What greater news then to know you and your loved ones are all saved, Jesus loves us and wants us to celebrate life, nothing brings more joy than spreading it to those most in need.
Just recently started to have this revelation. When I first came to Christ I was led to believe that 24/7 365 life should be you denying pleasure and working. Absolutely we have our responsibilities and can't indulge in sin but we still need to take time to enjoy ourselves and our lives through hobbies or whatever activities you enjoy. Life has been great for me recently because of this revelation Praise God!
I hate the Christian church for how much they have minimized this element. I'm expected as a man to: -work a job to provide or own a business that I work to provide - give my time, money, and efforts towards Church (not the poor who need it such as soup kitchens, fmsc, or anything to help the needy "the poor you will always have with you" must be the motto at the Churches who seem to care more about the Church walls and what goes on inside them - you're gonna tell me that the Bible we base our teachings in the Church off is very heavily on Jewish cultural influence which has a festival for pretty near everything imaginable doesn't translate into Christian culture? Secular world had to take away Christmas parties due to the HR debauchery
- for volunteering, hey give your time and efforts but we now what you regularly on rotation, can't be one and done. - If you need to go to Celebrate Recovery as part of restoration for your soul in your Walk with God "carrying your cross" or "working out your salvation with fear and trembling" (meaning adopting a mindset of servant hood as Christ did in serving the Kingdom) then they expect you to volunteer as part of that recovery as well. So now I'm competing with two different volunteering aspects inside the Church itself and considered questionable where my time goes if I'm giving so much to the church and getting so little discipleship in return (sorry a generic sermon does not drill into what I individually need each week) - Fun is not a church thing as they handed off the dating world to Satan for all intents and purposes (oh they'll come back after college rather than diligently teaching them prior seems to be the mindset) - Church recites Bible at most, but I feel does not economically profit to build you into what the Bible discusses. Cool, you read some convicting verses. Still my job to live it out, get the counseling, implement this with my free will, talk with God with where I am at and where I need to course correct (that is called agency which God gave us) but I feel like the Church is acting Holier than thou these days and it's honestly a pathetic posture - Christ isn't coming back because the Big Church at large is doing such a bang up job
