the major flaw with this design is that you can only get one load of laundry done at a time. a normal washer/dryer separate units you can transfer your wet clothes to the dryer and start the next wash load while the first load gets dry. so basically you need to buy two of these things to get the same speed as you were getting before and that is costly for anyone not in the 1% tax bracket.
I mean for a big family I could see this being an issue. Normal people should not have this issue unless they are running their machines non-stop. I rarely do more than 1 load at a time and then I have to remember to switch it over. I'd rather have something I can set and forget and come back to a completed load.
I had the future of laundry about 15 years ago with a combo washer dryer single unit that was imported, and very common, in Europe. We got it because we had limited space in an apartment. Much like heat pumps, we are behind the times.
Great addition, thanks for sharing. It’s amazing how resistant to change most people are …it takes decades and usually generations to make any real change.
My LG drive train went out 6 months after the warranty expired, making the exact noise yours makes, plus leaks, plus rotten egg smell. Cause: Zinc die-cast spider exposed directly to wash water, soaps, and detergents caused severe zinc chemical errosion on spider arms and at bearing seals, resulting in water infiltration to "sealed" bearings, which are not really sealed. Thus, leanks and bearing failures. Purchased new spider, seals, and bearings. Light surface acid etched the spider. Sprayed spider with etching primer, then a good enamel. (Would have powder coated. But she who must be obeyed said NO to using the kitchen oven to cure the powder coat.) Reassembled exactly following instructions. Working fine for 10 years; 4 years longer than the first time. But, i expect failure in the next year and to repeat the process.
Interesting! I did not even know these types of units were a thing. I watched some other reviews that mentioned drying/lint buildup problems. Did you encounter any of those issues?
I pick the lint off and throw it away the rinse is for the small particles in the screen and foam filter. I could have explained that better but good call out.
Do you have to clean that lint filter every time you do a wash? If so, that’s a BIG negative for me. Cleaning a traditional dryer lint filter takes two minutes. This is way to complicated an no one is going to do it every load. 👎
No offence but this is a really useless video about the product. It’s been out long enough that many people have questions about its inherent vulnerability regarding lint, among other things. Your video really is no better than an advertisement.
@ That’s true of course! On the other hand it is an attempt to at least acknowledge that the other person has indeed put some effort in the post, despite its wrongheadedness :)
front loads suck so bad at actually cleaning true dirty clothes. If you have a big family one of these combo machines will go every single day. You cant do multiple loads because its like a Tesla, you are always waiting to use it. We wasn't told that a true cleaning and drying cycle takes forever to complete. Im not talking about a rinse cycle that wont take out a ketchup stain.
Every single day?? There's no need to wash clothes everytime you wear them unless you've sweated a lot. Underwear yes. Otherwise you are just being wasteful, causing your clothes to wear out prematurely, and needing to replace appliances often. Typical American wastefulness.

But the plus is you can put a load in, go to work, and when you get home it is done, washed and dried. It is all in how you look at it.

In real world use, we haven’t noticed a difference. It’s fine for our family of 4.

That is a great fix, you are very industrious. It’s a shame that the boss thinks the oven is only for cooking.

No problems with lint. The key is to pull the lint off the filter every use and vacuum or rinse every couple of uses.
Wow, that's awesome! Looking for a new washer and dryer so I have a question. What happens when you wash clothes that say line dry only? Thanks
Great question, you can select wash and dry or wash only. If select wash only, it will stop after the wash just like a conventional washing machine.
Seems needlessly complex and thus expensive and prone to a short life.
That is a fair perspective, we will see how long it lasts.
Don’t wash lint down your drains. Just pull it off or vacuum it off and throw in the trash.

Softeners destroy machines. You should know that. I have this machine. Enjoy all the maintenance and still have it break down.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll be sure to incorporate that in a future video.

You have to pick the lint off every load and rinse or vacuum every two weeks or so…obviously depends on how many loads you dry.
More energy efficient everything yet the overall carbon footprint increases year over year.
I’m always amazed at the amount of people flying around the world.
I let the sun dry my washing 95% of the time.
That’s awesome. Ours will freeze outside 🥶 5 months of the year.
The only one of these I have used was junk.
That’s unfortunate, care to provide any reasons why?

I always love comments that start with, no offense. 🤣

There is a trade off for using less water but they are fine for most people.
