Pillars and ash? Oof Eric, close to the THR bone...
Guess who? Hi guy, that was me. So I saw my family here, looked at Different Strokes full episodes in season 1, and episode 2, and e quite a car was here in front of my own house. You miss okay, live-action for today in snow that day.
Calvin: “It’s like a helicopter, it’s so cool.”
Eric thinking: “You’re dead to me now.”
“So you’ve chosen death.”
eric likes them to
@@Pinkielover Nah he doesn't.
😂😂😂
@@rogeliorocha7221
And sadly, the people who most need to learn that lesson will reject it out of hand, because they have welded their opinions and their egos together, so if one goes under the other goes too.
"When one has been angry for a long time, it becomes comfortable; and eventually you can't remember ever feeling any other way."
Eric's face when he saw the Inquisicopters is priceless.
EXACTLY. I saw his face everytime the Inquisitors came 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂ong
Can't blame him I had the same look on my face when I saw the helicopter lightsaber effect.
I know we all looked at Eric’s face when the helicopters showed up 😂😂.
So nice to see it again lol!
"Are u f*cking with me?" - Famous words from Eric
Been waiting for this since this series started
@Seeker Eye you're gonna have to find another place to hate this show. We like rebels on this channel.
Haha
I love Maul in Rebels. He is like a dark version of Yoda.
I agree
yo that's actually a pretty brilliant way of putting it 👏🏾lol
Maul even introduces himself as weak and helpless like Yoda in Empire.
@@Im_Ish Kinda like JarJar does in Phantom Menace, despite being the most powerful force user of them all
"Away with your weapon, I mean you no harm"
Rick: "I wonder if he'll fight better than Alec Guinness?"
Eric: *don't react, don't react*
Be careful of your thoughts, they betray you 😉
3 move finnish. Flawless victory
And the relationship between Eric and helicopter lightsabers begins anew
Eric definitely attacked Calvin after recording ended for liking the helicopter lightsabers
Lol I don't LIKE them but I also think the hate for them is overdone. We're talking about a universe with magic space wizards, is it really that big of a deal that they bend the laws of physics here and there? I mean, I know Eric hates them in a more joking way than some do but there are some that get so bent out of shape because Star Wars doesn't go full sci-fi and strictly stick to the laws of physics lol
@@jakobfel2 I don’t like them at all, but I don’t care about them either. If they’re in SW then i’m fine with it.
@@JS-td8yp I agree entirely. I love the saber design but I think the helicopter thing is pretty dumb. That said, I got over it right away lol
Ah I loved the reaction to the inquisicopters
Calvin: Excitement
Rick: Confusion
Aaron: Acceptance
Eric: P A I N
Ezra: "Ahsoka, you said we're here to find knowledge. What kind of knowledge?"
Ahsoka: "The forbidden kind. To defeat your enemy you have to understand them."
Thrawn boutta sue her for copyright infringement.
Unfortunately for Ahsoka, Thrawn would have won in court
Of course, why do you think she wasn't in the OT, she was in jail for 5 years.
@@Lucos546 Right now, I am reading about your adventures in Chaos Rising
@@piotrgarlicki1330 Thrawn has avoided like 30 court martials at this point, he must be decent in court
7:29 Maul's in trouble too.
"I wonder if he'll fight better than Alec Guinness"
AHE-HE-HEM
I like how Maul told Ezra that he “shall have revenge” but Ezra says he “wants JUSTICE”
But to Maul, with all his suffering at the hands of the sith (and kenobi), isn't revenge justice?
Two words for the same thing.
@@RasakBloodIn this context... Kinda
Eric’s visible frustration whenever the helicopter lightsabers appear is never NOT going to be hilarious 😆
First time seeing the flying lightsabers, "This is the dumbest thing ever. I hate it."
After seeing Eric's reaction, "This is the dumbest thing ever. I love it."
With Mando season 2 and the Ahsoka spinoff announced, no Star Wars fan will ever experience these episodes for the first time the same way that we did. The real feeling that Ahsoka is going to die, and the way the show plays up to that expectation.
I watched Rebels when it came out for the first two seasons (also knowing that this was the first piece of Star Wars content that I’ve watched) and when it aired, twilight of the Apprentice was the last thing I saw and after that I had lost track of Rebels and never saw season 3 or 4. I was then left with the cliffhanger of thinking Ahsoka was dead. That was until early 2020 when I got disney+ and catched up on seasons 3 and 4 and rewatched from the beginning just to give myself a refresh
Yes and no. Timelines are fuzzy when you’re a kid. I am one of the few (born in 79 ) I missed STAR WARS in the theater and I saw RETURN in the theater and, back then, movies took forever to come out on tape so I didn’t see EMPIRE till after
For real! I still remember the intense discussions I had with other fans about that shot of Ahsoka walking down into the temple at the end of part 2-did she survive? was it her force ghost? was it just artistic license to say goodbye to the character for good? was she *walking* down or *falling* down from her injuries into the doorway? So surreal in retrospect to see how they strung us along for a couple years there.
i just cant wait for Ezra to show up and then have those shows lead his story into his own show
Eric's reaction to the inquisitiors blades will never not be funny
I've been looking forward to this since they started rebels again haha
I was so pleased that Calvin just enjoys them being cool, so that they can have a full discussion around the whole spectrum of awesome to dumb parts about them.
Eric's face was priceless, loved it!
Eric’s hate and reaction to them will always be priceless.
Just like he did first time!
Ahsoka seeing Maul in this episode is way more impactful after watching season 7 of the Clone Wars. Love it.
Ah yes, the return of the Heli-saber.......WITH A VENGEANCE
dis reference?
@@kennyplop Hellsing Ultimate Abridged actually
I love how both sides of them are different
on the left with Eric and rick: they disagree and argue about the lightcopters
but on the right with Calvin and aaron: they absolutely love it and laugh at the otherside who hate it and support it now
I love that Maul reveals his name when he and Ezra have reached a brighter area. Maul's own color is more visible at that point, so he's essentially reawakening as the episode progresses (also shown through his voice). And it's not in the edit, but when he talks about having the "courage to risk oblivion", he sounds a little like Gandalf.
Seeing Eric get annoyed by the helicopter sabers again after 5 years is a good enough reason to watch this video. xD
Ezra always throwing out Jabba as his name to strangers always makes me laugh.
And most of the time he says it to ppl who know who Jabba really is. HA!
I love how Maul reacts with slight amusement because he's actually met Jabba in person before (and threatened his life).
Calvin: "HELICOPTERS! They're so cool!"
Eric: 🤬
Oh the helicopters and Eric,
A match made in heaven
"If he had a name, it's long since been forgotten. He would have only been remembered as a servant of evil." - Gandalf the Grey
Me when I see Eric's look of disgust at the lightsaber helicopters: What FUN! WHAT FUN!!!
There are two kinds of nerds...
"Helicopters! Cooool!"
"How does that work??? I don't understand the physics!"
I'm with Rick, the Inquisitor sabers don't make a lick of sense.
The Dark Side of the Force is made more powerful by impressive special effects.
The low center of gravity makes it to where they can "hover" with the saber
I believe it's because they have repulsor lifts in their lightsabers
How about there are energy swords made of sentaint crystals and big mile long triangle ships that go faster than the speed of light ... But no flying with a lightsaber that's to far
@@joeswanson7634 It’s not because it doesn’t make sense, it’s because it’s fucking silly. Ships that travel at the speed of light aren’t silly. Energy swords aren’t silly. Helicopter energy swords are very very silly.
If you want the maximum amount of entertainment for this reaction you need to watch erics face starting 10 seconds before a flying helicopter blade appears
He’s all of us
Watching this again with the freshbloods is so cool. I love how Calvin went the Aaron way of not being sure it's Maul till he revealed himself. Eric's PTSD with the helicopter blades is everything.
Glad Eric brought up the repulsor-lifts in the inquisitor lightsaber hilts!
There’s a sale on at the Maul, everything’s half off.
Maul (What fun! What fun!)
4:20 | Poor Eric
10:55 | His journey towards the Dark Side shall be complete.
The Eight Brother who was hunting Maul and surprised attacked Ezra, Kanan and Ahsoka on Malachor is a Terrelian Jango Jumper, the same alien species as Cassie Cryar who stole Ahsoka's Lightsaber in the Clone Wars episode, "Lightsaber Lost".
He Is also voiced by Robbie Daymond a voice actor best known for his work as Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon, Prompto in Final Fantasy XV, Goro Akechi in Persona 5, among others.
And Peter Parker/Spider-Man from Marvel's Spider-Man.
The only thing we see on the Eight Brother are his hands and feet, and they don't match Cassie Cryer's hands and feet, so why would it be the same species?
@@The_Greg_5000 If they are different, ( I don't care enough to compare images and check ) that could just be a difference between the males and females of their species. There are examples of that in Star Wars. Either way, he is confirmed to be the same species, so it doesn't really matter.
@@nerodarkblade5068 Yup Pablo Hidalgo confirmed on a Rebels Recon episode that The Eighth brother is a Jango Jumper.
I love Maul's design in Rebels. He is kind of streamlined and slim. It suits him in this phase of his life. I prefer this to his design in TCW.
I know a lot of fans hate the art style of Rebels, but I don't, although I can understand it was a shock to those who loved TCW.
Another fun detail is how Maul reacts somewhat amused when Ezra first introduces himself as Jabba - because Maul has MET Jabba before.
"I don't understand the physics."
It's Star Wars. There are no physics.
Also repulsor lifts built into the hilts. But mostly just Star Wars not caring about physics.
@@OniLink147
Including the very concept of repulsors lift engines being a thing.
@@Carabas72 Fair enough lol
Bitch please, there are physics, it’s just that Lucasfilm these days like to pick and choose what abides to the laws of physics. And of course, when people question their reasoning, they respond with a long answer that can usually be summed up with, “I dunno, I just put it there”.
The Twilight of the Apprentice episodes are some of the best pieces of Star Wars ever made. Surpasses so many Clone Wars episodes for me!
@12:56
Eric: "Some people hadn't recognized Maul when they first saw this"
Aaron: *suspiciously silent*
"I trust him". Priceless.
Let's see how much Eric hates the helicopters this time!
Eric has reached the Dark Side.
Long have I waited... And today the time has come.
25:13 I like it when they kept teasing Eric with different potential usages of the helicopter lightsabers.
I have now come full circle on Blind Wave as their Original reaction was one of my 1st video of blind wave I watch. Nice to see Erics old nemesis and Eric face again from the reaction! 4:12 10:55! Now perpare your tears for next week!
i love Maul and Ezra's dynamic because it emphasizes that had Kanan not found Ezra first, he really couldve been persuaded to the dark side instead.
25:07 - It's not flying, it's falling _with style!_
25:38
Eric's face was RED he was trying so hard not to freak out and tell them.
I love all the callbacks to their conversation from the same reaction from a few years ago.
I really want Dave Filoni to handle some Old Republic stuff. Especially his depiction of the Scourge of Malachor.
I believe that it was confirmed that the 8th Brother is a Jango Jumper, that’s why he can jump so high, but he also has the Force too.
The Star Wars: The Lightsaber Collection states that the Inquisitor Lightsaber has micro repulser lifts that not only help the blades spin but also help the user hover.
At least that makes more sense. The spinning is more of a side effect than a cause...
So the small repulsor lifts in a weapon made by pure energy can somehow lift a full grown person in the air. Bullshit
@@knightmare5097 It's not all that different from the repulsor lifts that Cad Bane uses. Granted, his are bigger and more powerful as a whole, but theirs would probably be more in number.
@@Klffsj There’s still a difference in weight and power though
3:31 I remember those ridiculous theories when that shot was in the trailer. "Ezra Is Snoke" & "Is Ezra The Founder of The Knights of Ren?"
The inquisitors have choppers apparently, chopper: say wha?!
I will say that the end scene does make Maul seem like a significant threat because everyone turns towards him like a threat. All the Inquisitors and the Jedi and Ahsoka lol.
*rex didn’t say that in episode 1 he said “in my book experience outranks everything” in the movie which takes place between episodes 2 and 3 of TCW
I remember how much Eric hated the helicopter sabres last time. Watching it again is fun.
3:12 To defeat an enemy, you must know them. Not just their battle tactics, but their history, art, philosophy...
I love that at the end literally everyone turned to face Maul as the biggest threat.
The story of Mauls mother reminds me of the 10 still unfinished Clone Wars arcs.
Eric’s face during the lightsaber helicopters is just too funny😂
In my book experience out ranks everything. I love that quote. I've even managed to use it before.
I was teaching karate (like a peer teacher) and I was a half blue belt at the time. One of the kids came up and said something about how they are a higher belt level and how they technically outrank me. I turned to them and said "In my book experience outranks everything". It was so fun using that in a conversation.
The two sentence derail into a D&D/WOW spell casting argument 24:10-24:30….love these geeks
I love Dave Filoni brought back another piece of the KOTOR universe ! Malachor, were the republic and future of the Jedi order almost died in insane destruction ! Were The Exile didn't follow the other in the Dark side and created a wound in the force...So much good story to be saved in that game serie !
I never could understand the outrage of Disney proclaiming KOTOR "not canon", it was part of the old dubious maybe-canon/maybe-not layers of the EU before Disney took over. Then when Disney took over we started getting really cool stuff from KOTOR end up in fully canon Star Wars content, I get that people enjoy hating Disney but honestly KOTOR has felt a lot closer linked to film canon ever since they took over.
And also the parts of the Sith Code!
2:26 Ahsoka being the only known canon light side user who can speak ur-kittât (Old Tongue).
cannot WAIT till part 2! so keen to see your reactions!
I like to think Dave made the sabercopters just to fuck with Eric🤣🤣
Twilight of the Apprentice - Part I
*What fun!* *What fun!*
Didn't Filoni confirm what Calvin suggested - that the sabercopters only work for flying on the Sith planet because it's so close to the dark side? That's why we only see them fly here and nowhere else.
4:10 The Inquisicopters are back!!!
I’ve waited so long to see Eric’s re-reaction to those helicopter sabers. Although subtle, it did not disappoint 😂
Eric reacting to the spinning sabers again is hilarious. Some PTSD vibes right there 😂
This is where the fun begins! Fantastic 1st part of the Season 2 finale. Can't wait to see how you react to part 2!
Helicopter blade works basically as a Force Throw, while still holding onto the hilt. That's why it has the circular guard around it, so it can spin, while their hand is still able to grasp and hold onto the hilt without the spinning slicing them apart.
Haha yes Helicopter sabers are back 😂
Also interestingly during his playthrough of Jedi Fallen Order Calvin said about Inquisitor saber "but that doesn't make you fly" 🤔
Still what fun 😂
Also i still remember the old reaction where Aaron did not recognize Maul until he revealed himself 😂
A Sith and a Jedi walk into a battle. The Jedi says to his friends, "I brought help." His friends and their opponents all turn their weapons towards the Sith in fear. "What fun," the Sith says.
It's not funny, but the format works just right.
It is a terrible assumption that Malachor has standard Earth gravity when talking about physics here. The rocks even seem to fall kind of slowly.
That's actually a fantastic point! That would explain the Jedi surviving that fall. And Ezra's jumping seemed a little floaty in the temple.
This would make sense until the next episode lol
I love that Calvin likes the Helicopter blades and Eric hates them, I totally would've assumed the opposite lmao
A lot of people hate the whole "helicopter" thing, but when has the Force ever obeyed the laws of physics?
I love how the first rebels episode they are back in the old set up is arguably the most important peace of Star Wars content for the channel. When they first watched twilight of the apprentice I think it changed the channel forever.
4:00 You can pinpoint the exact second Eric realized Helicopter Sabers are about to show up lol
Anyone who knows any Star Wars fans that are hesitant on watching any of the animated shows because they think they are for kids and they wouldn’t enjoy them, just show them Twilight of the Apprentice and watch them as they both regret not watching these earlier and decide to start binging them once they get home.
clone wars and rebels handled maul so well , thats why he is one of my favourite canon characctters
Cant wait for part 2! Twilight of the Apprentice is my favorite story in Rebels
The lightcopters strike back. Eric was so done with them lmao.
Dangit! I was hoping they’d do it all in one lol
The name of this episode is extremely interesting. All our Jedi & Maul as well are all apprentices never made it past the Padawan stage.
Eric's reaction to the Helicopter sabers is my favourite part from the original reaction. Watching him look disgusted to them again made me laugh again.
If you have been here long enough you know Erics first reaction to seeing the helicopter lightsabers lmao
Rick and Calvin really need to see Eric's original reaction to the lightsaber helicopters 🤣
I can’t WAIT for the next episode
I actually think it's pretty cool how they've handle the Extended Universe/Legends. I expected them to just toss it all when they first decanonized it. Now they're kind of like an oral history, not to be taken literally, but the stories people needed to learn from their history.
Ive been waiting for this cant wait to see their reaction to part 2.
The newest Inquisitor is The Eighth Brother, he is a Terrelian Jango Jumper. Cassie Cryar from the clone wars episode Lightsaber Lost as was the padawan named Lika from the clone wars episode Padawan Lost.
Thanks, Eric! Thanks, Rick! Thanks, Calvin! Thanks, Aaron! 🌒
Eighth Brother is a terellian jango jumper. He is voiced by Robbie Daymond. Great voice actor and he has done a lot of anime dub work.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE. TURN IT UP.
13:12 😂😂😂😂 out of no where
Calvin: it's like an helicopter that's so cool 🤦♂️.
Eric: with a face thunder 🌩⚡, you're sacked Calvin 🤣..
“It did feel very Aladdin”…if you know, you know😉
i cant wait for part two one of my favorite episodes from this show
Oh, boy. He's cracked. He's gone nuts. Maul! Maul, get a grip!….. *gack* good grip….
I've been looking forward to this!
