Congrats. 3 years ago I helped a fellow get started detecting. A week later he sent me pictures of the second target he dug. 1876 $20 double Eagle gold coin! Sonuvabeech. I hate him. Recently I got a nice mid tone and saw a gold reeded edge of a coin in the hole. Pulled it out and cleaned the sand off and saw the smiling face of Chuck E Cheese. Now I double hate him.
That gold coin was amazing well done only ever found one gold British coin

Excellent job. I am amazed at how so many watched this and so few liked. It's on the edge of unbelievable to find any gold anywhere at anytime but to find a coin spill like that is truly incredible. I've been hunting for over fifty years and although I've found many silver coins never a gold one. The largest piece of gold I found was a 2oz 22k pendent probably worth the same as your coin but I still want the coin.
Ya and you need a little work on your camera and editing but who really gives a flip? You found it and got it on film and that's no bull.

Have you tried metal detecting in the Washington county area ?. Because so far I've tried two of the old coal mine towns in the wash county area and turned up nothing but miners junk from the bishop coal mine.

I'm north of Pittsburgh , what's Allegheny county policy on detecting parks. Would love to detect some whiskey rebellion stuff.
I'm not sure what all the policies are but I've been detecting the parks for about 11 years now and never had an issue. Just be respectful and cut nice plugs and clean up after yourself. Best of luck to you. HH. JOE.

Am glad that your not trying to promote the ekinox 800 like all the people maked seem that metaldetector is the one that found the tresure went all the metal detectors can find those tresures
I actually run all four Minelab machines the Vanquish The Equinox 800 the E trac and the CTX. Every Machine Works different and I have found gold and silver with all of them in the same spots going back over and over again. Best option is to get a machine and spend lots time learning it .do some research on Old properties get permission then find them Treasures. Best of luck. Joe.

There is a lot of good treasure in Pittsburgh. There's some old Civil War training camps in the area as well and there is also rest hospital for Gettysburg Battle veterans. Lot historical finds for sure. You have the Forbes Trail and you have the Braddock Trail. Up near my place there's a lot of cannonballs and Cannons.

Right on i figured you did. By the way great finds and congratulations on both gold coins. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2015 i was an 0326 ( Recon Marine Parachute and Combatant Diver Qualified ) for 22 of my 24 years of honorable service. I served with both 1st and 2nd Force Recon and was also part of Det.1 which eventually became MARSOC. I among many other conflicts served 2 combat deployments to Iraq and 3 to Afghanistan. I struggled after i retired and had my father a Marine Vietnam vet not walked in on me i would have ended my life. He took me to the VA hospital where i was diagnosed with Severe PTSD, Moderate TBI, Treatment Resistant Depression and Substance Abuse Disorder. I'm now 100% disabled and i took up metal detecting as a way to help keep my mind busy with positive thoughts and ideas. It's been such a great therapeutic experience and i absolutely love it. I actually live in Northwestern Pennsylvania just outside of Meadville i saw your channel and thought that was awsome to see the artifacts and coins you have found. Keep up the great work and if you're ever interested i have a few potentially good permissions if you ever want to hook up and go check them out with me.
First Robert I would like to say thank you for your service. Also I would like to say I am glad that you are still with us and you were able to get the help that you needed. I completely understand how therapeutic metal detecting can be, as I have struggled in my life aswell with the fact that my mother took her own life. That put me in a heavy depression and was very hard to get away from it metal detecting was just kind of my calling and it helped me get through. Now I am a single parent and work full time so it's hard to get out and metal detect as often as I would like. I usually get out on Saturdays if I have the time. Sorry I missed your comment. You can dig most local parks around the Pittsburgh area but you have to be sure to be nice and clean about it and put your plugs back nice the way you found it. As long as you do that no one will bother you. Best of luck. JOE.

Do you just walk around or are there specific spots to look for?
The more history a spot has betters ur chances on finding lost goodies. The best places to try to get permission to hunt is where anyone gathered 100 years ago. Old churches, houses, parks ,schools .

No I do not. I've never hunted that area before. If you find any public places to hunt that you're not sure how old it is you can use a website called historic Aerials.com
What is the difference between a silver dime, and a seeded silver dime ?

Gold doesn't tarnish or deteriorate in dirt or salt water. As long as it wasn't being shifted around in gravel to much. It should be just about like it was dropped.

Pittsburgh coin hunting gold & silver almost always come out of the ground looking awesome. More so with gold, but fairly often with silver, too...I wonder why that is ?
