for below average. I look at the data for what I want across my whole Data Center, sell it for a below average amount. This usually sells within the hour because it's cheaper than everything else, while still netting me a huge profit as I craft from base material. Retainer value has shot up exponentially for me.
If you've leveled your crafters and their desynth levels then shadowbringers Extreme trial farming is the best way to make money hands down. Otherwise, treasure maps are low effort and will leave you wealthy with just 3-4 hours of play. It may seem like a lot, but you typically can only do it once every 4 days without buyimg maps from the mb. You should also max out gatherers period if you want to make any amount of gil in the game. Lastly, if you're in an active FC, getting them to do maps will help you all grow as a whole. For example, if 8 people in the same FC do maps for 3 hours and walk away with a million gil each, then your FC essentially made 8 million gil plus sellable mats in the same time it would take to do roulettes.
To remedy this, take commissions from the sub discord. The commisions go for less then a MB would fetch, but it's gauranteed your time/work is compensated from the get-go and your only taking on what you want, when you want
made my gil from crafting the parts needed for ARR relic and selling some Higher Ranked GC items constantly. In the end, if you REALLY want the gil just stick with a good source and check daily. easy mode.
I just have my retainers get materials for me and max craft the items they gather and its easy passive gil so when I do need the gil for hard things to craft i got enough to be lazy :)
I got into crafting extremely late. (In EW...) but I finally levelled them up and ensure they're best in slot. The best money comes from new crafted sets and glamours in patches! But there's definitely so always ways to make gil with crafting even after that! And there's a lot of great macros out there that make it super easy! Also, my tip for market board is, try to match the prices of other items sold by other players, if you find that you're being cut by 1gil, you can also do the same, but honestly it makes no different. The only time it is a problem is by massively undercutting, this really damages gil making, while being in rush to sell an item, it's better to sell it at the same price as others.
i always sell my maps because as a solo player its faster money for me since i can get a map a day basically. 25k x 7 is 175k over a week. and in a month thats 700k, and thats a low end of selling maps!
yep, make easy gil by overpricing, 1.5 M with rock salt, 10k each; 40 M with hardsilver sand, 100k each. by each I mean each singular item, not stack. it may take a while though. :)
Try to have a few retainers...send them out on quick ventures...they will occasionally bring back very expensive items to sell...like white and black dye...or nice glam people pay high prices for.
I remember when orchestral rolls first came out. People didn't realize you could buy them from npcs and I made like 5 million in 2 days before everyone realized lol After today this is the last time I get excited for a crafting patch, too many idiots these days dropping the price of items less than a day old to a quarter of the price just to try and sell it faster, I made more gil selling basic mats last patch than wasting 2 weeks gathering stuff for this patch just to be undercut to prices under 3k.
