- Harley Davidson Road Glide ST - I'm done! (Almost) This 2023 @harleydavidson Road Glide ST was bought by @advanblack about a year ago for showcasing performance bagger style parts. We are almost done, I got the new rear end lined out, and now can show the brand new side cut tank. I also added a king tour pack just for practicality, but now I need to figure out graphics since it looks so plain without anything on the tank!

I'm a freakin' nerd, so all I see is Stormtrooper vibes, I FREAKIN' LOVE IT!!!! Some cool rubber pads in the indents of the tank would be cool.

The tour pak and lights look good. I agree with you that the tank needs something to accent the knee cuts. Knee pads do seem like a good idea. LOL at the "Tortilla CHiP"!! 🤣
Love the new tank. Is it still a 6 gallon? I would probably like tank pads in the cutouts to finish it out. Maybe the pads cut out with a Bar and Shield logo imprinted on them.
I like that idea. I commented that some stripes to accent the lines and a minimal bar and shield. But your idea would be dual purpose and look good too.

It would honestly be really cool to have the Advan Black logo on one side of the tank, and then your Pro Monkey on the opposite. With this being a rolling billboard it would function and flow. Either scripting or pinstriped accents. Just food for thought.

what a killer tank
I once saw a road glide with a tank that style. In his cut outs he had pieces of diamond stitched leather pads. It was sick.
Padded to match the seat pattern like the old BSA's and yes I see the the plate being up so high being an issue can't wait to see if it is , my advice ,run , ha ha

I feel like just a minimal bar and shield and some sort of striping to accent the outlines of the indents on the tank would be plenty. It doesn’t need much but it does need something. As always a great video! You just make this stuff look so easy.

You ain't wrong about the tour pack "helping" out on toll roads. I heard...
With the elimination of the fender tail light, the only light, unless you are directly behind, all that shows is the tour pack light. Also the hidden license plate will look like incomplete underglow lights. Ha ha!
That setup seems like you don't even want to walk by a beer tent!! It's looking pretty good!!
Tooled leather knee pads on the tank would be cool.
That tour pack would look better with a Pro Monkey "follow me on youtube" sticker on it. Just sayn. Or, put a QR code on it that links to amazon hemorrhoid creme.

Perfect timing for a tour pack tutorial as I add one to my RG3. Love the MEGAFORCE clip!!! bike totally needs some triumph style knee pads and a spoiler on the trunk!
@@Trexducatishow did you add a tour pack to the RG3? The trunk lifts up so you would be lifting the trunk lid and tour pack.
@Jedi_CVO-RG I keep tools, rain gear and stuff I don't need often in the trunk. Made a mount bracket that uses the same holes as the rack. Mostly wanted a better backseat rest with a few more inches room.
You'll need some kinda pads on the side of the tank.... when my wife had a Gold Wing trike her jeans started to rub the paint off so I found rubber/chrome sides for it on Kury's web page.. Great job!!!

In the tank "ice cream" shape cut outs, maybe have a selection of insert designs that match many different paint schemes with a rubber grip to it.

Side note this light direct fits TourPak that have an oem light. I did this and love it
Side note 2: the license plate hiding under a TourPak is a fantastic reason to have one. Can’t tell you how many toll roads I’ve been on and not had to pay 😈
The older you get the more you realize that practically outweighs the cool factor. We already know we are cool.

Tank looks good on the bike but needs some kind of bagging on it. Looks to plain. I believe they’re going to have to do something different with the tag bracket.
I agree, tank needs something,, something saying HarleyDavidson of some sort, not sure how but definitely should be there… Bar & Shield like you mentioned on the smaller section of the tank,,, I agree .
Something with a silver leaf inlay with turns in it and your logo or HD logo would be sweet

The plastic carbon fiber stick on cut out on the tank a side cover would look cool with the Harley emblem on the round part of the tank like the CVO had a couple years ago.

I think some grip pads in the cutouts would be fantastic and it would also be nice if they offer that tank for older models like for a 2010 Road King for instance.

You should get the same design you have on the seat put on the side of the tank. Than would look sweet!
I would use seadek that they use on boats for those indents. And you can have designs/logos cnc cut into them. Use 2 colors so the design/logo stands out

its an interesting look. i would have preferred the side covers cover the frame where the 2 silver bolts go in. And running the stretched tank covers on mine and seeing this new tank, the new tank tooks so small. But im all for making the bikes unique. Better than the "black streetglide" that everyone has.

I'm liking the tank. Wonder if they make a similar one for an Electra Glide which eliminates that horrible gas cap opening and gives me a side fill like I had with my Road King? 🤔 I hate that gas cap location / door / all of it lol even with a different console and a pop up gas cap, the location prevents clear view on the tank opening and the result is a tank that is not full or overflows 🤬

I sit on my Electra Glide and rock the bike left to right to “burp” the air out as I’m filling up.
I had gas blow out of the filler hole once while just holding the bike vertical!
I was not happy about that cause I had gasoline everywhere on the tank, my seat, my clothes, aarrrggghhh!!!

When telling us how hard the new tank installation was, would you say between a 1-3 beard was it a 4+ beard?
I mean, it's easier than a cam, but a PITA to get the fuel pump out and transferred. There should be a category for "not hard, but i'd rather eat fire ants."
My 24 CVO RG has the issue with that plastic c-clip. Every time I take the seat off the c-clip comes off.

Is the v&h pipe the one with the pcx system? I installed a pro pipe with the pcx system on my roadglide and I am worried that it will be too restrictive when I go stage 2. Have you noticed any power restrictions with the pipe or any problems after you went stage 2?

Tank would look bettr with an FXDX Style dash strip and Aero Filler Cap. The scallop[ would look better if it was dished instead of the straight vertical crease.

The tank needs some refinement other shape. No not rubber floor mats like a triumph. Just some rounding to the edges or something. It looks like it was put on a bandsaw and a notch was cut out of each side. Then a peice of flat stock was cut to shape, bent, and welded on. It jist don't look like a finished product.
What skateboard wheels did you use?
