Honestly, I haven't really been okay lately. I've had a little bit of some depression, endless thoughts and questions that I can't even come to answer. Realizing that I couldn't talk to anyone has had me feeling lost and quite alone. But I'm really thankful to Geoff for this song. I haven't really heard it in a very long time but it sure did make me feel hopeful with some positivity in me that I haven't had in a while.

I went through a very dark time recently too. It was intense therapy that eventually got me out of it, but... Before therapy, it was Geoff that got me through it with his cover of Blackbird.

I hope n pray you will find more things that help you. I find music helpful too. that and stand up comedy.

For those of us who have lost one or more of our parents and have memories of listening to this song with them or having one of them singing this to them as kids. Or even as an adult such as after a really bad nightmare.
And hearing Geoff reminds me of my dad for whom passed this year on February 1st. Which I have mentioned on some of his previous videos. And because of my loss and the grieving I have my been doing these past months while listening I was crying again. Geoff rather close in sound to my dad. So I have at least someone to listen to in my dad moments that bring back good memories even though it reminds me of loss. I do hope that he sings to his boy for comfort when he needs it. And his wife is hearing impaired just as my mother was. And I lost mom 8 years ago. And I am sure with what hearing my mom did my have she would have enjoyed listening to him. And both my mom and his wife used hearing aids. Even though I feel his wife's hearing was even worse than my mother. And I know hearing aids have improved over these past years. Heck even my paternal grandfather was hearing impaired. And they were not like they are now. He passed in my junior of high school and I was crying a lot back then because of the bond I had with him and my teacher knew. Along with my school mates and this knew to be ready for when something would set me off crying. To give the comfort I needed.

Imagine, a day not far away, where hearts heal and music bridges sorrows. Thank you for this. It's a video I didn't know I needed. Ranging from the tender singing to the beautiful composition. Forgive my flowery text, but my heart is lighter for hearing it, and my soul more free.
I love the way he sings. Makes me feel so tranquil and peaceful.
When this song first came out, I cried even though I was more a Paul McCartney girl. Years later, this version didn't make me cry, it made me sob.
Talking about Paul McCarthy, in the week, they played "Ebony and Ivory" with him and Stevie Wonder. When they started singing, I started bawling my eyes out, and I don't know why.
This song only makes my eyes a little watery.
Catchy melody, it sounds nice but much like a lot of modern pop the lyrics are impossible for me to ignore. The idea that imagining away all the things that make us human-our beliefs, our ambitions, our differences-would somehow lead to utopia is not just naive, but dangerously simplistic. Imagine promotes a hollow vision of peace, asking listeners to surrender their individuality and identity for a vague, undefined notion of global unity. In the end, the song is more a product of wishful thinking than any profound understanding of the world’s complexities, making it a surprisingly superficial anthem for such an important topic.

Geoff, this is so unbelievably moving and beautiful. I know I say every time that you've out-done yourself with your latest arrangement, and it's always true, but I feel like this one especially is just a new level. Still mostly Black, white and grey but contrasts so well against your “Wicked Game” video. Feels so hopeful, especially in comparison.

Okay, this has just joined Sam's acoustic version and PTX as my fave renditions and most heartfelt. i love Sam's for the simplicity and feeling, but Geoff's and PTX show that even more complex arrangements can be seriously affecting when sung from the heart.

He really does make these songs his own , such a great version to listen to , always astounds me his vocal range and always look forward to his next song another one for my playlist that I listen to when I’m at work , I don’t normally comment on videos , I prefer to just listen.
