I built my Temp-cast heater 14 years ago, works great! Yes dry stacking is a good idea. I have see a couple built by professional masons who thought they knew what they were doing and made mistakes. Dead easy to build if you follow the instructions.
I would appreciate if you could provide the throat opening dimension (as it enters the black oven). Also, what is the recommended chimney cross section area?
I bet that someone from China has this kit too right now...and they will make some updates or small modifiers to it.. and call it their own :) Then ship it back to USA on a smaller price.
Thank you for taking the time to post a dry stack demo of the masonry heater build. I hope to add this to our new home in the future. Thank You!
Arrived here from Martijn Doolard. Love the video 🎉

Thanks for the demo. Cool set up
Iwill be making my stove masonry heater on our first floor. What floor supports do I need to build in the basement to support the unit?
Would it be possible to burn dried bamboo in the masonry oven instead of wood? In the future, wood may be scarce and bamboo grows a lot faster.
Does this kit have an option for a see through fire box?

Cool idea
Do the fire door and oven door get set to the core? Or casing ??
Could you use it like this without mortar?
Concrete gets destroyed by temperature over 100 degrees Celsius. So is this concrete different? How much heat can it withstand?

Sadly so
seems easy enough to build forms and make all these pieces yourself. much cheaper than paying some company even if it is chinese
Well this is almost 9k usd. If you csn get it for 5 🤷♂️
$8300. I'll build my own.
Audio is horrid.
Horrid might be an overstatement. How about acknowledging all the positives
@@sdrcorbu You clearly haven't met my ears.
