I LOVE how he looks out the blinds like he's in a tower and he is looking down on the world like some kind of CEO movie villain caricature but really he's just on a one floor rental space. Writing is so good on this show. It rewards with several watches.

him sitting up in bed smoking AS the alarm goes off (implying he didn’t sleep or had a rough night trying to sleep) is exactly the situation i’ve been in more often than i can count. when you feel completely unrested by the time you have to get up for work and you are just staring off into space regretting your entire life leading to that moment of having to get up out of bed. it’s painfully real
Perfectly describes several small business owners i've worked for. Impotent enough to be stressed out and generally unsuccessful like a wagie, but still outranking you socially. You know they aren't cut out for being a business owner emotionally or in their skillset but they cling on in desperate anxiety and frustration because they don't ever want to become some other asshole's employee. I swear i've been in the exact situation the secretary was in when I had to tell my boss how we we're gonna get screwed by OSHA. I could feel my next check getting "lost" in the mail as he said he can find a way to deal with it in an inflection of malice.
