Need the video to have a "but can we fix it" extension. would be good for people with older systems like this one boost their performance by following along?
For $300 it ain't bad, but I'd definitely upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1050 4GB (which I still have laying around in case my GTX 1060 6GB dies on me) or better.
It's nice to see a video with these specs so potential buyers who may be new to PC gaming can get an idea of what to expect if they were to buy it. Thanks guys.
A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a very inexpensive system, that could maybe do some gaming. I was close to going the "old Optiplex with a graphics card" route. I came across an iBuyPower Element Mini 9300 for $220 BIN, after tax and shipping it was still only about $270. Similar specs to this, A320, RX 550 2GB GDDR5, but only 8GB of DDR4, and a Ryzen 3 3100. It actually runs well. Turns out it was an Amazon return in new condition with "broken headphone jack and broken fan". Before power on, I checked it out well (as I would any new PC), the front HD Audio connector was not plugged in, and the fan was spinning, but no ARGB, another loose connector at the hub.
Not selling anything, just sharing an experience that indicates paying $700 for the PC in the OP may not be a great move. Seriously, I am not selling anything at all, and have no plan to.
I got this same pc a couple months ago and upgraded: I love it!! Ryzen 5 5500 $119 Rx 6600 8gb $229 Evga 450w psu $29 2x8 ram t-create $39 All Amazon brand new
I mean, for 300 dollars new it's not terrible. Like most other things, you get what you pay for. This would be good for a everyday use computer or for kids to play minecraft on.
Attn/fyi editor I have posted this before in another video… the music that plays while they are playing games is way too loud because I can’t hear what they are saying, and it’s also way too loud in other parts of the video as well.
Personally, I would lock most games in 40 frames per second maybe 50 but at the same time I wouldn’t plan on playing mostly online games so it may run better with off-line focused games

I’ve experienced with one these rigs. It was terrible. The motherboard was extremely old, couldn’t stream, download or sometimes call without the pc removing the Wi-Fi adapter. I think it was because the power supply.
In modern titles (even Fortnite) you would need 16 GB RAM and dual channel if you plan to use Win 10 bloatware. In some of the titles released for PS4 (Witcher 3 comes to mind) you would probably get away with 8 GB single stick in 1080p low (possibly even med) . Of course, as everyone says, both RAM and CPU should be upgraded .
I mean... considering that you can literally get a Ryzen 5 4500 for just 50$ more - or a 5500 for 70$ more - this is actually a bit dumb. You could basically give the buyer a MUCH more capable machine and still be very cheap.

Yea, waste of money for anyone else. I wouldn't buy any gaming PC for less than $2500.00 minimum if you want to play triple A title games with decent frames and quality.
I recently built a budget PC: the final build cost $363 (Craigslist parts). The original budget was $350, and the initial completed build cost $333, but I upgraded the Zalman Max CPU cooler included with the $150 CPU/board/RAM combo to improve thermal performance given the antiquated case design. I opted for a used Noctua NH-U14s I picked up for an extra $30 instead . Since then, it's been much cooler and quieter, even for long durations of heavy workload. Entire build --- Lian Li PC-61B Aluminum case, Asus Z87 Pro board, 4770k, 16GB G-Skill 2133 DDR3, EVGA 980 Ti SC2, WD Blue 500GB SATA SSD, all powered by a 750W Ultra Computing X4 (80+ Bronze) modular PSU. If benchmarks are to be believed, this system somehow managed to beat a Ryzen 5 3600/ RTX 2080 Ti build by 2 points.
Not really. Adding one more stick of RAM is trivial, but buying another CPU would mean wasting money on this one. Look for deals with at least Ryzen 3 1200. P.S. With another stick of RAM games released originally for PS4 would run somewhat good at 1080p low. Or you could try installing Win 7 to save on RAM usage by OS.
@@jamesmarak3393 Well, not exactly. 2400G (i.e Vega 11) is slower than RX 550. CPU is of course better than Athlon 950. But, many games that RX550 could actually run at 1080p low, are not so much CPU dependent (early to mid PS4 era) .
Cpu and gpu are hot garbage. Just buy the Motherboard,($60)case ($35) power supply ($40) SSD ($50 )yourself save the rest of the money for the stuff you want if you are already comfortable switching out parts build it yourself
