You need to look up a local sawyer/mill near you, or a hardwood dealer at the very least. You are paying 2-3 times as much by buying wood at the local box stores; not to mention the quality of the wood. A 1” x 6” x 8ft select pine is $23.24 at my local Lowes, which is only .22 Board Feet. I can get the same select pine board already surfaced (the same as you bought in Lowes) for $1 a linear foot. For $4.50 a Board Foot, I can get the same S4S Red Oak. Your local hardwood dealer will also usually have better plywood than you can get in any of the big box stores. I happily use the Sande ply for shop furniture, but you wouldn’t believe the difference in ply quality until you use it for furniture. Anyway, hope this helps! Thanks for the content, I thought it came out beautiful!
I agree! This DIY’er is the most legit on the internet. Real mistakes and real frustrations just like the rest of us. The commentary is HILARIOUS, as is the editing. Great teamwork, ladies!👍🏻
Tiffany, this turned out so good!! I had a thought…. Since you’re in FL and it rains more often than not, why don’t you build an awning that runs the length of your entire workshop that is permanently attached to it? That way you can fold it out in those times it’s raining and have some cover overhead and your project won’t get ruined. Then you can tie it back up when not in use. It would give you more working space. Just something to think about… I love your channel!
You have done an exceptionally good job with the bed! You are so knowledgeable and brave that you can do almost anything. Beautiful video :-) Hugs from Sweden :-)
Tiff, love your videos. I purchased my “pallet buster” from a man who makes them on line. Unfortunately, due to my height, 6’1”, it was very uncomfortable to use. I found a welder who was able to increase the length of my bar to make it easier for me. I also had him custom make a new one to deal with the runners that are made out of 4x4’s. One thing I learned to make taking pallets apart easier as well as not destroying the wood is to first take the center of the board out first, then the sides. I destroy less doing it that way than starting from the sides first. Hope that helps. I love your videos. Keep em coming. Want to see more of Toni as well.
Hi! You have built yourself a project from pallets, it must be very beautiful, right? I used free pallets where I live, I made myself some simple projects with handmade tools. I was very happy when I finished.
@ Thank you for having such great content! Plus the editing is superb and funny. Super enjoyable to watch! I’m a family 🏳️🌈 member who owns a mobile home at the North Carolina coast, so seeing you deal with renovations on a manufactured house is of particular interest since the construction has its own set of issues. You have great ideas and are inspiring!
Nice work on the bed! I LOVE it!!! One thing you can do with the slats is to staple a webbing strap all the way down each side and the middle, then you can just screw in the ends. 😉
I've never secured bed slats. The weight of the box spring and mattress hold them perfectly in place🤔could be too that I love moving my furniture around. My husband said he never knew anyone who changed their rooms around as much as I did!😂
WOW! Beautiful!! The both of you make me smile!! I love your videos!! More please.Your sense of humor kills me. In a huge cart is a load of wood with 2 candy bars sitting quietly while she walks up the isle. 🤣😅😂😅😆😅🤣😂🙂
It looks really good! Straight out of a catalogue! For sure you want to secure the slats down, but if you want to make it movable (not having to unscrew every nail everytime) you should attach them all with a fabric strip and use 4 cleats at the 4 corners of the frame to hook the top and bottom slats taught, to secure the planks. Look up ikea bed slats and I think you will see what I mean. Great job all around!!!
Great job. I think it’s terrific that you show how much detail work, measuring, and math is involved. These projects are not easy, even though TV shows make it look that way.
Thank you! And yes a lot of media skips over these details making DIY a fantasy when in reality this is the process and we just gotta learn to love the process too ☺️
Wow, Wow, WOW!!!! That is beautiful and you did so good! You should be proud of yourself Lady!!! I admire your courage to try new things and your talents! Can't wait for the next steps and to see the whole room completed! GREAT JOB TIFF!!!!
I can’t remember where I saw this or I would link the video but I saw someone buy ratchet straps (cheap) and staple the slats together so they don’t move out of place. Great video. Love watching you, Toni, Misty and now Indy!
I'm speechless. Well almost... Not sure how you do it, but you do. When I calculate measurements, it starts off making sense, then it doesn't. A total blank. I can't even remember what I was thinking. I was pretty good in art, but math is a different ball game. Glad you have upcoming projects. I enjoy watching you guys and like your sense of sense of humour. See ya soon! p.s. I searched for the disappearing *_puritan pine_* and found a quart at a home depot. Grab watchu can. Maybe wholesale👍
i love that you're giving these pallets a second chance, I'll be honest the only time I've seen these pallets ever in use has been old 70's action movies where the bad guy gets grabbed up by the hero and slammed through five of these like they were nothing. OR a poor guy is trying to carry a stack of them and each one has something super fragile and people are either bot watching where they're going and the guy ends up loosing his grip and all those fragile items are destroyed.. But in real life i just see them decaying behind a gas station near the public restroom or supporting a bunch of unpacked planted sprouts in the green gardening area of a walmart or other store getting moldy from the oozing water from the wet planting soil. The end result was super awesome I love the headboard! I hope we see more Pallet projects and I was just thinking... if ever you get into trying molt projects where you melt metals and stuff into I think they call it molton lava or something.. You can save the old nails melt them down and make cool things with them. An example would be if you can't find the exact type of handle design you can create a mold and pour the melted nails into it and they'll become something just as beautiful. that'll remain apart of the pallets but instead of nails they drawer handles or something.
Hi! You have built yourself a project from pallets, it must be very beautiful, right? I used free pallets where I live, I made myself some very simple projects with manual tools. I was very happy when I finished, I used completely old nails, no electrical equipment.
Great job Tiff 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Pls either nail/screw the slats in place or nail spacers between each of the slats so that they’ll slot into place. While the mattress does weigh quite a bit, anytime someone moves on it, the slats underneath move slightly & over time that results in uneven pressure being put on some of the boards causing cracking or breaks.
I like that you acknowledge AND own your mistakes - it is how we learn. Bed turned out great. I enjoy your work... next project, to extend your shed/workshop so you don't have to take work outside to cut/assemble (and counter for thicknesser)? I look forward to the under bed storage draws and matching bedside stands... ;-) Congratulations (from Australia).
I admire your determination and perseverance with all your projects, you’re very talented and especially enjoy watching the interactions with your Dad and Toni also the humour and editing, let’s not forget Misty!! All the best from Australia! 😊
I have been patiently waiting for this video, and of course it did not disappoint! Fantastic job Tiff, the guest bedroom is looking amazing. Can't wait to see what you have in store for the flooring! ❤
Tiff, I must say I really enjoy watching you make things, and you do not edit out the bloopers and the funny parts like the bug attecking you The bed looks fantastic, and you will need to somehow keep the slats from moving. I can't wait to see the next project
You did a great job Tiff! 🍻 Your videos are a refreshing break from the sh*tshow we're being forced to live through. You and Toni keep it up, you're amazing! 🤗
I built a firepit table with pallet wood and used that Air Locker gun....game changer! Your perseverance is stellar Tiff! The end prize is worth it! Great job! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I’ve seen someone else who builds with pallet wood use a saws-all to take apart the pallets. They just cut through the nails between the slats and the inner braces and then removed the nail heads where they didn’t just fall out on their own. I haven’t tried it myself, but it looks a lot easier than prying the boards apart. Love what you’re doing! Too many DIYers only show the successes and not how things work or don’t in real life. Thank you for showing your entire journey on your projects.
It’s beautiful!!! And to think you started out with that yucky pallet wood. The transformation is amazing. You are capable of making anything Tiff. Btw- so happy you are getting rid of the carpet!!!!🎉
Glad I'm not the only one contemplating the construction of something while watching a show😂😂 The bed looks beautiful! But I would secure the ends of the slats because the mattress moves a lot at the edges due to sitting down and turning to lay down and in reverse❤
I loved your reaction the first time you tried your new nail remover tool! That was great 😊 The bed turned out absolutely amazing!!!!!!! Great job Tiff 😊 That was a lot of work, but well worth it! Can’t wait for your Dad to see it!!!
Tiff made that air locker look like so much fun, I want to buy one and get some pallets just to remove nails, not to build anything. 😂😂😂😂 The shop sign is looking Goo-ood! ❤ I’m so glad your bed is safe for hiding from bad guys during the zombie apocalypse! This bed is amazing!! ❤❤❤❤
I got a free month! Thank you!! I love this channel so much! You are so funny, and Tina is adorable and you are so funny together!! Thank you for your enjoyable, entertaining and beautiful content! Everything you create comes out amazing!!❤❤❤
I am amazed of how you are so precise and question yoursrlf. I mean have you seen your beautiful bed frame you created. Skillz !!! The power of a woman. ❤ you go with your bad self !.
That looks amazing! Well done Tiff! I was in hysterics when you were cutting a straight edge on the wood. I've used that tape before, I used it on a router template and could I get the thing apart after I cut it?! No! 😂. Eh, it's all good fun, i guess! The bed looks amazing! Cracked up again when Toni was surprised that the mattress fit at the end 😅😂
the beautiful thing about free pallets... the last two I broke down for projects... 1 was all oak and the other was all poplar except for the bottom slats, they were cherry.
TIFF YOU ARE A BADDIE GIRL💪🏼 I LOVE HOW YOU NEVER GIVE UP YOU ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO GET YOUR PROJECTS DONE & DONE THE RIGHT WAY YOU DON'T HALF ASS NOTHING ALL YOUR PROJECTS ARE AMAZING!! LOVE ALL THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR & I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU DO NEXT!! GREAT JOB GIRLY👏👏👏👏
I’m new to your channel but your DIYs are fantastic and educational and the editing wow Toni ( hope i spelled her name right) does an outstanding job. A lot of work I know. 👍💞
Hi Tiff. Love your videos you always make me laugh. Just a quick tip. Instead of hot glue or double sided tape for the sled why not get some toggle clamps. Just screw 2 of them to the sled then you can quickly clamp and release each piece. Keep up the great work.
Your channel is now my favorite!! I've binged all your episodes so please keep them coming!! Have you showed your dad the new workshop yet? Would love to see his reaction.
You deserve more subscribers than you have. I love your “learning” during your builds. You are inspirational, giving all of us who want to learn something new permission to make mistakes and have the courage to fix them!
Looks great. Using thicker would have incresed the stability of the corner joints and hardware as the screws would have more wood to hold on to. I would have made the boards at least one inch thick and then just used a 4x4 for the slars to sit on. If it's just for the guest room and not used for um let's call it "bedroom sports" i'm sure it's going to last. ;) I would definetely secure the slats as they're going to move when you move in your sleep. nothing more annoying to fall into a gap in the middle of the night and then having to fix the bed while being drowsy. Best way to fix the slats is to staple them to two 1 inch webbing straps and then screwing the top and bottom slat to the frame. This way it's easy to disassemble and move. Just remove 4 screws and roll up the slats. you could also use 4 loose fitting wooden dowels to keep the two end slats in place. Then disassembly for cleaning underneath the bed is even easier.
Great job! Put on the sheets & see if it’s an issue with the slats. Then you’ll know if you need to do anything. You survived a lot with this one: bug attack, hot nails, fickle weather patterns, & Toni’s hilarious off-color comedy! Always a delight! The bed really turned out beautiful! 🦋
This looks great! The only thing I would have done differently is recessed or notched the slats into the sides and middle support. That would prevent them from moving and would still be easy to take out. Would it have created more work? Sure. But in the end I think it would actually be preferable. For me. Regardless, this looks awesome, especially that head board! 👍👍
I used free pallets where I live, I made myself some simple projects with hand tools. I was so happy when I finished, I used completely old nails, no electrical equipment. Thank you for the detailed instructions, your project is awesome, congratulations!

Simply gorgeous! Great job. 🙂
With the pallet buster, you need to pry the two edges and then the middle. This way the wood doesn't fly up and nails get partially stuck at the edge.
Oh, it turned out beautiful! I had that pattern done on a wall in my years ago (different house) and I just loved it. Fabulous job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

You and your friend are awesome. Thank you for sharing your work and your craft.
You KILL me!!!!! 😂
I’ve never laughed so hard on the journey to being completely impressed with the outcome. You’re the BEST!!! 😂😂😂😂
You are quite the trooper, I love your determination and will power, you do amazing work, god bless! ❤️
Thank you! And haha it’s happened too many times before when I make something that doesn’t fit 😂
What a great day to be alive ❤
Your too funny. Hope you never have to hide from zombies. Lol
Great job Tiff. !!💕
Thank you! 🤗 I hope I never have to hide from them either haha
the beautiful thing about free pallets... the last two I broke down for projects... 1 was all oak and the other was all poplar except for the bottom slats, they were cherry.
I hope I get lucky one day and get a pallet out of hardwood ❤️
Great job! I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos and am impressed by your work. Well done, from 🇨🇦.
Thank you very much!

Thanks so much! 😊 and yes Toni is correct :)
This is absolutely stunning Tiff - right up my street !! love it
Wow! You did a phenomenal job and it's gorgeous! I hope u do a light stain because it looks so pretty now.
Hi Tiff. Love your videos you always make me laugh. Just a quick tip. Instead of hot glue or double sided tape for the sled why not get some toggle clamps. Just screw 2 of them to the sled then you can quickly clamp and release each piece. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the tip!
Your channel is now my favorite!! I've binged all your episodes so please keep them coming!! Have you showed your dad the new workshop yet? Would love to see his reaction.
Thank you! I’ve sent him pictures he is impressed he hasn’t seen it in person yet but he’ll probably come visit within a couple of months
Probably the most underrated TH-camr out here. So many perks to this channel I love it!!
Tiff, this bed is gorgeous! Good job!!!
You deserve more subscribers than you have. I love your “learning” during your builds. You are inspirational, giving all of us who want to learn something new permission to make mistakes and have the courage to fix them!
Awesome job young lady, well done xx
Tiff, your bed is gorgeous!
Looks great. Using thicker would have incresed the stability of the corner joints and hardware as the screws would have more wood to hold on to. I would have made the boards at least one inch thick and then just used a 4x4 for the slars to sit on. If it's just for the guest room and not used for um let's call it "bedroom sports" i'm sure it's going to last. ;)
I would definetely secure the slats as they're going to move when you move in your sleep. nothing more annoying to fall into a gap in the middle of the night and then having to fix the bed while being drowsy.
Looks fantastic. I'm super impressed.
Beautiful bed! This was a great video ❤ Can’t wait for the next phase.
I used free pallets where I live, I made myself some simple projects with hand tools. I was so happy when I finished, I used completely old nails, no electrical equipment. Thank you for the detailed instructions, your project is awesome, congratulations!
I use a zaw saw with long blade cut nails off
Tiff does it again :) you have to be extremely proud of that headboard and bed. 10/10
Beautiful!!! Yet another great project and video.
