I just received my venetian polo as well as a dressy semi spread polo. Both polos were 2x’s , but they were still different in sizes. The venetian polo fit true to size while the other one was way bigger. I am 5’9 240. The polos are nice, but you’re taking a chance because none of the sizes match when going from one polo to another.

Unrelated a bit, but I am 60's and love a POLO and have bought many Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic size Medium. I'm 5'5" and athletic build and I just discovered HOLLISTER fit really well. My daughter said I'm too old for HOLLISTER but I don't care. And they are cheap and always on sale so I can buy many for much less than other name brands.

Firstly, I think Alpha looked VERY stylish and outstanding in the striped polos vs. the solid colors. I actually felt like the stripes brought him out. Secondly, I think men should do what makes them feel comfortable with polos. I am an avid polo wearer, and some polos I do wear and undershirt, and others I go without, as that makes me feel confident and sexy, and also it feels better. Not to mention, but certain brands and cuts of polos (Nautica for example) do a VERY good job of showing off your chest gains, and can look and feel even better without an undershirt. I also have polos of different solid colors, and a few stripes. And lastly, I have seen some muscular dudes who actually pull off the striped polo well.

I am 5' 9 220 athletic build and ordered my first Collar & Co polo, semi-spread collar in navy blue, size XL. When I first tried it on, I immediately noticed how stiff and tall the color felt. Just a little tall and stiff for me. It feels like card board is sewed into the color. Otherwise the shirt is comfortable, fits perfect and is definitely a dressier polo. I couldn't see myself wearing this polo with shorts. I tried it on a with a sport coat and have to say it looked great, but I just cannot get over the stiffness of the color. If I had a longer neck, I am sure the collar would not rub my upper neck-line/lower jaw as is does. I am debating on keeping it. I am curious how the collar will look after a wash? Maybe it will make it will break down the insane stiffness of the collar?

Im 5"10 225 muscular build, ordered the XL and wasn't a good fit. Too long and was boxy. Also, I found that the original collar is not for me. I recommend semi-spread collar which is the re-order I just placed. will update when new order arrives. Went with white and navy this go around. Had also purple and pink in previous order, and didnt think the pink was worth keeping. Will circle back when I get the re-ship items .

I've got to be honest. I've purchased Cuts and John Henric after watching this channel love them. These polos seem to violate all previous style rules. The sleeves should slightly grip the arm to accentuate the bicep/tricep. These hang on the arm like a discount polo at Walmart. I know they're sponsoring this video and Aaron is the man, but this is a swing and a miss for me. Sorry.

The concept is great, having a polo shirt that doesn’t look like it was tan over by a truck. However, for the price point I was expecting more. The sleeves are too wide (I’m slim at 165 size small). The collar is too high on the neck making it uncomfortable and hot. Making a few changes to the design will definitely improve the shirts.

I think there are a lot of valid points made in the comments, but come on, guys. Sixty bucks is not that bad for a polo, and it's cheaper than getting some lower-quality outlet version of other labels' products. I personally would prefer a more matted look, especially if I'm wearing this under a suit, but then again, the checks scare the bejeesus out of me, because the collars are already reminiscent of the dreaded short-sleeve dress shirts that Young Sheldon [Cooper] wears, and paired with the checks, I'd probably look even more unstylish and dated. It's worth a try a solid, though.

    • @therrendunham5594
      @therrendunham5594 ปีที่แล้ว

Okay, so as promised, I bought a polo from Collars & Co; it was a light blue houndstooth, size XL. At first glance, it was...incredibly shiny? To be honest, it felt like there should have been a tag that said it was made from recycled soda bottles. I know that the 'performance,' moisture-wicking shirts are made from polyester, but this felt plasticky, especially compared to other brands like Polo Ralph Lauren and Under Armour (who I still believe are tops at producing this sort of thing). I also didn't like that the pattern was only on one side; the underside was white, which I only find with low-end apparel, and definitely not a good look for a shirt that runs north of 75 dollars.
Now, about the fit and finish: Aside from the fabric, the buttons would have benefitted from being made out of mother of pearl of bone (the plastic just reminded me more of its presumed cheapness). As for fit, I think it drapes pretty well for my physique, with a caveat: This is not what you wear if you're looking to make up for any shortcomings. This shirt will only accentuate what you already have: If you have broad shoulders (like I do), it will bring them out; if you have a bit of a keg (as I do), it will show, too. I think that's more a function of the material than the cut, but this may vary with other people.
The collar and placket are where the shirt shines. They are remarkably stiff--almost artificially so. It's gonna take a little bit to get used to, but under a blazer or sportscoat, this thing looks amazing. Having four buttons seems a bit odd to me, though, a little unnecessary. Three would have been fine. Regardless, the placket is going to stay put, as will the collar. So, in that regard, it does what it's intended to do.
The only concern I have going forward is how will this thing hold up after five washes? Ten? Three summers' worth? That's the X-factor for me: Will the collar eventually wear out? And with regular use and proper care, when? And I think that's going to be an important question Collars & Co. are going to have to consider as other competitors enter the ring and eventually undercut them on price (and outperform them on material quality).
So, tying a bow to all of this, in my honest, unbiased opinion: Is it worth it? I'm going to say yes, but with some caveats:
      1. If price is your primary concern, this isn't the shirt for you, and you can probably find better shirts at a lower (and definitely higher) price point.
      2. If material quality--and fit and finish--mean a lot to you, you can do a little better with higher-end labels, and you can do a lot worse at Walmart or Target.
      3. I'm not sure if this appeals to the average man; it seems like this is a specific product for a specific type of person. For instance, these shirts are (almost) perfect for a business casual ensemble or a night out on the town. That's about it.
      4. Unless you're the type that looks good in anything, I think the long-sleeved variants are goofy.
      5. We're not going back to the jewel-colored dress shirt fad of the early 2000's; they're going to have to come out with more matted looks and different materials (maybe a tri-blend).
      6. And speaking of fads, understand that what makes you unique today can make you look dated tomorrow.
Overall, I think Collars & Co. is asking you to pay somewhat of a premium for a middle-of-the-road shirt. With a decent discount, though, it's worth a look. Buy it at $49.99, not $79.50.
