Dear Dave, the great part of India is that you as a foreigner can enter the poorest part of a major city and not get robbed or killed. You and your partner were safe in a slum in a far away land. Now try going to the poorest part of New York City or the poorest part of Los Angeles or the poorest part of Johannesburg or the poorest part of any major city in the world, I can guarantee that something bad would have happened to you and your partner. What you got in Dharavi was love and not death and that my dear friend is what makes India great. With love and best wishes from South Africa.
To all my fellow Indians being hurt because they went to slum and recorded it, I would say why not? Let's stop being hypocrites and acknowledge that places like these are an integral part of India and kudos to these tourists for going to every nook and cranny and actually showing how people live in slums. I dont see anything wrong, just hardworking people doing their job and living life. Thankyou for showing it how it is❤❤
I really appreciate your comment! Our goal is never to put a country down. In fact, it is the opposite and this slum has nothing shameful about it. The people, the hard work and sens of community is something we had ever seen elsewhere.

Dharavi is such an interesting place and should not be avoided. :) For the food, we just eat a lot of street food all around the world so we have steal stomachs now. Haha
They have to live there because rents in Mumbai are sky high. That area is going to get redevelopment in the next few years and so maybe all of these people will be relocated somewhere else.
Appreciate one thing, in India the slum has very low crime rates when compared to western countries. In fact some slums will have crime rates are the same as the rest of the city.
Which country or city would like to show their slum as tourist spot but mumbai do. You know why, because people here are hard working they turn trouble into opportunity. Whatever their economic condition might be they are hospitable. Atithi devo bhav - guest is god.
Canada's 🇨🇦 Vancouver slums giving competition to India's dharavi but still... India has no critical drug issues... India has less straving rate in slums compare to Vancouver slums😅
*Slum town* .... I think we need it... Government is hell bent on redevelopment, but it will loose the soul that dharavi has... Give it time, it will fixzle on its own....
All that we see , is not because they are poor; people in rural area of India make substantially less money than people in this slum, but the biggest fault is the government's inability to provide better infrastructure, sanitation and manage the population expansion.otherwise they are not that poor,if government just properly plan this place, divide it into residential, commercial, industrial area and just take care of the infrastructure, this will be a good place.
We always wish for better condition of the people. And from our perspective, infrastructure aside, these people have a better sense of community and than anywhere else we has ever seem. Just simple and genuine food people.

White T shirt tight jeans hair all out wearing gold necklace. Blending in is the order of the day.
You’re right, I could have blended in better 😂
I am really ashamed to know that India we have Asia's largest slaughter house... 😢😢I wish Indian people get more & more nature friendly & animal loving
I personally did not know either before visiting Dharavi,
@@DaveMani there is the highest use of cow products like milk, ghee etc in vegetarian diet due to the influence & teachings of lord Krishna... By product of that is pressure of more produce, mistreatment of cows for increasing demand for such a huge population, the male counterparts directly goes for butchering after their reproduction function is over... Also make child born is also goes for kill .. India is the largest exporter of cow meat too, & when I say that, I feel so ashamed.. except a bunch of people, all other population is unaware of such hidden cruelty.. I wish & pray for positive change soon..
Everyone can't have same ideology like you ok. What i hate is vegetarian like you compelling others also needs to be vegetarian like you. If you are vegetarian better keep it up within yourself.
We should try to preserve our great indian slum heritage🎉🎉
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Sry to say it's aisa's largest slum pls change this thumnail
Its actually considered the world's largest slum according to multiple sources.
I always wonder how but this informal places generate a lot of money.
Yes, tons of money!

I’m reading a book about AI and it literally takes place in India and basically how the AI insurance was telling the girl to stay away from Dharvi, even tho tourists visits but never stays. That’s how I found your video because I was curries to know what it looks like there. Thank you for sharing. I just have one question, how can you eat the found without getting ill??
Dharavi is such an interesting place and should not be avoided. :)
For the food, we just eat a lot of street food all around the world so we have steal stomachs now. Haha
They have to live there because rents in Mumbai are sky high. That area is going to get redevelopment in the next few years and so maybe all of these people will be relocated somewhere else.
I did hear about that yes.
Appreciate one thing, in India the slum has very low crime rates when compared to western countries. In fact some slums will have crime rates are the same as the rest of the city.
100% That slum was fully functioning, filled with hard working people.
Which one from Dharavi Or Skid Row California?
Dharavi is 100% better!!!
@@DaveMani those who are staying in none of the two and have better place to live should be grateful to God.
Looks like California without the drug use and people in india actually work
Slums in India are for sure better than North America!
U r so lucky guys went to dharavi... We don't have time to visit also but u guys r doing awesome work. Come to pune
Next time!
you look like mark wood, the fast bowler from england.
Oh really! :p
Nice 👍 🔥💯👌🏽
Thanks 🔥
Which country or city would like to show their slum as tourist spot but mumbai do. You know why, because people here are hard working they turn trouble into opportunity. Whatever their economic condition might be they are hospitable. Atithi devo bhav - guest is god.
People from Dharavi are for sure remarkable!
❤
:)
Come to Kolkata, the city of joy 🎉
Next time
Canada's 🇨🇦 Vancouver slums giving competition to India's dharavi but still... India has no critical drug issues... India has less straving rate in slums compare to Vancouver slums😅
North American slums are WAY worst than Indian's!
I was told dharavi will to develop soon by Adani.?what happen.?
I'm not sure. There is lots going on.
It will take more than 10yrs. There are more than 80lakhs people living in dharavi Govt have to do something for them first.
You guys go and watch IPL matches...
IPL is the biggest cricket league in the world, you guys must watch one match of IPL
IPL?
Indian premier league (IPL)
IPL is a cricket game played in India...
*Slum town* .... I think we need it... Government is hell bent on redevelopment, but it will loose the soul that dharavi has... Give it time, it will fixzle on its own....
From what I saw, Dharavi is already thriving. All the best to this amazing community!
Just for some views, you guys are making a mockery of someone's circumstances... Shame on you..
That is the exact opposite of what we want.
Oh so Krishna speaks Kannda also getting wedding invitation
Yes :)
7:22 these guys love photobombing tho 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love it hahaha
All that we see , is not because they are poor; people in rural area of India make substantially less money than people in this slum, but the biggest fault is the government's inability to provide better infrastructure, sanitation and manage the population expansion.otherwise they are not that poor,if government just properly plan this place, divide it into residential, commercial, industrial area and just take care of the infrastructure, this will be a good place.
We always wish for better condition of the people. And from our perspective, infrastructure aside, these people have a better sense of community and than anywhere else we has ever seem. Just simple and genuine food people.
Big up 💯
Thank you Derek :)
The total annual turnover has been estimated at over US$1 billion.
That is remarkable! :)
India looks like the next China in the next few years to come, nice Vlog.
It really is!
Also the Govt is re-developing Dharavi and in next 15 years you won't find any slum here

Buying a small slum in dharavi can make u billionaires when it's redeveloped
Fair enough.
Much better than Philadelpia..
Never been haha
😂🤣
Please make video on USA slum area.
There are 28000 cases of people doing poop on roads in 2018.
People living on streets.
I visited New York, it was so stinky.
Single room cost 65k , where as here you can get @ 300 here.
Even tho I would love to, it is way to dangerous. This slum is Indian has a story, the people are great and hard working and it is nothing to be a shamed of compared to the USA.
Habibi Come to the Dharavi!! 😂😂😂
We loved it :)
