I am definitely late to the party, but can I just say, thank you so much. As a child who hated math, and as a girl who was always told, 'You can't do math', I grew up hating anything with numbers. As an adult, I'm relearning everything in my free time. I often get anxious with 'higher' order math, and these videos have been SUCH a sigh of relief and have (almost) made me cry with math: Only this time, for a good reason, because I feel like the childhood girl inside me is finally not afraid of numbers! Thank you so much! :)
Since everyone is on quarantine and school has switched to online school I have been having a hard time teaching myself math this has helped me for the most part thank you🙂
Thank you so much. It took my math teacher a month to teach this and I still didn't understand it and then you explained it clearly in just 10 minutes.
This literally saved me from having a literal break down in the middle of class cause it’s our 3rd day working on slope and I still didn’t get it and I was to scared to ask my teacher. also I’m in a 7th grade ap class so I’m used to getting math quickly (but I’m also dyslexic)
i have a question sir, what if both rise and run is negative?ex.-15/-11 is this the final answer or i have to move the negative sign beside the fraction bar?
It will work either way as long as you pick one point to be (x1, y1) and the other point to be (x2, y2). Slope is consistent so as long as you pick any two points on a line, it will work out. If you do make point 1 (x1,y1) to the right of point 2 (x2, y2) you might end up with a bunch of negative numbers, but if you resolve them correctly, you'll always get the correct answer no matter what points you choose on a line.
How would I find the steepest slope between equations and graphs? Or How would I know which is is the steepest slope when I’m doing it between the equations or graphs?
Hi Eric, It's the Art teacher standing in for an 8th class that had no proper Math teacher since the beginning of the school year. I feel like they need a review from the beginning of slope. If you have time can you tell me in what order should I arrange your videos for a complete review?
I would start with 'Understanding Slope' th-cam.com/video/ADLoWIxKsyQ/w-d-xo.html Then Slope from Two Points (this lesson) Then Slope from an Equation th-cam.com/video/2iujdS-0nYw/w-d-xo.html This is a good follow up: Graphing a line when given slope and y-intercept th-cam.com/video/8trWFtwyUMU/w-d-xo.html Best of luck!
it equals to 3524 because when that thing it comes to this thing and put it beside that thing that you put it before when i told you that thing in this thing thank you dont clap for me i know that i am the best put like

@Haruka Aoki bro same
I am 25 years old learning Data Science and let me tell you it helped me a lot, Thanks . I will make sure to practice, Practice, practice.
Thank you so much. It took my math teacher a month to teach this and I still didn't understand it and then you explained it clearly in just 10 minutes.
Its been difficult to find an specific video like this one with two given points. Thanks
Fantastic! Glad it was helpful!
@@EricBuffington this video is great
Let’s hope I get a high grade for next week’s exam TvT
(Thank God I found this video)
Edit: we just rechecked last week and I got 53/60!!! 🙏
Good luck on the exam.
Wow!! Great job👏👏

I'm glad I could help! :)
My teacher assigned this video along with some homework and this really helped
So glad it helped! :)
Your teaching styles is excellent. I understand a lot
So glad it's helpful for you! :)
me tooo
i am sooo glad for helping
i have a question sir, what if both rise and run is negative?ex.-15/-11 is this the final answer or i have to move the negative sign beside the fraction bar?
A negative divided by a negative make a positive. So the answer in your example would be 15/11
I'm so happy to finally understanding! Especially because English isn't my native language. I'm so grateful!
Happy to help!
Thankss mann😭❤️....your explanation is better than my math teacher❤️😢
Glad the video had a good explanation. Maybe share it with your teacher?
man best youtube math teacher your teaching is so understandable thanks so much
Glad you think so! This comment made my day! :)
I still don’t understand how do you know which points to put in the
y2 - y1
X2 - X1 ???????
It will work either way as long as you pick one point to be (x1, y1) and the other point to be (x2, y2). Slope is consistent so as long as you pick any two points on a line, it will work out. Eric Buffington Thanks!
Omg….you are making my dyscalculia brain do math!! Thank you 🙏
Glad I could help!
omg you are the best! i have math Final tomorrow and you explained it so easily!!
Glad I could help! Best of luck on the final!
I thank you sir I have been struggling but you explained clearly
You are most welcome

How would I find the steepest slope between equations and graphs?
Or How would I know which is is the steepest slope when I’m doing it between the equations or graphs?
The higher the number the slope, the steeper the line. Here's a video on finding slope from an equation.
th-cam.com/video/8nOl0kBWOdk/w-d-xo.html
Thankyou. Very helpful and good explication. Left a like
Thanks! I appreciate it! :)
thank you so much
This helps since my teach recomendé it
Great explanation....
Thanks!
Thank you very much you kind of helped
Thanks for the comment. :)
But how do you know if you're going to add , subtract , divide or multiply with the slopes ?
Hi Eric, It's the Art teacher standing in for an 8th class that had no proper Math teacher since the beginning of the school year. I feel like they need a review from the beginning of slope. If you have time can you tell me in what order should I arrange your videos for a complete review?

This is a good follow up: Graphing a line when given slope and y-intercept

Best of luck!
Thanks
No problem
you keep saying to ignore the equation in the bottom corner why???
Because some people get confused by having the letters in the equation. If it makes sense for you, definitely use it.
Any chance this video can include closed captioning? Thanks you!
I haven't honestly even looked into making closed captioning for videos. I'm not sure how to do it.
Thank You!!
You are very welcome! :)
thank you a lot i understand how to do slop formtwo point i will help m with i'm test tomorrow
I got a test tomorrow and this really helped! Hopefully i get an A.
Do you know how we find the steepest slope from a table?
steepest slope is the largest number for slope.
Thankyou alot
Glad it helped!
i hate math but thank God ive found this
Thank you, but how do I know if the slope is a negative or positive?
Follow the line from left to right. If it is going up, positive, if it is going down, negative slope
Thank u soooooooooooooooo much
Most welcome 😊
How do you have murch not patron
I understand this now
I love comments like this! Thanks for sharing!

Seriously what nut job came up with all these weird math formulas.
I think it was Mrs. Math. Back in the day she was bored so she just made up formulas.
