    A fragrance for this one needs to be reminiscent of an autumnal camping trip. Fresh air, trees, a whiff of campfire smoke. This turned out beautiful.

    Love the ingredients together, use them all the time and this would call for an E.O. blend rather than a fragrance oil. In my opinion. Lovely soap.

    It’s really nice to see you uploading videos again! I got to say, it’s really inspiriting seeing how far you’ve come, from your first CP video up until now. You’ve definitely mastered the craft. 💕 Your videos have motivated me to start soap making as well. (:
    On another note, this soap is super lovely! They remind me of tiger stripes! Especially the tops! 😍 I’m thinking maybe some sort of masculine fragrance would work well with these.

    Dean, I don't have Cocoa butter and only have one mold so I have to cut the recipe in half - could I replace the resultant 40g of Cocoa butter with Shea butter? (though I love the stuff I can't get it until I place my next order)

    Hello in which oil did you dissolve the charcoal, turmeric, and the T.D?

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both Charcoal and Turmeric in oils and TD in water. But some supplies sell TD to be dissolved in oils, rather than water.

      @@DeanWilson its ok if i use glicerine to dissolve the 3?

    Wish I could make cold press soap. But it always looks so daunting also the use of lye is a bit intimidating 😨 Again welcome back! 👍

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the same thing but if you wear gloves and eye protection and you cover your arms with long sleave shirts you will be fine. I had a lye burn on my gloves and the pain was so bad but I ran it under cold running water for 5-10 minutes and the pain went away. Sure it can be daunting but its the only way to make CP soap. Just be careful for yourself and dont soap around pets or kids..

    • @marianela111
      @marianela111 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DeanWilson I was diagnosed with lung cancer last year ( as a none smoker big surprise 😳) I think lye also creates some sort of fumes. So I have to be careful. Or invest in a bio hazard suit 😝 Or live vicariously through artesians like you🤗 However I've been having loads of fun with M&P I've come up with some funky looking soaps lately 😀 thank you for all you do and the inspiration you give.🌻

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that. Yes, you need to be careful. Lye creates some seriously bad fumes and extremely hot 200 f degree when you add it to water. I wear a mask and usually make my lye the night before. But my mother has asthma and the fumes really effect her which is another reason why I stopped making CP soap here.

    Also, may I ask why the 25% water discount? Did you mix the colorants w/ oil or water?

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find when I use a 30% or higher it takes forever to cure and its also a softer soap. 25% is my goto for a solid bar of soap.

    What is the liquid you’re pouring the water in?

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The water is a combo of water and caustic soda. Then poured into the oils to blend to make soap.
