A friend of mine is a Met Officer and he recently told me that either in briefings or in internal memo's, all Police Officers have been told the legalities of public photography. If any officer doesn't know, then they should, because they've all been briefed.

Yes you covered it under human rights legislation, true enough.😁

At 9:35 the excellent use of the word "private" - the clue is in the word private 😂. Clearly from this point onward the ignorant constable wasn't listening to anything you were saying, before rudely driving off. I thought the video was going to end at 11:25 as the police car seemed to drive into the yellow 'General Waste' skip. At 11:48 another officer seems to appear from the very same skip, before his back up arrives in the form of Mark Zuckerberg and a PCSO. Its good to see police staff shortages have been addressed. Great work PPTP - top form.

If these are the things we see them doing (& let's face it, they make no effort to hide it) I shudder to think what they're up to behind closed doors. Under article 8 of the human rights act you don't have to explain why you are doing a legal activity. You have the right to keep that private. The police association put out an all forces memo stating members of the public are allowed to film whatever they want from a public place this includes buildings and or police officers once a digital image video or photograph has been taken it is then the property of the person who took said image or images the police have no powers to demand you delete any footage and no powers to seize any equipment without a court order.
That came from the POLICE association. Their is no such thing as a private vehicle. They have a number on the outside of the vehicle so they CAN be specifically identified. The tyrants are not the arbitrators of what is "unusual" or "normal". Section 3.5 of police policies says police must inform members of the public at the first opportunity that they are filming. Unless they have had permission from a senior officer to film you covertly.

It would seem covert recording by the police of interactions with the public is the norm rather than the exception. If you are not informed at the earliest opportunity recording is taking place and such covert recording is not expressly authorised by an officer of inspector rank or above it becomes an illegal activity and is an indictable offence. Time for action I would suggest.

They should have to upload any footage they took during a day and it be audited for this notification. They don't have to watch the entire interaction just to the 'convenient moment' threshold which is usually in the first 30 seconds.
If they fail to do so they receive a verbal then written then actionable warning and possibly a fine for each breach made.
I'd be happy to audit the shit out of footage all day to keep them on point.
