Hi Brian, thanks for the video. I had just replaced my O2 sensor but only after few hours the check light engine turned back on. What would be the most possible problem in your opinion?
I have a 2006 Mazda 5 needs 02 sensor. I’m going to try to rent the tool from parts store to do myself. Struggling here lol. A transmission solenoid code has come on too. Do you think the two could be related? I have been looking at TH-cam videos all night. Sick of car troubles ‼️thanks
Just FYI, im no car nut and know very little. i just made that vid because it was an easy fix and i couldnt find any for that particular car. as far as the transmission solenoid goes, i really have no idea. Heres what i found after a quick google search, but idk if it will help. www.cashcarsbuyer.com/transmission-solenoid-cost/#:~:text=The%20transmission%20solenoid%20replacement%20cost%20for%20one%20single%20solenoid%20is,complete%20transmission%20solenoid%20replacement%20cost.
The only thing I'm on jourove is whether or not my 02 sensor that I'm meeting 02 sensor that I'm meeting to replace it says it's bank 2 it says it's bank 2 does that mean it's done streamer upstream upstream I will try to do further research elsewhere...
Good job Brian. I have the same issue with my Mazda5 2010. With the help of your video I will do it on my own too. The dealer was asking me $250 for it. Can you provide me with the part number that you used for ebay? Thanks.
Thnx, there is a downstreem sensor, located after the con erter - hve change that - so i belive ther should be an upstream as well. My Delphi diagnostic says error: sonsor1 Bank1..
Today,I have replaced my 02 sensor #24447 on mazda5 2008 van, after replacement I disconnected the battery positive terminal and negative terminal, waited for 5 minutes, the engine light didn't go off, and my van runs funny it kinda stalls 😬 wont go pass 3000 RPM even pedal on the ground pressed, it gets fast but the report key won't go pass 3000 rmp, any idea? Thank you.
hameed wafa i know the video said it went out, but i did end up having to replace with a name brand (i think it was NGK)sensor, because the cheap ebay one would not reset the engine light...kept turning back on after going through a drive cycle
Brian Freeborn, can you provide a little bit more info on what part # was it for the NKG sensor and also where did you buy it from and how much? Thanks bud.
I ended up getting it at oriley because they will price match competitors and i didnt want to wait for it to ship...came out to about $95ish if i remember correctly. I think the part number is NTK 24234...yeah, it is NTK not NKG i mispoke earlier
I have no idea about the stalling issue. If i were to guess i would guess it is something near the O2 sensor. I had an older vehicle years ago that had the catalytic converter out, and that was weird...like the pedal was on the floor but wouldnt get up to speed. Tbh i dont know a ton about cars, so the best bet is take it to a good reliable shop or friend that knows what they are doing to check it out
The Mazda 5 is often overlooked. Even by Mazda for most repair videos. Mine is an 07...doesnt appear to be many differences. Thank you for posting!
Excellent tutorial, just replaced my Mazda sensor at tenth of garage price offer
Glad it helped

Hi from the UK. Great clear video. I have a 2011 mark 2 Mazda 5 - is it the same sensor, do you know?
Thanks Brian, helpful and clear
Helpful really
What was the code you got for your engine light?
Hi Brian, thanks for the video. I had just replaced my O2 sensor but only after few hours the check light engine turned back on. What would be the most possible problem in your opinion?
i believe there are two sensors, 02 sensor 1 and o2 sensor 2. Could it be you need to replace your 2nd sensor?
@@jadecornwell6959 Hi Brian, thanks. Exactly! Already replaced second one and it works
Thank you
What size is the socket for the sensor?
Where did you get the sensor from, I just cant find a 5 wire sensor for 2008 mazda 5!!
Was that Bank 1 or Bank 2? ThanksJoe
joesnowmobiles bank 1

Should I change both of the sensors or just the upstream?? Mazda CX-7
honestly i think the best bet is to get a code reader at advance auto or o'riley and see what it says.

kindprince yeah, definitely easy diy. Save yourself $150 bucks
NTK 24234 i think is what you will need...more expensive than the one in the vid, but it did take care of the engine code
Thanks Brian Freeborn
hey, what type of oxygen sensor for mazda premacy 2007?please i really need your help
to be honest i would go into O'riley or Advanced auto and ask them. after a quick google search, i couldnt find it. sorry i couldnt be more help.
Trying to find the sensor1 Bank1 on my Mazda 5 2010 2,0 diesel... Cannot mange to located it... 😰
.. Can someone HELP pls? 🙄🇳🇴
I think diesels don't use oxygen sensors
