You got any tips for anyone wanting to get into repair professionally. I got hit with the repair bug a year ago, I absolutely love learning about electronics and it has become an obsession since, it’s a long road for someone not previously electrically minded but I love the challenge. Where did you learn? How do I get to your level? I Love the videos, there easily my favourite repair vids on TH-cam an I watch a lot.
To be honest I kind of fell into it after losing my job because of an injury but it took a lot of practice. I started small, offering controller repairs at £15 per controller and slowly moved on to doing hdmi ports, hard drives and other basic repairs. As I got better and made more money I started buying better equipment and eventually landed a job running a local repair shop (I was recruited) but when covid hit I decided since I already had basic equipment I was going to offer it from home. Everything kind of fell into place for me to be honest

I love these water damaged Xbox1s videos. I have an Xbox1s that my cat pissed in and it went pop and black screen immediately. I tried to clean it up with IPA but no go. It beeps then turns off in 3 sec.

Hi Phil, great video as always. Im repairing an xb1s, no power. Power rail is fine, all MOSFETs are reading properly and obviously no short to ground. The D section on the board gets very hot to the touch, specifically L4D1 location. I have replaced that component with another and still that area is nuclear 🔥. Any advise?
Coils do generally get hot but it could be anything on thay particular line really. You would need to potentially remove components on that line one by one until the heat goes away
when you were tidying up the capacitors what tip were you using?
I use a small bevel tip for 90% of the stuff I work on. It allows me to drag, scrape and do normal soldering too

@@TheCod3r happy days mate, Ive always got my refunds back from ebay fairly quick. Oh quick question if the southbrdge is short on a console can you just swap it for another ? or they married to each individual board
I have one with the same shorted 12v rail but it´s not the mosfets, what else can i check?
It could be anything on the 12v rail to be honest. You can inject voltage and find out what gets hot but it's impossible to list where ot could be to be honest

@@TheCod3r Yeah, can I put in a 1TB SSD for example? My One S is struggling to play the likes of Control, and finding a Series X is impossible. Besides the Series S is fine for my needs, just need a bit more built in storage.
