    Sorry if someone posted this. You can go to the video inspector. Click markers. Add a marker for 0:00:00 and you can add a action or macros.

      Yes now you can! But this just became available in the latest update 7.10

    For replacing video: we create a presentation slide and add the macros and other stuff, then put in our weekly commands folder. But instead of doing all that you do, you can simple drag the new video from finder and drop on the slide. It will replace the video and keep everything the same until you replace it again. We do this for everything from countdown to bumper video to are worship backgrounds. Hope this helps!

      That pretty much what we’ve started doing.. I don’t ever “import” media files through the import button anymore haha

      Thanks for the suggestion! Right now we pretty much have a look dedicated to each part of the service then we add it to the corresponding macro.

    The workaround I have done for the scheduled video / macros is add a linked playlist in my media bin that it cues up. I labeled a folder in the media bin called Macros, I have separate media playlists for each type of video in there, a countdown, beginning of service bumper, sermon bumper. So, when we have a new video for each type I just replace the old one in there.

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Boom. Great method. I like the idea of keeping those in the Media Bin

    8:00 I’ve been searching for something where we can apply media actions to videos, but I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who has experienced this quirk with videos.
    I have yet to find a better way, so this may be the most workable solution

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, kind of tedious if you import video often. Wish there was a way to automatically create a presentation when you import a video

      @@ZachBrownMedia guys I believe yo can go in the video inspector and add macros directly to the videos along with Markers that you can attach macros to

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is that only with the most recent update? That’d be a decent option.. still not as simple as drag and drop unfortunately

    • @A-yoPaul
      @A-yoPaul 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZachBrownMedia yes I believe so…

    • @Matt_Bird
      @Matt_Bird 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@A-yoPaul That's really helpful. In the inspector, on the add marker you drag your macro in there.
      What is interesting is that this now gives the option to change looks mid video as well which is fascinating.
      Once again not as simple as drag and drop onto the main show view, but at least the option is there now and I no longer have to essentially create extra presentation items just to cue a video.

    Great video and tips!
    For your video and wrapping a macro around it without a lot of steps, you could simply drag the video onto the slide that contains a macro. Another option that would give you more flexibility would be to have a simple "Announcement Video" an item consisting of two slides dedicated to the video. The first slide could be used as a setup slide and would be where the macro resides. This can be a great workflow slide to ensure screens have the correct look, re-cue lights, etc. The second slide would be where you drag the video and would be the slide the operator clicks to fire the video. The second slide could also have its own macro; say to dim all the lights in the room if you have MIDI lighting.

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah for sure! One way or another you have to get a video inside of a presentation for ideal use. Would be nice if Pro7 automatically created a presentation with that video included upon import.

    • @WilliamVallance
      @WilliamVallance 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We pretty much do this every week. Just drag drop new video on the same presentation slide and it overwrites the old video. All the macro and other actions remain.

  • @TheLegendaryKuru

    Thanks for the helpful tips! I'm definitely gonna use some of these to tweak our setup. Something we do for videos, since we have a couple that change every week but happen roughly the same time in the service, is just drag the video file straight onto the blank slide with the macro. Once the file is in the slide, it acts as media and you can right click to go to the inspector on it for tweaks or change if you want it to be a foreground media or background. Then when a new video is dragged onto it, it simply replaces the old automatically. And we have a Library called "Service Segments" for those recurring slides and objects that are just dragged into the playlist each week during setup (e.g. offering video, announcements video, etc).
    Question - Do your guys' Pre-service and Service End macros cue up the same announcements loop?

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great workflow for videos. Great idea. I'll have to play around with that some!
      For your question: Not really. We attach the Pre-Service Macro to the Pre Service announcement loop. Then for the end of service we actually don't go back to the Announcements.. we just play a short video that says, "thanks for joining us, see you next week!" And that video has the End of Service Macro attached to it.
      So if you want different macros for pre-service and post-service announcements, I would just duplicate the Announcements and drop one macro on each.

  • @WilliamVallance
    @WilliamVallance 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It has been a while so I'm sure you have discovered you can use the same presentation each week for the video and just drag/drop the new video on that presentation slide. If you have anything set up with inspector that won't retain, but the actions on the presentation will.

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah this is basically what we do know, though I wish you could still just bring in a video and it by default it formats to a slide haha

    Thank you for your video! I have a question regarding the "Pre-Service Countdown Video"-Makro
    How is it possible to fire the countdown with a macro, when the video is not in the playlist? You said you have the video in the playlist just for backup. I did not find a action to do that.

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! Didn’t mentioned this in the video I guess but if you right click on the macro.. there should be an option to “add media action” and you can then choose a video on your computer to be added to that action.

    Any thoughts on sending different videos to the online audience look and main screens at the same time? I can get video to run but the audio for both run the front of house…

    • @ZachBrownMedia
      @ZachBrownMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, Pro7 has 16 audio channels you can route audio to. You'll have to send in-house audio to channels 1-2 and then send the audio for that 2nd video to audio channels 3-4 for example.
      This video from Ryland Russel explains this in more detail: th-cam.com/video/hj7Dt38x600/w-d-xo.html

    It's kind of mind blowing to me that you can't trigger a header or presentation in a macro..or am I missing something? And the fact that you can't rearrange the events in a macro is also quite odd...if you want to you have to remove all and start over..ugh PP7 is the best yet most frustrating piece of software.
