    I felt like I was watching Alternative Nation on MTV with this episode. I had so much great nostalgia.

    Sooo much great music in '93! 🎼🎶🎶 craig mentioned a single but I wish someone would have had "janet" by Janet Jackson on their list. perfection all the way through 👯🔊 i'm kinda surprised nobody said Depeche Mode "songs of faith and devotion", a different sound for them but still great. 🎸 Toni Braxton's first album that year too! 💜 i was happy to hear Bjork's first solo album mentioned. i leaned more toward's Craig's list on this year. I want to hear that Morphine album though. Got it on my ever-growing list 🗒. I was also shocked when craig had the one song on his bottom list (i won't spoil it) 😯 also robert's #2 album! i didn't roll my eyes because i actually like some of the songs but I wouldn't say second best album of the year! I agree with him that "Pablo Honey" is not the best Radiohead album and it doesn't represent the band. Mike calling himself Johnny Flynn 🙃🤪

      The Modern Rock radio station here had only been on the air for a year or so at that point. All of that music was still sounding so fresh and exciting. I was in college radio for the first time seeing promo cd's so those bands will always have those kind of memories with me.

    Craig - TTD - "Delicate" Wow, you're my hero! Symphony Or Damn is filled with gems; "Seasons" is one of the finest!

    Omg, I’m dying at Robert’s rant about Can You Forgive Her?!😂😂😂 “Very” is one of my favorite PSB albums, but that cracked me up🤣🤣

    Spilt Milk by Jellyfish has got to be my favorite album from 1993, it is a severely underrated masterpiece that deserves more attention

    When I revisited Pearl Jam 10 after many years, I was struck by the thick and fake layer of reverb on the whole thing. It's like they mixed it down and applied a stadium reverb plug-in.

      I've always thought that about "Ten". I used to have a CD player with effects like "hall" and "arena" that added huge echo in a really generic way. "Ten" just like a CD with that effect on.

    I really liked that mick jagger album. I had it on tape. Don’t Tear Me Up was good and Handsome Molly was a cool folk song

    I got worried when Robert alluded that Very was one of his bottoms but his explanation really cracked me up omg. Not sure if it'll change your opinion Robert but I always took it that the "But that's childish, so childish" line in Can You Forgive Her? is making fun of the man the song is about because he won't stand up to himself to his girlfriend being homophobic towards him and portrays him as a bit pathetic and a pushover, especially because he actually is gay but won't admit it. It's more poking fun. The rest of Very is really good, it's a very romantic album in one sense but also sad at the same time despite the colorful imagery and sound. It's probably my second favorite album by them but Behaviour, the album before, surpasses it for me.
    Also really happy to see some love for Republic, it's one of my favorite New Order albums and I think it's better than some make it out to be :)
    Also got to see both PSB and New Order last year on the Unity Tour in Minneapolis and they were both fantastic!!
    happy pride month as well to all of you

    Quite a lot of albums on Robert's '93 list are on mine as well...but extra kudos for Redd Kross! Can't disagree with any of your bottoms, especially Kid Rock and Counting Crows. Blech!

    The big misses I saw in your tops were Slowdive "Souvlaki", Afghan Whigs "Gentlemen", and Juliana Hatfield Three "Become What You Are". Yes, I know Robert already trashed one of her songs in the 1994 episode, but he likes 90s Aerosmith. Craig, Primus SUCKS! 🤣

    • @CinemaATTACKS
      @CinemaATTACKS ปีที่แล้ว

      Get a Grip at #2 honestly shocked me, I thought that would make his bottom instead. Afghan Whigs definitely deserves a shoutout.

      Primus used to proclaim proudly that they "suck" as if it was an ironic statement. I always assumed it was to throw people off the scent. They were basically a way for young guys, who weren't into rap, to blast subwoofers. Once that era passed, their popularity waned.

    Johnny Flynn, we usually agree on music but I can't believe you put Counting Crows August and Everything in your bumhole list! Shame on you :)
