Awesome idea using MDF. Love the design of it. We bought 70 acres recently with a 600+ sq ft house and wanted to build a unit around our bed, this was the perfect idea since our bedroom is too small for dressers. Great job guys, thanks 🇨🇦🌷

So many homesteaders I watch really make their closet space SMALL, so maybe they don't keep so many clothes that they can't wear like I do, haha, cause I "might" get back into that size, lol. Great job milling that polar log ! You got nice pieces of mantle there, awesome job on the closets they look great :) 👍When the sun is high in the sky it's really nice to be able to lay them down more for better performance , I put mine on adjustable racking :)
@@wildwoodoffgridalaska Yes amazing the difference between Dec & Jun here , to be straight on in Dec i have my panels just about straight up then the snow falls off too, & by June i can put them down to about 25* I thought you probably have your panels getting sun longer in the evening as you are north west of me,

That is the same system I built in our closet. It is almost creepy how much the same ours is to yours. My hats however are cowboy hats so they take so much more space than the caps you have.

Hey guys, hope you're well. Thanks for the update. Closet looks great, team work got the job done again! Another step closer to a finished home, with plenty of storage in there as well. Looks like you still have plenty of snow on the ground in places. Hope it's not too much longer until you are able to get on with the sawmill shed and get your solar panels properly set up as well. Have you given any more thought to plans for the newer plots of land that you bought yet?
Speaking of earthquakes, this may have been done by now (I’m still catching up on the videos) but I wonder if three earthquake retrofits wouldn’t be very helpful. Reinforce and brace the cripple wall in the basement. Reinforce the anchoring of the house to that wonderful foundation and go down the roof structure with plywood to prevent end to end shearing, in the same direction as the “rat runs”. And that’s just what an untrained person wonders about. If this has been addressed already, my apologies. I just really like what you guys are doing g and want to help.

Ryan , boiled linseed oil . Caution, if using a rag wiping it on .put rag in sealed metal container or put it outside . It can spontaneously combust

We don’t get sun high in the sky like down south. The sun always sits to our south. Optimal angle for us year around is 62 degrees.

Suggestion: Think you should drive in some metal posts to secure the unistruts, i.e. the whole structure to the ground in case of high winds!
We have it tied down with heavy logs at the moment. This is only a temporary setup and will be moved later this year.
