Fuck man this is heavy as hell. Huge kudos for not falling into the "weird noise = thall" trap. Pitch shifting was tasteful, stutter effects were well placed, and those low string harmonics felt like my brain was getting scratched in the exact right place. Hope you do some more of this!
What an amazing production quality!!! I love how there are no needless sounds, everything sounds so well-writen and of course ABSOLUTELY HEAVY. Keep it up dude🤘🤘🤘
Insane!! What was the original tuning? As i suppose you had to pitch shift, and how does it feel? Since this guitar is 27" scale and im considering getting this one for drop d#1 with no pitch shift
Thanks man! It’s DI guitar and the signal chain is pre-eq, Archetype Nolly using the clean amp with the cabinet turned off, Saturn 2 for crispy top end, EQ and Valhalla Shimmer using black hole preset with 50% mix
Hey dude, this sounds fucking sick! What string gauges are you using & what tuning is the guitar in/was it transposed for the double drop c? (I'm aware it's a multiscale, I use the exact same guitar) :)
Thank you man! It’s between .080 to .013 I think and they’re Ernie ball strings. I’m probably gonna shift to D’addario strings or something else and looking at what’s best for me. I pluck quite hard so I tend to go for heavier strings. Yes it was drop tuned by -5 semitones from drop F. It’s such a great axion label ever produced :)
Thank you! It’s an .080 along with Ernie ball power slinky 7s, just get rid of the .011 string. Guitar nut did needed filing to fit the bigger strings in and had to get a full setup done. :)
@@iamjacktaylor Cool, yeah though you would have had to for the tension on that Guitar. I usually play in G# but want to go to Double Drop C or D or even E 🤟🤟🤟
I just have bigger gauge strings heaviest being .080 and the rest of the strings are ernie ball power slinky, then used my digitech whammy 5 to drop tune by -5 semitones. The cabs they do make a difference, but it's mostly down to what mics and cabs you choose to predict which fits better for the sound you want.
I've used 3 bass tracks that gets a signal from the bass midi, one for DI, second for grit (with saturn 2 and ggd cali cab for the tone) and the 3rd for sub. It's just a way of allowing you more options and better control at getting the perfect tone you want.
What's a double drop C? Like CCFA# D# GC ??? If that's the case, what gauge is the 7th string? probably something huge, close to 68 (otherwise how would you maintain tension)
I assume it would probably be something like normal drop C but tuned a whole octave down by using a pitch shifter, I’d imagine he’d be tuned to something like drop F/Eish so then would go down about 4-5 semitones using a whammy or something
@@tobygreen1565 Yeah using a downtuner to go one full octave down, you'd have to tune in drop C first, then go 12 semitones down, but why thou LMAO you'll be competing with your bass guitar in the spectrum... the point of downtuning a 7 strings is to access low notes but withing reach, otherwise go on an 8 strings. IDK just yappin
My guitar is tuned in Drop F and the biggest string gauge is .080 and I had to get a full setup done after going for a heavier string set. There were road blocks doing that. 1) I had to take off the coating from one end of the string to fit through the tuning peg. 2) the nut had to be filed to flush the big strings in. 3) the bow had to be adjusted because I went for heavier strings giving more tension. 4) the intonation also had to be adjusted to get the correct pitch from the open string to the 12th fret. Very painful process that was; worth it though lol. Pitchshifter was used to downtune using digitech whammy 5 (gonna swap it for a DT this year) and pitched it downward by 5 semitones.
@@Paul-guitarist Oh haha, even I was kidding 😅 It's an extreme style of metal that originated from djent music, and the band Vildjharta started it as a joke. But then popularized years later when bands started doing it.

Picking like that is diabolical. I love it because it shows as long as you’re comfortable as the player, that’s all that matters

Appreciate it man, thank you! 🖤🤘
