What a great review! Comprehensive and succinct. Thank you. My wife and I are flying out of ORD this fall in Polaris. We have been to the Polaris lounges in IAD and EWR and so we are looking forward to trying a new lounge.
Thank you! Have fun in the Chicago lounge. The sit-down restaurant seems to always be busy (I’ve been 2 more times since this review), so I suggest that you reserve a spot ahead of time or get your name in right away. Enjoy! 😄
My wife and I flew to Barcelona from there last summer (June 13, 2023) and had an opportunity to spend the afternoon in this lounge before our evening non-stop flight to Spain. Our flight departed at 6:30pm, and I think we checked in at 2:00pm because we knew what awaited us and we didn't want to worry about traffic and all that. It wasn't nearly this crowded.
I'm glad you had time to enjoy the lounge and that it wasn't crowded! I think the food is much better than on the actual flight, so it's always nice to have time to enjoy a meal there.
I’ve been to SFO one twice - first time didn’t have time to enjoy the resto. 2nd time back I really had extra time to sit there - had a citrus salad, pasta primavera, and cookie dessert, but somehow it didn’t come with the skillet as yours. I love love their shower, and always take advantage of it. The area right before the shower one is always quiet and less crowded. I didn’t want to eat too much as I knew I had great food on SQ right after the lounge 😊😮😊. I think it was a perfect combo.
No skillet? I would complain! 😂 I love the showers too. All in all, I've really enjoyed every Polaris lounge I've tried so far (though I haven't had the chance to try SFO yet)!
I really wish they'd upgrade the service of the United Club. I've been to the ORD Polaris lounge twice, and love it. We just don't seem to do domestic first class or domestic lounges as well as other countries do.
I totally agree about the regular United Clubs. I know they opened a bigger one near the Polaris Lounge at ORD, but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Have you?
Beautiful lounge, but I was a bit surprised by the menu. I was there just once, pre-Covid, and the cuisine was a bit more haute back then. It even seemed to just miss a 1-Michelin Star quality. From this review, the kitchen has suffered a drop in altitude (just based on sight, of course). Still, the lounge as a whole is a tasteful feast for the eyes.
Very interesting about just missing 1-Michelin Star! They are definitely not that level now, but compared to most buffet-only lounges and compared to United's in-flight food service, the Polaris restaurant is pretty solid :)
Good vlog. I liked the Polaris lounge at Newark. But, there the top shelf wines were not "free". Still a very good lounge. Polaris as travel experience punches above its weight I find. Other carriers like Qatar and even ElAl have a much better business class product.
If you are flying Business class on Eva Air, you can get into the Polaris lounge, but you might have to clear security twice, so budget for that extra time. Enjoy!
If both flights are in Terminal 1, Concourse C, then you should have enough time to hit the buffet at least, but if you're coming from or going out of another terminal, then I wouldn't risk it.

Love your content 😊
Thanks so much!! ♥️🥰
I’m going to make sure my husband knows about this lounge!
You should! And tell him to leave enough time for the restaurant!

Hi, It's a fantastic video! I couldn't help wondering if I have an evening flight, can I go there in the morning to have breakfast?🤣
Haha I would totally do that if they let me!! 😂

I completely agree that some of the top international carriers like Qatar are much better than United, especially for food and service!
Question: do you tip the waiters at the sit down restaurant, even though it's free?
I always tip there, but it's not mandatory or expected.
@@MelsMilesandPoints Thank you! I will, too.
I am flying Lufthansa business in a couple weeks from Chicago to Munich. Do I get access to this lounge?
Yes, since Lufthansa is part of the Star Alliance (like United), a transatlantic business class flight gets you in. Enjoy!
@@MelsMilesandPoints thank you. It is the new Allegris business class :)
If I fly biz with EVA, can I come from terminal 5 to use this lounge? Or it’s too much? Thank you
If you are flying Business class on Eva Air, you can get into the Polaris lounge, but you might have to clear security twice, so budget for that extra time. Enjoy!
I've been TWICE and I now make skillet cookies at home.
I NEED that recipe!! 😅😂
If you want to enjoy Polaris lounge, go to the airport earlier, enjoy the foods and facilities, or even take a shower before your boarding call
I totally agree! :)
O’Hare polaris lounge is getting old, need renovation
I have only been to 2 different Polaris lounges, but I think the Chicago one is still quite nice 😁
i'll have 1 hour do you think flying in to ohara united i'll have enough time to get to the lounge, eat and run back?
