Guys! After you manage to get SD2VITA as your main SD card storage do not format the Sony SD card as sometimes if your Vita crash and you have to reboot, the system will automatically look for the original Sony SD card rather than SD2VITA and if it can't find H Encore, you have to re -jailbreak your device.

For any of you guys out there who were wondering the same as me - You can switch back and set your MC as ux0 (main memory) via the TF card plugin tool first option. The vita will reboot and you can play your original carts again. So far I was switching back and forth and no corrupt data was observed. I just hope I am using it as I am supposed to, since I could not find any specific information on this online. *Please, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong*
Yes you can do that, or you can do even better ;) 1) Return MC as ux0 and PS2VITA as uma0 - and Reboot 2) Remove PS2VITA from slot and insert actual game (will mount on gmo0) 3) Dump game to ux0 with generating license (NoNpDrm plugin) 4) Remove game from slot and insert PS2VITA 5) Move dumped game from ux0 to uma0 6) Switch back PS2VITA as ux0 and MC as ux0 - and Reboot This way you have your 'cartridge' game installed, you can play it without changing carts again. You have your (multiple) original games back upped on the PS2VITA and you may play them all - all the time ;) now bigger PS2VITA make more sense. And in this use case permanent h-encore make more sense too, because you have to reboot the device at least two times.
This tutorial saved me from near heartache. My Vita just started giving me the random, "You removed your memory card" messages every time I would use my Vita after it would go into rest mode. Which was a sign that my 3 year old 32 GB Vita memory card (I saved up and bought it back when they were WAY expensive) was about to go soon. I got an SD2Vita and a 64 GB SD card just in time to utilize this tutorial before my memory card bit the dust. Thanks Tech James, you da real MVP! T_T
With these ridiculous prices, the most sensible option is to buy cheapest Vita memory stick (like 4gb or something) and apply this tutorial. (cuz you won't be able to use henkaku without memory card on 100x series)

For those who pc doesnt recognize ps vita, try this method 1. After making sd2vita sd card adapter, use the tf.card.plugin and make it as uma0. 2. When its done insert into vita, go on vitashell, hit start and set as memory card & ftp (for me filezilla) 3. From filezilla copy all the files in ux0 to your pc 4. Go back to vitashell, hit start and set as sd2vita & ftp 5. From filezilla if you refresh folder you'll see uma0, copy and paste all files you copied from ux0 to uma0 6. Once done, follow the tutorial from 4:30 Hope this helps, i personally figured this out because for some reason my pc wont recognize any of my ps vita through usb

Thanks, man. Everyone else's guides weren't working for me and I had no idea why. My guess is the auto plugin app kinda sucks and didn't properly enable the sd2vita plug in but I'll never know. Your guide cleared everything up and now it's working. Thanks agani.
Thanks Tech James, my setup is working. Though I skipped the SD2Vita setting up as mount from Vitashell. Instead I copied all UX0 contents and pasted it while my SD Card is plugged on my PC SD Card reader, seems its a bit faster than Vitashell mount. Once copied everything is working with the steps you provided with no data corruption. Also got it with first try, I am using the white SD2Vita adaptor I bought for almost 2$ from China

You can also just copy the ux0 file content to your uma0 folder using vitaShell. No need for the usb connection once you have the SD card configured to UMA0 :D Good tutorial tho!

WHEN DELETING THE APPS FOLDER, BE CAREFUL OF NOT DELETING THE H-ENCORE APP (PCSG90096)...i learned this the hard way, after everything setup to use sd2vita as ux0, i deleted all apps on my memory card and tried to restart... and then the h-encore app won't work...thankfully i installed again using qmca, just be carefully everyone...and this is one of the reasons i would much rather use sd2vita as uma0, too bad vita games won't work on uma0.Great tutorial!

MY DUDE! Tech James, you've given my Vita life. I've followed all your guides and was able to install everything successfully with no corrupt files or hiccups. I have everything: Adrenaline, Retroarch, PKGj and using a 128gb as my main storage. I'm playing off of the phat Vita 3.67 henkaku. Cheers mate, I owe you a 6 pack one day! One thing tho is some GBA/SNES games run slow like FFTA and Killer Instinct. Think that's the game file or the emulator itself? I'ma look into getting different emus.
TO THOSE WHO DON'T SEE umaO! I'm on a phat ps vita and tried a 5.0 sd2vita. IT DIDN'T WORK. My setup was perfect, but it wouldn't connect to pc or make a umaO file. I bought a 3.0 just like the one used in the vid. This fixed all my issues. Long story short: Phat vita? buy 3.0 like the vid.

To get this to work you have to do all of the steps in the previous video and not stop at 6:20 and come to this video. If you're on 3.68 do not wipe the internal memory card as the sd2vita isn't recognized on a reset.
For anyone that was still having errors at the very end just like I was please don't forget to go into your settings go to devices go to storage devices and then remember to swap out ux0 to SD2Vita and uma0 to Internal storage Hope this helps

Thanks...worked great. Tried to follow another video and when He brought over h-encore and vita shell through psvimgtool and opened them up within his vita, Mine said that I didn't have ownership so I gave up. Glad I found ur video. Takes a long time when u have a 64gb vita memory to backup though.
For those that had problems backing up files from the memory card, go to h-encore and press install henkaku. Before, Windows refused to copy paste but now it does.
just modded my vita so I could back up all of my games. The vita was the perfect console for those ps1 and ps2 games. Just imported my back ups and its fantastic since its running through the vita architecture instead of through 3rd party emulation. Playing through parasite eve now.
For those wondering how they can use their physical games without corrupting the SD2Vita files, go into the VitaShell, hit triangle and click unmount gamecard ux0. When it tells you it's been unmounted you can close the message and leave VitaShell. (You can take out the SD2Vita card immediately after the confirmation message or wait until you've exited VitaShell) Now you can put your physical game in and restart the Vita. You have to restart, otherwise, you will get an error message if you try to play your game right away. Once you've restarted the Vita you can play your physical copy as you normally would. Hope this helps others, as I had to figure this out on my own and corrupted my h-enore file and had to reinstall it.

as far as I know you cand do this with a vita slim installing all the things you need on internal storage, same with vita tv, if you hava phat vita you'll need a sony sd card a 4gb will suffice.
Sócrates Parra so there is not a way to abandon the Sony Ram with phat model? I mean sd2vita needs a Sony memory card with the phat model to run the henkaku and use the sd2vita as a storage memory. I thought there is a way to use the sd2vita as a main memory for installing henkaku on it and no need to use the Sony Ram with phat 😓 Thanks anyway

I've been following the steps exactly as you've mentioned. For some reason, once, I create the backup folder for the vita files and switch the USB Device to SD2VITA, it says "Please insert a microSD"
Will I still be able to use the same slot as normal for original games carts as well?? And also what do you think is better to use as a external memory of main memory ?
I am able to download and play games from PKGJ (as well as going online and earning trophies after following theflows’ instructions for getting rid of the trophy warning). I will get the trophy warning after a reboot and initialization of h-encore but I don’t get it more importantly when I go to play my games after the same boot but that’s just a minor issue. Anyhow, the only thing that really remains to be a thorn in my side is that anything that I download from PKGJ that is an unlock license that is typically 100kb in size for unlocking hidden content within game apps (in my case Pinball Arcade) the pinball tables related to those unlocks will not turn up in the menu of the game, however, the full sized DLC addon tables that I download through PKGJ do show up in the menu of Pinball Arcade. It has to be just one little thing out of place for the 100kb liscence files to be read properly. I really appreciate any help with this.
Thanks everything worked great except now when I reach a save point in my back up game of killzone I get the error "Could not save the file. (C2-2004-6)" Is there a fix for this? I have a slim on 3.68 with no Sony memory card.
I did everything, and checked to make sure everything was set ok, and rebooted, but lost my folders. Thankfully, holding left trigger when turning it on reset it back. I read somewhere that hidden folders needs to be ON. I am making another backup, and gonna compare to the other backup to see what is different.

I tried exactly like u showed us here (fat ps vita, 128 GB micro SD. 16 GB Sony mmc) and it did not work. All I can do is uninstall the TFC Plugin and delete vita shell (because it got corrupted, showing C1-2738-0) then restart the system to run h-encore again, just to reinstall vita shell and TFC Plugin again for no good use. I can get the sd2vita to run as uma0, but as main storage? No chance. Don't know why tho.
Oh and even if I reinstall vita shell etc. It still show as corrupted. Only it I restart, run the exploit and chose 'Reset taiHEN cinfig.txt' I can use a new installed vita shell again. Wtf is this?
@@spiderakira1068 I had the same problem. I had problems with almost everything. I figured out today that it was the memory card. I was sold a fake memory card. The computer and everything else sees it as a 126gb memcard but in real life it's way less. I don't know if that is the problem with yours but it was my problem. Search for fake SD card on TH-cam and you will see what I mean.

Anime Monocle Can I use a SD2VITA 5.0 on a PS Vita 2004 (Europe)?
I don't know what model that is. If its a PCH 1101 then I'd get a 3.0. I can't speak for any other models

i did everything you have done in this video but but when I turned Off the device, disconnected the sony storage card then powered On the device, there was nothing. No Hencore no nothing.... so i must always have an official sony storage memory in?
there's a way to have only the sd2vita?

as far as I know you cand do this with a vita slim installing all the things you need on internal storage, same with vita tv, if you hava phat vita you'll need a sony sd card a 4gb will suffice.

Sócrates Parra so there is not a way to abandon the Sony Ram with phat model? I mean sd2vita needs a Sony memory card with the phat model to run the henkaku and use the sd2vita as a storage memory. I thought there is a way to use the sd2vita as a main memory for installing henkaku on it and no need to use the Sony Ram with phat 😓

How will you transfer games via qcma? If you swap memory cards? Sd2vita and ux0 ?
Excellent guide, bro! Just to remark - When You switch between umai0 and ux0 , you have to ununstall plug-in first /4th option on main menu/.

I've been following the steps exactly as you've mentioned. For some reason, once, I create the backup folder for the vita files and switch the USB Device to SD2VITA, it says "Please insert a microSD"
I get the same message. Please insert a micro sd card . Did you find a solution?

I am able to download and play games from PKGJ (as well as going online and earning trophies after following theflows’ instructions for getting rid of the trophy warning). I will get the trophy warning after a reboot and initialization of h-encore but I don’t get it more importantly when I go to play my games after the same boot but that’s just a minor issue. Anyhow, the only thing that really remains to be a thorn in my side is that anything that I download from PKGJ that is an unlock license that is typically 100kb in size for unlocking hidden content within game apps (in my case Pinball Arcade) the pinball tables related to those unlocks will not turn up in the menu of the game, however, the full sized DLC addon tables that I download through PKGJ do show up in the menu of Pinball Arcade. It has to be just one little thing out of place for the 100kb liscence files to be read properly. I really appreciate any help with this.

Is there a fix for this? I have a slim on 3.68 with no Sony memory card.
I did everything, and checked to make sure everything was set ok, and rebooted, but lost my folders. Thankfully, holding left trigger when turning it on reset it back. I read somewhere that hidden folders needs to be ON. I am making another backup, and gonna compare to the other backup to see what is different.
So which is better to set SD2Vita as? uma0 or ux0? And if we switch will that screw up the bubbles? Or corrupt?

Hello. Waiting for my SD2VITA and micro SD to arrive from Amazon. Still not sure about some stuff cuz I can’t do it yet. But do you suggest making this change ASAP, or should I be adding ISOs and things first? Sorry for n00b question!
I tried exactly like u showed us here (fat ps vita, 128 GB micro SD. 16 GB Sony mmc) and it did not work. All I can do is uninstall the TFC Plugin and delete vita shell (because it got corrupted, showing C1-2738-0) then restart the system to run h-encore again, just to reinstall vita shell and TFC Plugin again for no good use. I can get the sd2vita to run as uma0, but as main storage? No chance. Don't know why tho.
Oh and even if I reinstall vita shell etc. It still show as corrupted. Only it I restart, run the exploit and chose 'Reset taiHEN cinfig.txt' I can use a new installed vita shell again. Wtf is this?

@@spiderakira1068 I had the same problem. I had problems with almost everything. I figured out today that it was the memory card. I was sold a fake memory card. The computer and everything else sees it as a 126gb memcard but in real life it's way less. I don't know if that is the problem with yours but it was my problem. Search for fake SD card on TH-cam and you will see what I mean.
So you need like class 10 mem cards right?
