The only update I would add to this is in order to transfer files onto the new storage you have to make sure that the USB device is set to SD2Vita in VitaShell. The video didn’t show that part so when I first started to transfer files it was going to the old 8gb card. I was worried I did something wrong. I didn’t. The video just left this step out. He tells you to swap everything else around correctly he just leaves out the USB transfer settings swap to the SD2vita
I just received everything in the mail to do this today and was looking for a video and you happen to do it with the most perfect timing. Thank you for being extremely easy to follow
Your videos are like the greatest tutorials ever made, so polished, so well done, the video is not long, and you even have a nice smile on your face, thanks for making this youtube channel
As a reminder to anyone doing this, remember that if you already have your vita games installed when you do the copying to sd2vita process then it's going to take a while for it to finish since the system will be slow with copying larger files.
Thanks i got a PSV1000 oled with sd2vita and internal memory. took a while since i had a lot of the internal space used 🤣 Reasuring knowing im not doing anything wrong🙏
@@steez7864 Anything you already have on the sony memory will only be copied over to sd2vita. once you finish copying over the games you can delete them from the sony memory to free the space up while it's still set to be the main storage. Once you set the sd2vita to be the main memory, any games and anything else you decide to put on it will only save to the microsd and won't go to the sony memory unless you copy them there. but trust me when I say don't do that because the sony memory chips are extremely weak and might stop working suddenly because of files being transferred to it constantly. Thankfully I only lost my 8gb memory because of that and know not to do transfers with the 64gb memory and only use it for normal vita use.
i just found your channel today! used your videos to tsop flash and replace the hard drive in my old xbox! you helped this old man learn and had a blast doing it! thank you!
Gonna be ordering a SD2Vita soon and this video will be super helpful, thank you for this. I still play my Vita off and on these days I think this storage upgrade will change this to often. :P I have a White PS Vita from launch. I also managed to snag a PS TV for a unbelievable $20 back then from amazon.
For anyone that encounters the issue where there is a Error when formatting: Try double-checking that the SDcard is secured properly in your Adapator and when placing the Adaptor in your PSVITA, make sure it is inserted before you power on your system. This will prevent the possibility of the system mis-reading the sdcard as it was placed before the system was power-cycled. Hope this helps!

the description on amazon for the SD2VITAS says It can only handle SD cards up to 256 GB of memory. The SD card you are using has much more memory then that so Is the description wrong? I want a lot of memory but I dont wabt to waste money on an SD card that mey not work

Hey, I followed your instructions in the video, everything was going well until I had to go into the Settings>Devices>Storage Devices for the 2nd time, where you switched it up and changed the ux0: to SD2Vita and uma0: Memory Card. When I did this and rebooted, all the apps that I added after hacking disappeared. I about had a heart attack, but switched it back around, rebooted, and everything appeared again. What did I do wrong? I can't get the apps to appear on screen when I switch it around like you had it.
Weird, when I go to VitaDeploy and download the apps it doesn't take me to the same screen you show (VitaShell). It just stays on the download page and says it's been installed. When I go to the home screen all the apps did their thing without anything else. For fun, I went into shell and tried to "install" what was downloaded and got an error. Vita 1001 with Sony 4gb card.
I'm so depressed right now please someone help me, I put in the final settings and I lost ALL of my data, everything, all my games, hundreds of hours gone I'm so frustrated right now please help me
Its way easier to jailbreak the vita right now. Before Henlo is released, I'm using the vita memory card method to easily hack a vita, I also used Android Phone as alternative to run finalhe instead of using a PC. But now, it can be easily done only with the use on the web browser of the vita, no pc or psn account required (similar process to the vita 3.60 firwmware)
Thank you! Your videos have been so helpful, very easy to follow and understand. I'm happy to be able to breathe new life into my PSTV and keep it going for years to come. Cheers friend
So I tried this and followed everything exactly and all the apps and stuff disappeared, I checked the data and it shows i have all the games and everything but the actual apps for the modded vita are all gone. I don't know how to fix this.. any help?

I currently have a few games installed on my vita memory card through pkgj and the storage is full. Is there any way that I can use the SD2Vita as additional storage for more games without having to copy everything from the vita memory card over to the SD2Vita storage?

But now when I plug the vita into my PC only the original Vita memory card shows up and I can't add anymore games? How do i access the new memory card to put games on?
