I don’t know if it’s intentional, but I love that the sound of dropping soaps is in rhythm with the music. I’ve noticed it in other videos and I think it’s a very nice touch and also very satisfying 🥰

I wouldn't worry too much about making the same kind of projects in a row, I think it resonates with that hyperfixation you get as a maker/artist when you find a new medium and get really into it watching a lot of videos to learn as much as possible and try new stuff

You can it's a great way to layer it. When you cut it each one has a different patter so no 2 will ever be alike.

Hey Evan and Katelyn! I actually started making sugar scrub cubes for my soap shop (and honestly you guys are the ones who got me into the soap making hobby, so thank you.), and I tweaked Soap Queen's recipe to help with the greasiness. Just half the amount of oil in there (I use olive oil, personally) and it helps tremendously.
I'd love to see you guys do more soap videos in the future!

I think if you go with adding specks and swirls of colour with the inks, you maybe dip the stir stick into ink and then put it in the soap so only the minimum gets added? Might prevent the big globs of it settling at the bottom

If there’s a mold release equivalent for soap, slush casting soap in tinfoil shaped like a geode half (or just a custom mold) would possibly look cool
(esp if you make the outside rock colored and layer the rest of colors inside)

Make a salt scrub center with large rock salt, use semi cooled soap to mold it into a good shape
Hey, I have an idea for crafts you guys can do! You can make a cat corner for the supurrviser. There will be a desktop place in the middle where she will have access to cat food and water. On the right, there will cabinets where all her cat food and treats, etc. will be stored. On the left will be a wooden box where she can sleep. On top of that will be a mat where she can lay and if hungry can have access to the cat food from there. Hope you like my idea!

What if you made soaps in Geode/egg shapes with the sugar center and did a cross section of THAT? You'd have to build it kinda backwards, starting from the inside building layers outward...

These are super cool (and way more accessible than resin!). You could use a grey/brown sugar scrub soap to thinly coat the edge of the geodes, as if they’re still in their rocky ‘shell’

I LOOOOOVE the look of the alcohol inks. For a fully useful soap, try switching to really concentrated mica powders and mixing them in a small amount of water and darken with a black mica or activated charcoal. So, no alchohol ink but use water dye. The glycerin should keep the color suspended.

They look amazing!! I think a nice touch to make them look even more like a geode would be to add little cut up pieces of the clear glycerin in the middle like the resin geodes you made:)
Experimentation and trying new stuff is how you BECOME masters at a thing!! You guys are doing science, which is basically flying by the seat of your pants, and making a record of what happens while you do it. You're learning, which is awesome! Even if you don't manage it the first time, you can use what you learned the next try. That said, I absolutely love how these turned out!
Also: soap googly eyes to put by the faucet so it looks like the faucet is a runny nose. Or soap glasses to set on top of it! Resin geode plate for your soap geodes? More geodes, is what I'm trying to say, I suppose. Also more soap and resin in general, those are super fun to watch.

should use this method to make soap lemon slices, and then make a glass mold filled with just clear soap, fill that with some tea colored soap, and place the lemon slices on top so it's an actual ice tea soap.
You could also cut pieces of the melt and pour and make them look like shards of crystal. You could even roll them in a bit of mica to have that shimmer. Then before the center cools you stick them in.
Oooo that's a really cool idea!
